^ Here's an excellent "POV" video of the ride from the good folks over at Coaster Views.
Seeing the video, it looks like a standard cookie cutter wild mouse similar to Primeval Hurl, and it doesn't even have the spinning...they just opened one of those at Six Flags New England which they ripped out of Kentucky Kingdom...and it may even have the same exact layout.
It's made by the same french coaster company that made Primeval Hurl.
I'm amazed how close it gets, at times, to The Grand Californian.
They should have extended the track to run through the lobby and back out again...
Now, THAT would be something....
Unfortunately that's how a lot of the rides at DCA are (or were...haven't been back since last summer).
It probably just a smaller version of what's inside Space Mountain.
I think Space Mountain is a quite different layout - about the only thing in common is that it is a smallish steel coaster.
Wild Mouse designs generally share a few characteristics - single cars and non-tilting (i.e. the cars don't roll on an axis with the curves) track.
I just cannot believe Disney thinks that level of theming is ok!!! Universal wouldn't have a ride as poorly themed.
I am surprised and sorely disappointed that they seem to think this is a good move for their brand!
I'm reminded of a quote I read several years ago...
"Tokyo Disneyland was a park built by Imagineers; California Adventure was a park built by accountants. "
