New bar menu on Dream

The Touring Plans twitter has some great photos from the post-dry dock Dream. One thing that caught my eye was an upcharge bar menu from 687, as there had been a recent discussion about this. But, the trip dips and chips option makes me wonder if the bar snack area will no longer be available.

All I got is times are changing on DCL and they are trying to be more like everyone else in all but the price to get on the ship.

Only thing that I don't understand is how come they are making all these changes at once to try and make more money from guests? If they had rolled them out over a longer time span, nobody might have noticed the grand plan.

So they're going to take out the whole snack buffet (that serves the whole bar area)? The snack buffet is in the passageway, close to the entrance to 687 (just past District Lounge):

Is that extra pay menu available in all bars/lounges?

Yes, I curious to hear reports from cruisers to see if they are eliminating the free options. Same with the ice cream. Is there still soft serve now that the Dream has the new for-pay gelato shop?

Hopefully someone on today's cruise can check out whether the free buffet is still in the District and if there's still a free ice cream option and report back.

If not, we'll be on the Dream in a couple of weeks and I will check this out.

The Fantasy is also offering bar food in O'Gills. This did not cut out the free food area but I noticed it wasn't as frequent. I only remember offerings there around 10:45PM.

I welcome a nice quiet place we can go and grab some non-Buffet food. I dont mind paying a bit extra to do so.

That's what I expect will happen. The free bar food and ice cream will still be available but with more limited hours.

Maybe next they will install some of those Coke freestyle machines so there can be up charge soda to go with the food.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm in a different mindset, but $8.00 for chips and dips is more than a "bit" extra. Especially since those items were previously on the included buffet bar. I'm hoping they still are.

I am curious as to what you feel they should cost. Chips and dip/salsa in most places would cost that on shore so in a world of the "Disney premium" I am not in the lease bit shocked at the cost.

Just to check since I was curious. In Mexico at Epcot, chips and guacamole at La Cantina de San Angel is $10.75 and you dont get queso or salsa.

I stand by my thoughts ... it isnt that crazy.
