A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

INKnBURN - April Fu!

Remember, trust no one today!! So what does this mean?!

April Fools pre-orders are up for INKnBURN - the April Fu Track Suit (a track suit is something they have never done before) and a mystery hoodie - the "Better Be Great Hoodie."

I ordered - because FOMO is real - and have no idea what the hoodie pattern will be. People have speculated that it'll be something with a bee (because of the name of it), but who knows! I'm excited though - last year's April Fools mystery item was the Fish Tank, and I LOVE that. And I don't have a hoodie from them yet.

As for the track suit...the close-up detail of the fabric is really pretty (there's a magnifying feature on the website), and I LOVE the colors. They're the colors of the college that I went to, so this is right up my alley. Add to that the fact that the fabric is the same as what they use on the skirts and shorts (so very light, silky and comfortable)...I'm excited for this!...

...of course, that's actually assuming that is really IS a track suit and I won't be surprised with something totally different when it does arrive!

Oh my goodness, all of that looks so Kill Bill to me. Did your husband bury you alive whilst preggers with your kid that I don't know about? If so, where is that trip report?!
I haven't started Daredevil because I feel like it's the rare show that my husband I and I would both like. I do watch Jessica Jones and it's really interesting- I can't say it's great or amazing just because if all the icky things in it but it for sure is attention gripping! As a dare if you want I'll have to make a watch in order list of all the MCU movies should you feel you need to get caught up in that world since you seem to like their Netflix shows so much it seems a shame you only get a slice of the universe!

Ok, so I finally saw enough InB that I bought the doggone mystery hoodie.....this is YOUR fault Shannon!! 8-)

I am so hoping that it's something I love, and I really want it to be BB8-although I know it's a long shot. Honestly, I just about had a coronary when you traded your BB8 shirt! Sacrilege!! :darth: Can you tell I'm a SW nerd? :chewy: I am glad you were able to trade for something you wanted, but oh-the agony!!

Your TRs (along with Giselle's) were a big influence and part of why I started running. Then you introduced me to Sparkle Skirts. I won't even tell you how many of those I have now; I love them and they are great but ....you get my point! :dogdance:

I loved Jessica Jones-would've never known about it if I hadn't read it on your reports. Daredevil-not so much but I had watched that before I read about it here. Netflix is such an addiction. I actually have become an AcornTV addict--alot of British mysteries and comedies so that takes up some of my time that would be given to Netflix.

Now, I've bought an InB hoodie. Is this a cult?!? :hippie:

No trip report for that one!! :rotfl2:

Daredevil is ickier than JJ - and like I said to Sarah, it's icky in a different way. It's way more gory. There were times during the second season where we had to fast-forward through scenes because it got to be too much (like...torture scenes and whatnot).

Definitely send me your list, I feel like I'm being a bad Disney fan or something by not watching the other movies. :confused3

I REALLY hope that the mystery hoodie is awesome...I have faith!

Netflix is totally addicting, and their original shows are so good! The next show in the Defenders series is supposed to come out in September - Luke Cage. I'm excited for that one!!
Now, I've bought an InB hoodie. Is this a cult?!? :hippie:
Cult? No. Addicting? Yes. :teeth:

Tinker Bell 15K Training - Week 4
Monday, March 28 - Sunday, April 3, 2016
9 miles completed!!!

Monday, March 28 (Lifting)

Another day of lifting! My leg is feeling better and better - I definitely noticed a difference today, especially when doing squats. The tight feeling was almost totally gone, which was so nice!

RACE UPDATE: when this injury happened I posted about a couple of local races that I'd registered for and would have to miss - a 10-miler in late April and a half marathon the weekend after Tink. :( The 10-miler is still going to be a DNS ("did not start") for me - I'm scheduled for a 5.5-mile long run that weekend, so yeah...a little over halfway there, which is NOT good enough! - but I decided to transfer my May half marathon registration to the 10K that will also be going on that day. This is the race where I originally signed up to do the marathon, then transferred to the half...and now yet another transfer to the 10K. Sigh. Expensive 10K (but not quite Disney expensive - in fact I don't even think they charged me a transfer fee to drop down to the 10K!) and I'm not expecting greatness as far as my pace or anything like that. But at least I'll still be participating...I'll even get a tiny little finisher medal. :)

In other news...1 week until opening day in the C-L-E! We LOVE baseball in the Ariel484 household. :yay: And 1 week until my birthday! Which means that I'm starting to get "birthday treats" from stores where I've signed up to be on their email lists. Here's what I've gotten:

  • Sephora VIB reward (Marc Jacobs mini lipstick and black eyeliner - both colors are AWFUL for me so the lipstick went to my mom and the eyeliner went to my 15-year-old cousin)
  • Victoria’s Secret $10 gift card
  • Free sandwich from Au Bon Pain
  • Free entree from First Watch (best breakfast food EVER!)
  • Free bagel and cream cheese from Bruegger's
  • Free reward from Panera (I was hoping for a pastry...turned out to be a cup of their regular coffee :confused3)
  • Free drink from Starbucks
  • A coupon from DSW
  • A coupon from Sunglasses Hut
Of these rewards the only ones I have for being a "frequent shopper" are the Sephora and Victoria's Secret ones...and with VS they actually sent me another gift card last week along with a notice that they were downgrading my credit card because I shop there so infrequently (not surprising...I use that credit card maybe twice per year and pay it off right there in the store - crazy interest rate! But in exchange I get this birthday gift card and some other rewards). The rest are just from being on store email lists. I don't plan on using the DSW or Sunglasses Hut coupons (I thought the Sunglasses Hut one was funny...I bought a pair of sunglasses there, like, 3 years ago, and here's coupon out of nowhere) but I FULLY plan on cashing in on my other free offers. Gotta love getting free stuff! :teeth:

Tuesday, March 29 (3-mile run)
So for this week in training, the long run distance stays the same at 4 miles, but my Tuesday run increased to 3 miles! Eek! Weirdly enough, this increase is a big sign to me that I'm getting back to "normal" when it comes to what I am used to in my running schedule. 3 miles has been my shortest weekly distance for quite a few years now, so it feels good to get back to this point (well, sort of...my Thursday runs will stay at 2 miles, but STILL).

This run was TOUGH! :faint: The first 10 minutes felt impossible and I couldn't figure out why...turns out the treadmill was set to a 1% incline and I hadn't realized it. I know some people recommend a 0.5-1% incline when doing runs on the treadmill, but I don't ever bother with that, so I definitely felt the difference today. I put the incline back at 0% but the damage was done - my legs felt crazy heavy for the rest of the run!

My intervals stayed at run 2:00/walk 1:00...for the first 15 minutes I did the runs at 5.7MPH (10:30/mile)...second 15 minutes they were at 5.8MPH (10:20/mile), and the last couple of run intervals were at 5.8MPH (10:10/mile). Total time was 36:03, 12:01/mile pace. Really tough run (cardio room felt like a sauna today!), but a really good one.

I haven't been wearing SparkleSkirts lately and the few times I do, it always looks and feels like SO MUCH FABRIC to me. Might try to sell a few more this weekend. :confused3
26128015332_fa641621bf_z.jpg

And I got Mr. A all registered for the Wine & Dine 10K yesterday - YAY!! :yay: So glad that's over! We were talking ADRs a little bit last night (our 6-month date is fast approaching - in fact I think I'll be making ADRs while in Disneyland for Tink weekend ) so I think we've got that nailed down. Just gotta figure out flights, which will be a little more challenging. But overall, SO excited for this trip!!

Wednesday, March 30 (Lifting)

Tra-la-la-LIFTING! It was good. My legs have been feeling really good today - I can really feel that I got a workout in. They’re not sore, exactly, I can just feel that they have been worked, if that makes sense. It’s a good feeling! :)

Guess who ran today - Mr. A! He did 1.5 miles outside and texted me this GIF as he was walking to cool down:
Everything-Hurts-and-Im-Dying-Parks-and-Recreation.gif

Despite that, he's still at a faster pace than I am...and this is the first time he's run in about 2 years. Men...:sad2:

Thursday, March 31 (2-mile run)

Another tough-but-good run today! This time the incline was at zero all the way through. :thumbsup2

2:00/1:00 intervals again...first half of the running intervals done at 5.7MPH (10:30/mile), second half at 5.8 MPH (10:20/mile). Total time was 24:06, 12:03/mile pace. Again, the cardio room was like a sauna today. Good preparation for running in California??

Alright, what's the pattern-mixing verdict on this outfit? I like it!

Friday, April 1 (Lifting + Yoga)
As usual, SO VERY HARD to get myself to lift on Fridays. But I did it and rushed off to yoga - which was a good class, but not a great class. Still super hard to balance on my numb left foot. :confused3

Saturday, April 2 (4-mile run)
Woohoo! Another week of training done!

As I was walking down the driveway to get the run started, a postal worker approached me - I knew there were going to be 2 packages from INKnBURN in his bag :hyper: so I followed him back to the house like a total weirdo.

Had to try on Shady! So much prettier in person, I love the green and gold tones. I just put it on right over what I was wearing to go run...I would say it does not go with my tech tubes! :rotfl2:
25615701804_da364503f3_z.jpg

And sans Shady...windy run today! I'm really looking forward to some decent spring weather...
25947585240_69a3aa3f45_z.jpg

This run was...just okay. The wind made it tough, I guess. I still did 2/1 intervals...I'd like to get to 3/1 by Tink weekend but I'm not sure how feasible that is at this point. We'll see. Total time for this run was 46:86, 11:44/mile pace, so a few seconds slower than last week's 4-miler. Ah well. I feel like this is the first week "back" I've had where the runs were just so-so, but hey, it happens. Part of training.

I got home, showered, and tried on my Rose pants. LOVE THEM!! Never wearing regular jeans again!
26194538166_7b4cb12b14_z.jpg

I got that picture right before the weather TURNED. We had snow, wind, hail and rain throughout the rest of the day...really weird.

And then Mr. A and I went out for our joint birthday dinner at our favorite restaurant! We don't normally get one another gifts, we're more about doing something together (dinner, a show, etc.). One of my favorite things we do each year. :lovestruc And we didn't eat ourselves sick, so that was a bonus.

Sunday, April 3 (Rest)
Rest day! :teeth:

Yay for switching to the 10K ... it may not be the distance you had originally planned, but it's definitely a great step if you're feeling up to doing 10Ks two weekends in a row! Plus, the medal is all that really matters, so as long as you get a medal, you're awesome!

Happy almost birthday! And yay for birthday freebies and coupons - that's the best part of birthdays!

I used to run with the treadmill at a 0.5% incline. But honestly? The only difference I noticed was in my knee ... the incline made me more likely to have knee pain. So I stopped. I know that some people recommend it, but I don't find it to be helpful for me.

In terms of the pattern mixing ... I'm neurotic about not mixing patterns (seriously ... I will only "mix" patterns if it's the exact same pattern), so I personally wouldn't wear it, but I think it looks okay (and I would not secretly make fun of someone wearing that pattern combination, which is really the highest praise I can give for an outfit).

April Fools pre-orders are up for INKnBURN - the April Fu Track Suit (a track suit is something they have never done before) and a mystery hoodie - the "Better Be Great Hoodie."

I just couldn't do the track suit. I debated about it for awhile, but I'm just not sure I'd wear it and I've already spent so much money lately. I did order that hoodie though. I'm not always the brightest, so a BB8 never occurred to me, but I would love if that is what it is. Hopefully no matter what it is, I'll love it!! I'm anxious to see what the track suit is like once they start shipping out.

This stuff is addictive isn't it? Crazy!! I'm excited to see what we get for that mystery hoodie though.

Gisele and I know what the good stuff is! :thumbsup2 @ZellyB And yeah her trip reports are pretty awesome! :yay:
Aw shucks! Thanks you guys. :love2:

Great job on a solid week of training. You are really getting back there. Good that Mr. A is getting out there too. That GIF is hilarious.

Great shot! The Rose pants and Shady look lovely. I wasn't as keen on the pictures of that one, so I passed on it, but it looks great on you! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful birthday dinner. Happy Birthday to both of you!!

Oh I love all of your birthday freebies! Great ideas for ones I don't do! I feel the exact same way about presents- I would much prefer an experience than a thing! Glad you had a great birthday dinner with the hubs!

I love the pic of you in the inkburn pants. Really cool!

Oh and I think the pattern mixing looks great! It all goes well and doesn't clash in my opinion.

I mix patterns all the time...I think your mixing looks splendid as it's a color and then black/white so it's not like it's clashing! I never wear jeans as I can't stand them, so I'm really tempted on those Rose pants, those look awesome!
Great getting back into a more normal feel to your training! I'm there with you on getting back into 'normal' running, I had a great 3 miler last week, then on Saturday I tried longer & everything on my right side felt off?!?! I retied my shoe like 8 times as my foot and leg just felt numb no matter what. I have no races though till wine & dine.
Oh & yes can't wait for good Spring weather too, we've had soooo much wind too, I guess it's good resistance training, ha!

Ok Shannon I am finally here and following along, although I have 36 pages to get caught up on so I better get busy!!

Totally - all about the medal. This one has a guitar that spins! It's about the size of a quarter, but still. :)
Happy almost birthday! And yay for birthday freebies and coupons - that's the best part of birthdays!
Thanks! :) Getting the freebies is always exciting. I got a few more over the weekend but they might be done now.

Yeah, I could see it being an issue if you're training for a road race and you do 100% treadmill running during training, but I don't...so I just don't pay attention to it. Plus, it's hard to run on an incline!! :faint:

I don't blame you for stopping if you get knee pain. Knee pain is no good.
And I will take that praise! ::yes:: :yay:

Yeah, we'll see about the track suit. Apparently what is picture is exactly what it is! :scratchin

I read a theory about the hoodie - someone pointed out that if you look on the website, it's in the "metamorphosis" art style tab (which has the more nature-y art styles - monarch, chenille, chameleon, etc.), and since it's "Better Be Great," now people think it may be something to do with bees? Hmmm...
This stuff is addictive isn't it? Crazy!! I'm excited to see what we get for that mystery hoodie though.
YES.
Aw shucks! Thanks you guys. :love2:
:teeth:
Great job on a solid week of training. You are really getting back there. Good that Mr. A is getting out there too. That GIF is hilarious.
Thanks! I feel like the progress has been slow lately, but at least it's there. :)
Great shot! The Rose pants and Shady look lovely. I wasn't as keen on the pictures of that one, so I passed on it, but it looks great on you! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful birthday dinner. Happy Birthday to both of you!!
Thanks!! Photo credit to Will for that one. :)

We did have a great birthday dinner - thank you!! :)
Oh I love all of your birthday freebies! Great ideas for ones I don't do! I feel the exact same way about presents- I would much prefer an experience than a thing! Glad you had a great birthday dinner with the hubs!
I love the freebies. So far there's one that I am missing that I could have sworn I've gotten in the past - free scoop of ice cream from a local place. Sadness! But at least I got other good stuff. :)
I love the pic of you in the inkburn pants. Really cool!
Thank you!! :)
Oh and I think the pattern mixing looks great! It all goes well and doesn't clash in my opinion.
Yay, thanks!! My goal each day is not to clash (seriously). :)

That's what I thought, too - like, if those shorts were orange and white instead of black and white, it just would not go.

I love the Rose pants. Cannot recommend them highly enough :)
Great getting back into a more normal feel to your training! I retied my shoe like 8 times as my foot and leg just felt numb no matter what.
UGH. That is so frustrating, and I can honestly say that I know how you feel. :( It's weird how it can really feel up and down from run to run like that.
I have no races though till wine & dine.
I hope you feel better by then. I hope we BOTH do!!
Oh & yes can't wait for good Spring weather too, we've had soooo much wind too, I guess it's good resistance training, ha!
Ha, I was thinking about that - it reminded me of in college, when I would lifeguard during swim team practice (easiest job ever) and the swimmers would sometimes "sprint" from one side of the pool to the other with a parachute-type thing attached to their waists...so it would create a ton of drag but then I guess it would feel way easier to sprint once the parachute thing was taken off. So next time I run and it's not windy at all (assuming that ever happens) I'll just be breaking all kinds of records thanks to my wind training...right? :faint:
Ok Shannon I am finally here and following along, although I have 36 pages to get caught up on so I better get busy!!
Oh hey there, crazy ultra-runner Chris!! :yay:

Pattern mixer right here...but yeah that green shirt with the pixel-ish buffs...maybe not my personal style :)
I do think that shirt screams "Avengers race" even though I know literally nothing about Avengers. I'm so behind in movies!

Congrats on all the free birthday stuff...one of my favorite things to do year round. And yeah, I only used my Sephora birthday lipstick once, maybe I need to go dig it out of my bag and use it again. The eyeliner is gone...but I rip through eyeliners like nobody's business.

Thumbs up to some nice run times on the treadmill and bless you for lifting!...I still am scared of it and have weak noodle arms. Maybe one day I will finally try to catch up my arms to me legs.

I got my rose pants on Saturday. I love them. Not sure I can wear them to work maybe if I sized up. I have a feeling I am in between sizes. These are fine but bum hugging. Great for weekends, travel and everyday. Another bonus, the dog hair brushes right off them.

Do you hand wash your stuff, or put them in the machine on hand wash cycle?

Oh no?? You don't think that works?! :rotfl2:

That's what other people were saying about it. But I am not familiar enough with Avengers to know either. :confused3

Thanks! :teeth: Yeah I got block eyeliner and a sort of dark mauve-colored lipstick. I didn't even try the eyeliner (I stick to brown) and when I tried the lipstick my husband was just like, "No. NO. NOPE. NOPE"...so that had to go. :rotfl2:

Well, despite the lifting, I STILL feel like I have weak noodle arms. :confused3 At least I don't feel like a total noodle though. :)

Yay!! Glad you like them. I too have found that there are 2 sizes that work for me, but with the bigger size I had to get them hemmed. :confused3 I hear you on the bum hugging. :)
Do you hand wash your stuff, or put them in the machine on hand wash cycle?
I wash all of my InB stuff inside out, in cold water, on delicate cycle. And I hang it all to try. :)

Okay, I am seriously considering he Rose pants. I have no idea what size I would be and I can't find a size chart on their website. How can I figure this out?? I am a small in Sparkle Skirts and Athleta yoga pants. I wear 6/8 in Old Navy jeans, which seem to be all I wear. I should probably wait as they are expensive and I am sizing down (Yay!) but I am afraid they will sell out and I won't be able to get them later. My birthday is this month so I may ask for them....

ETA: I found the size chart! I just wasn't looking correctly lol!

I should probably wait as they are expensive and I am sizing down (Yay!) but I am afraid they will sell out and I won't be able to get them later. My birthday is this month so I may ask for them....

ETA: I found the size chart! I just wasn't looking correctly lol!
Ha! I was just gonna post it.

I can do my regular jeans size or 1 size down. As you can see on the size chart, the pants are long so they may need to be hemmed - I had a pair hemmed and they turned out fine. :)

Congrats on the sizing down!! :)

Thanks! I have very long legs so not worried about length lol. I will measure when I get home - don't have a measuring tape at work (yeah, I'm supposed to be working but can I help it if I am super efficient and already have everything done??:))

I went ahead and ordered the Rose pants and they are on their way! I cannot wait! They look great on you! :yay:I was literally stalking their website daily checking to see if they were sold out yet, on the fence about whether to get them. Finally realized how disappointed I would be if they were sold out so I bit the bullet and ordered!

9 miles in a week is great progress! Glad you got Mr A in for the 10K - it's nice you guys can do a race together once in awhile! For the first time ever, my husband is doing a rD event with me for the Dark Side Challenge next weekend! I laid down the expectations...we WILL stop for character pictures, this isn't the local half marathon where you go for some goal time you have in the back of your head! Surprisingly enough - he has gotten all into it and is making his costumes from scratch (rebel pilot and Darth Goofy)! So proud of him - sometimes they can surprise us!

Happy belated birthday! Free stuff is a great reason to be born! I'm glad you are feeling stronger in training. I think you are making excellent progress, and well, at least a 10k is still a potential proof of time. I'm feeling the pinch because my super awesome POT is about to expire so I need to get super awesome again because I've gotten used to my corral placements and don't want to lose them just because I have been lazy in training. I think I'm signed up for 5 10ks through June to try to get a good one. My training has just not been an awesome effort.
Y'all are thinking the shirt looks Avengers because the shirt is Groot, who is in Guardians of the Galaxy.

I've been thinking about a MCU order in the back of my mind while I've been trying to furiously finish my Dark Side half costumes- it might be kind of fun to put together a list of what to watch. I usually do something nerdy like this before a new Marvel movie comes out and since the next Captain America is happening soon, this will be right on schedule! And no, I don't have a lot of friends, thank you for asking :upsidedow

Groot :lovestruc

It wasn't until I saw you mention that earlier in this thread that I realized that was what the shirt was designed to look like. It still didn't appeal to me that much, but I do have a lot of Groot love.

Lucky you!! I wish I had longer legs...

I'm thinking that you're just a great worker from what you're saying! :)

Thanks! I'm mostly feeling good about my progress...last week and this week have not been as great as my previous weeks but I think I just need to take the good with the not-quite-as-good and remember that I've come far overall (I'm, like, saying this to you and also giving myself a pep talk at the same time :upsidedow).

That's so awesome that you and your husband are going to do the races together! And smart of you to tell him the rules of running at Disney ahead of time. ::yes:: So cool that he is making costumes! I can't wait to see pictures!

This will be our third race together (after Jingle Jungle 5K in 2013 and the Castaway Cay 5K in 2014). He has longer legs than I do so it's not ideal for us to run together (he has to slow down or I have to speed up), but I still enjoy it! I'm doing my favorite thing in my favorite place with my favorite person, how could I not?! :lovestruc

Have so much fun next weekend!!!

Thanks! I think so too! :)

Right there with you. My super awesome times are officially too old, and it stinks. I have my 10K after Tink coming up and then I may try to find another to at least use in 2017, but I think I'm stuck with my less-than-ideal time for Wine & Dine. Ah well...it won't be terrible or anything, just not as good as what I've had int he past.

I definitely see the resemblance now that you've posted that picture!!

I prefer the company of nerdy people. :thumbsup2 You know...since I am one. :upsidedow

You'll be pleased to know that I reserved the Star Wars movies from my local library (episodes 4-6), so I'm going to make myself watch them. I need to dig up the "watching order" you posted a few pages back...I'm nervous though because I feel like there's no way I won't watch them and then hate myself for trading away that BB-8 shirt!!!

Yeah, they (InB) can't officially say that, but there is a resemblance! ;)

Groot is Guardians of the Galaxy, right? I need to see that movie too - I LOVE Christ Pratt!!
