Has the new FP viewing areas opened up more availability of the FP's for Wishes etc.? It still seems like a difficult FP to get, and just curious with the new viewing area's, if there is/will be more availabilty now.

1. Likely.
2. No doubt.
3. Actual numbers are likely in flux, right now, as they determine exactly how many guests
can fit into those areas without fist-fights breaking out. ;)

They have JUST opened up a new batch of FP+ for the new areas.
They will likely go pretty fast, once the word goes viral.

Regardless of whether the two new areas offer more FP+, with their vastly-improved prime viewing location,
the Wishes FP+ will likely be THE most sought-after (and hard to book) at MK, especially after Frozen's popularity has "melted."
(And, A&E Meet & Greet will be moving back to Epcot in the future, too.)

Below is a "work-in-progress" of my overview of the new Hub.
Some of the "outer" sidewalks shown have not been built yet.
Some of the unfinished areas have since been finished.
Again, a work-in-progress, all the way around.

I managed to grab a FP to this. But I have NO idea where the viewing area is. I had no idea it even existed until I made my FP picks, I saw it, and grabbed it because we were nearly trampled to death last time we went.

There are two "equal" FP+ viewing areas, just inside the new southern half of the Hub.

One (West) is directly in front of Casey's Hot Dogs and the other (East) is directly in front of the Plaza Ice Cream and restaurant area.

Both are prime viewing for Wishes and Celebrate the Magic.

I think it has! I've been lurking on the UK website recommended here for FP+ availability for WISHES for days!!! The entire week we are there [3/8-3/14] just opened up with FP+ reservation availability and we were finally able to secure FP+'s for this :)

I just got a FP for Wishes for 3/27 so they must have opened up more because I have been looking too. Thanks for the heads up!

I was able to grab 4 just now. They were available for both of our MK days (3/14 and 3/15)

Wow- I'm surprised it had that big of an effect, but I'm seeing availability for up to 5 even as late as next week and up to 30 days out! I haven't ever seen Wishes open at even 30 days before. Seems so strange to see the parade sold out yet availability for the fireworks! Good news!

Wow, those are beautiful, super prime areas now. Hopefully it stays as a seated area (self imposed I'm guessing) rather than everyone standing in the Wishes FP+ location as well.

One thing I REALLY like is the main street bypass by the Plaza. I HOPE they have this open during slow times as well like Sept. That whole area jams up a good 15 minutes before MSEP all the way until 15 minutes or more after Wishes, so about 2 hours. If there is a way to exit the park on either side of main street during that time, it will be a HUUUUUUGE plus.

I don't understand Wishes fast passes. There are lots of great viewing areas for Wishes. I happen to like to be between the castle and New Fantasyland, but I've not had a problem getting a good spot in front of the castle without camping out for an hour. It's in the sky. As long as you are not blocked by trees it's very visible. This just seems like more stupidity manufactured due to fp+.

Thanks to this thread, we just got ours for the busy Easter weekend. Yay! (Hoping it's less crowded than on main street - we've never seen the fireworks from the front due to crowds more than the long waits)

We find the crowd to be extremely hard to deal with and getting worse. If you want to see the projections on the castle, you have to have a better spot than just seeing in the sky. My daughter was pretty severely injured last year when a person pushing a wheel chair ran it over her foot and I spent the show with some woman behind me who was shorter using my shoulders as a brace to lift herself higher. We currently have a buffet scheduled that's not cheap just to avoid that again. If we get fp+ for it, it will save us a significant amount of money. We won't watch Wishes again without a FP+or reserved spot of some kind.

Not stupid at all. Yes, there are lots of places to see Wishes from, in some form or another. ...but as you know, the fireworks shoot off on both the left and right of the castle. Unless you are in front of the castle, it's difficult to impossible to see some of the fireworks, especially those to one side or another. You just don't get the full effect. Add to that any projections on the castle before and after the show, and the FP+ area truly is prime.

Like a PP poster said, I too have been able to walk into the hub and catch a good spot for Wishes. But when I saw the FP+ availability for a night I will be there, I jumped on it immediately. There is far too much jostling, shoving, and squishing in the hub for me to enjoy it. My BF and I have done the Dessert Party a few times strictly to have a comfortable, enjoyable place to watch Wishes. I look forward to my FP+ for next Friday night!

Agree with this! People are really horrid. So self centered. We were in fear the whole time we watched last time. We were squished, crushed, my little one had an adult choose to stand in front of her, even though we were right on the curb. Of course when a CM came to shoosh everyone back, he stepped back and almost on her, I snatched her up in time. But golly gee. No thank you!

While the new areas look fantastic for viewing, no way would I lock myself out of getting additional FPs by booking Wishes in my initial 3.
