Nov 17, 2016 Magic Kingdom - closing at 4:30pm ??????

Does anyone know why Magic Kingdom is closing at 4:30pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016 (and it is NOT a MVMCP night). The only night of the whole month that MK closes at 4:30pm. I would think it was a typo, but closing on the half hour is unusual and seems pretty deliberate.

Sucks because I was planning on that night as our non-party evening at MK.

I sure would guess it's a weird error. Due to all the talk around here about park hours recently, I actually scrolled back through park hours for the last 3 years. Except for 5 or fewer 6 & 7 pm closings for private events and all the 7pm Halloween and Christmas parties, MK never closed before 8pm.

They closed entire areas of DLP for a Saudi prince's graduation party for three days for 20M dollars. Anything is possible.

Thanks to google, it appears that IAAPA (amusement attractions industry association) is having its convention in Orlando that week and in prior years they have rented out MK for a kickoff special event, so it is probably that. So I either plan around that or try to find a way to get event tickets through that convention

Most likely a private event. Last year on Nov 17th, DHS closed at 4pm for a private event, so the same is probably happening this year, but at MK.

Doesn't happen too often but occasionally HS is closed early for private events. Seems to be this day a private event will be at MK

Yikes - that's crazy early even for an event!
I guess if I'm at WDW that week with hoppers, that's a great day for MK because most folks with base tix will avoid MK

It Was a private event in holywood studios november 17, We plan a other park day because of that.

Rumor is with the staffing cutbacks they will need the extra time for fewer workers to transform the park from Halloween to Christmas theme.

That will happen way before Nov 17. Halloween parties end 10/31 and Christmas parties start 11/7.

Why? Hours are posted way in advance. If someone is traveling there and not checking hours that is on them.

It really stinks for guests to have to work around this in addition to all the Christmas party nights. And I imagine it's not too hard to miss the fact of the early close. Considering the park never closes at/before 7 other than parties, you might think as long as you're steering clear of parties, you're ok, but nope.

Also hope the hours get extended eventually in general - those 8,:00 closes are early!

This years Cast Celebration is at MK instead of DHS. I'm not 100% sure of the date but I'm guessing that's it.
