I'm sorry, but I'm having a lot of trouble understanding your question.

As I understand it, you're asking whether you can afford 2 separate trips, one to Conneticut and the other to Delaware, this year, while you're 29. Then you plan to follow up next year with a trip to Disneyland?

Can it be done? Sure, if you have the time and money.

Or you cold make it one trip. You could fly to CT, and spend time with family. Rent a car from a national chain, and drive to Delaware. Spend time there, return the car, and fly home.

Can you afford it? I don't know. Can you get sufficient time off work? I don't know that either. Is it what you're actually asking? I'm not quite sure.

I don't understand either. First, you don't HAVE to fit two summer trips in. You don't HAVE to fit one summer trip in. You can do as many (or as few) as you want.

Second, is DL "Disneyland" or "Delaware"?

Third, are you trying to do two trips in the same year to celebrate two birthdays?

Last but not least, any trip(s) you want to take CAN be done money wise. Whether YOU (general) can handle the money required no one on this board can say. We don't know your salary, we don't know your expenditures.

Now, if you want to ask how much such a trip will take, that's something you'll probably get a answer to. But people would need to know where you're starting from, do you have your own reliable transportation (to drive) or would you prefer flying?

Being first doesn't matter. We need to settle this. I have a full replica of the Aggro Crag from the set of Guts circa 1993. Meet me there.

I'm going to edit your post to be what I believe you are trying to say. That way, maybe people will be able to give solid answers.

I was going to go to Connecticut this year to see my family; however, I don't see it working out as planned. It looks like I will not be able to go this year and will have to go next year, instead. This means that I will have to fit two summer trips into one summer. I was planning on going to Connecticut for my 29th birthday and Disneyland for my 30th. Now I think I will have to do both trips in one summer next year. Do you think it can financially be done?

I think it can be done too, plus you will have more time to save money for each trip. I would sit down and plan a budget for each trip and then put a savings plan in place for each one. Good luck to you!!:goodvibes

And if this is what you were asking, here's my response. I don't know your personal financial situation, but I do believe it can be done. You have a whole year to start saving up. You could likely go to Disneyland for 5 days, stay at Paradise Pier, and spend less than $2,500 for hotel and park admission. I don't know what your flight would run you, but I'm sure Priceline could give you a good deal. With your Connecticut trip, you are visiting family and I'm assuming you would stay with them. You would need to pay for flights and food, but I wouldn't think it would cots too much. Take a look at your finances and sit down with your husband and map out a savings plan that you can stick to for the next year. If there is no way for you to feasibly do both, you could always suggest that your family from Connecticut join you at Disneyland for a small family reunion. That way, you see them and enjoy Disneyland.

I know the OP's post is confusing but I'm trying to figure out why Aliceacc wants her to go to Delaware.

DL is the acronym for Delaware; since the OP used CT for Connecticut, I guess Aliceacc thought that OP was using acronyms for both states.

How much money do you have to vacation? How many weeks of vacation time do you have at work?

Some people can afford to take a year off and travel, others have to scrimp and save for a weekend trip.

Why are you asking strangers? Only you know how much money and vacation time you have.

If you would like to provide us with more information, we could give you a "yes" or "no" answer.

If I recall correctly, your 30th bday is a few year away. You should be able to save for it.

Not according to the US Coast Guard :rotfl2: Well, according to Wikipedia, not according to the US Coast Guard.

That will teach me to make guesses (I actually originally wrote "Is DL the acronym for Delaware? If so..." and then changed it).
