I am in a Facebook Disney group, and one of the members said that yesterday they were signing up for Jedi Training outside of the HS entrance starting at 8:00. They told her that they were testing a new sign up system. Does anyone have any information on this?

This seems like it would be utter chaos. We have never done it, but hope to this spring. Really hope this is not so as we have planned things around it being inside (though I suppose we could adjust) and I was not counting on getting to DHS an HOUR before RD!

Would love to hear any info about this too. JTA is a high priority for my 8yo DS, we were planning on getting there before rope drop to hopefully get him signed up.

We were there on 2/3 around 8:15am (park opening at 9) and saw the sign up cart to the left hand side after we went through the bag check. We were surprised to see it there, but got in line and signed the kids up. Had our pick of shows and then got in the entrance line. It was actually great because then we headed straight for TSM at opening and got to ride it twice with hardly any wait.

Hmm. I wonder how this will pan out for an EMH day. We just moved our HS day to use the extra hour in the morning for a couple shorter lines at rides before having to get in line for JTA. We've never done it before but our 6 year old is really interested.

My guess is that it went smoothly because no one knew about it. If they continue it, and it becomes common knowlege expect lines to form really early in the morning.

So, what happens when people start showing up at 7 am? Is there anything preventing people from lining up earlier and earlier?

We were there on 2/5 and didn't notice the signup. We weren't looking for it (DD is too old) and we entered via the lesser used security check point (not sure if we missed it due to that). Great idea for folks who want to sign up - not so great for those of us that are heading directly for TSM first thing (let's face it having some people going to JTA sign ups is a good thing for us).

Even on an EMH day, I'd recommend going to jedi first, then TSMM. The line will have built for TSMM somewhat, but hopefully still shorter than you'll find the rest of the day. Unless your day is entirely flexible for jedi return times and you're willing to take a slight chance of getting shut out of jedi entirely. Unless this outside the park sign up continues and changes all previous experience ;)

There's nothing stopping folks from showing up at 7am now and being first in line at the turnstiles....Being able to do it before rope drop is a plus any way you slice it.

When there is EMH what time normally does Jedi training sign up start inside the parks? I assumed it would still be at the normal opening time.

When it's an EMH morning, JTA sign-ups begin as soon as the gates open.

Because this early sign-up is a test, it will be significant if it becomes "live." Spots will be taken by kids who didn't even know JTA existed thanks to sign-ups at the entrance.

When are sign ups actually beginning, though? I'm assuming the time the CM arrives doesn't change no matter how early you line up.

The time the parking lot opens and/or the time the buses and boats start running in the morning. I suppose you could have people walking over from the Epcot area resorts at 0-dark-30, but...

Thanks for the details! It does sound like it makes it easier to hit rides right away.

The parking lot for DHS is always opened since the 3rd shift CM park there. So there's no real barrier preventing parents to go there and line up early

Sounds good to me too. I just hope showing up 30 minutes before rope drop is early enough. What time would you guys show up?
