Hello! We are going on our first Disney cruise on Feb 13th (4 night Wonder). I have been wanting to go on one for a while, and my DH just surprised me with this last week! Talk about last minute planning! So I have been reading posts like crazy, trying to prepare! If anyone could answer a few questions, that would be great!
*We fly into Orlando on Sun. at 11:30am, should we take the Disney Bus to the Port or hire a car (this site rec. FLTours)? Which would get us there faster?
*What about the land excursions at Nassau? We have a 4 and a 6 year old, so I want to do something that is appropriate for them. Has anyone done the glass bottom boat? Since it's only 1 and 1/2 hours, I thought that would give us more "free" time on and off the boat. Also, can you just go to the beach on your own at Nassau?

Thanks!!

Hi Jenn :wave2:

We are also on your cruise. Check out the thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=532771 for the rest of us on this sailing. We are all meeting up on the ship at 3:00 outside of Scoops.

We are flying into Orlando on Saturday and are renting a car to get to the port (around $35.00 with Hertz). Since this is your first cruise, you may want to take the Disney bus. Your cruise docs should have some information about that. The only downside to the bus is that you get to the port with a lot of other people and you may have to wait in line a bit.

Last year my boys were 4 and 6. We did the glass bottom boat tour in Nassau and they enjoyed it. It allowed us more time to play on the ship. This year, I have booked a room at the Comfort Suites across from The Atlantis. This gives us full access to the waterpark, beach, etc.

You can take a cab to Cable Beach in Nassau on your own and use the beach area outside some of the hotels there. I believe the cost is very low (some may be free).

Looking forward to meeting up with you and your family on board. Stop by our cruise meets thread and say hi.

:wave2: we are on the same cruise.  .there is a thread on cruise meets too. this will be our first cruise so i cant really answer your questions just wanted to say HI. if you haven't already go to home depot and get alien green mickey ( paint chips) heads. we are getting together at 3:00 at scoops. :cool1: :cool1:

For Nassau I suggest going to Cable Beach for the day! What you do is take a taxi or the local bus to the Wyndham Resort. Go in at the Casino and out the back doors to their Pool (with a slide) and Beach area. You can use all of their facilities for free! Makes for a GREAT DAY! Don't forget to bring your own towels though.
There are many Threads about this on here. Just do a search on Cable Beach.
This is what we are planning for our day at Nassau and I'll be bringing a 2 YO.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think we will probably just keep it simple and head to Cable Beach for the day. Maybe stay on board a bit so the girls can go in the Mickey pool without it being too crowded.

Only 7 more days to go!! Hope the waters aren't too rough! Maybe we will see you on board!!
