While the ap went up $20, losing the dvc discount of $24 really makes the increase worse. We were getting a $149 discount off of a basic ap and our discount dropped to $125 off now. So a double hit for us. I did get my APs a couple of weeks ago because we gave to make our FP choices next week.

Thanks for the info, Mike.

I'm hoping for a special DVC AP/PAP deal later his year.

Hope really does spring eternal, you know. :teeth:

That is a really big increase considering the economy. Perhaps Disney is making guests help pay for all the improvements they doing to keep up with the competition. And because the single day ticket increase is aimed at MK, are they trying to discourage those guests that only come to MK and skip the other parks? Or are they taking advantage that so many more guests go to MK versus the other Disney parks? In 2013 MK had 18,588,000 guests; Epcot 11,229,000; DHS 10,110,000; and AK 10,198,000. Over 7 million more guests at MK than the other two parks, that is a big difference. I wonder if Disney did the same with Disneyland versus California Adventure?

I am disappointed that Disney has decided to reduce the discount for DVC members and Florida residents. The two combined are a large fan base, but not that large that the decreased discount will be a significant amount income for Disney. Now I am worried that eventually the discount will go away completely.

I am so happy we bought before the increase! Thank You dis! :thanks: And everyone who was kind enough to answer all my question..
We ended up buy 5 AP for future trips in 2016 and 2018.
I'm sure prices will increase by then. But right now we are looking at a saving of $235!

Disney continues to nickel and dime the repeat customers like DVC and FAP.

I hope they invest in maintenance. We were there last week during a very busy week (Mardi Gras and Presidents' Day) and I was amazed at the number of rides that were out of service at various points. When at HS, at one point in the morning, both ToT and TSM were down and out of service for a lengthy time (TSM not resuming until mid to late afternoon) leaving RnR as the only "thrill ride" available (and the waits showed it). In MK, SWMT was down for most of the day (breaking down at least 4 times during the day) along with Astro Orbiter, BTMR, Pirates of the Caribbean, HM, Space Mountain, and a couple of smaller rides (Ariel already closed for refurb) throughout the day.

I am glad I got our PAPs last year with the special deal that ran in the early winter. While DS only went in June, DH and I also went in October for a weekend and are going again in April. I don't know the next time we are going so we are not going to renew.

DVC and FL residents were by far the biggest losers in this price increases. While most tickets went up in the 3-4% range DVC/FL AP's increased almost 7.5% for the PAP and just over 9% for the Deluxe AP's. Since 2012 most tickets have average a 13-14% increase as has the standard AP and PAP. And DVC AP has increased 21% and 15% respectively. The only thing that increased larger percentages was the NE option which was eliminated this year and the Premier Pass which has increased 28%.

Now would be a perfect time to throw a huge "special" out that equates to the avg increase seen. :smooth:

Such increases are why we're beginning to enjoy less park, more relaxation. ;)
