Yay for switching to the 10K ... it may not be the distance you had originally planned, but it's definitely a great step if you're feeling up to doing 10Ks two weekends in a row! Plus, the medal is all that really matters, so as long as you get a medal, you're awesome!
Totally - all about the medal. This one has a guitar that spins! It's about the size of a quarter, but still.
Happy almost birthday! And yay for birthday freebies and coupons - that's the best part of birthdays!
Thanks!

Getting the freebies is always exciting. I got a few more over the weekend but they might be done now.
I used to run with the treadmill at a 0.5% incline. But honestly? The only difference I noticed was in my knee ... the incline made me more likely to have knee pain. So I stopped. I know that some people recommend it, but I don't find it to be helpful for me.
Yeah, I could see it being an issue if you're training for a road race and you do 100% treadmill running during training, but I don't...so I just don't pay attention to it. Plus, it's hard to run on an incline!!
I don't blame you for stopping if you get knee pain. Knee pain is no good.
In terms of the pattern mixing ... I'm neurotic about not mixing patterns (seriously ... I will only "mix" patterns if it's the exact same pattern), so I personally wouldn't wear it, but I think it looks okay (and I would not secretly make fun of someone wearing that pattern combination, which is really the highest praise I can give for an outfit).
And I will take that praise!
I just couldn't do the track suit. I debated about it for awhile, but I'm just not sure I'd wear it and I've already spent so much money lately. I did order that hoodie though. I'm not always the brightest, so a BB8 never occurred to me, but I would love if that is what it is. Hopefully no matter what it is, I'll love it!! I'm anxious to see what the track suit is like once they start shipping out.
Yeah, we'll see about the track suit. Apparently what is picture is exactly what it is!
I read a theory about the hoodie - someone pointed out that if you look on the website, it's in the "metamorphosis" art style tab (which has the more nature-y art styles - monarch, chenille, chameleon, etc.), and since it's "Better Be Great," now people think it may be something to do with bees? Hmmm...
This stuff is addictive isn't it? Crazy!! I'm excited to see what we get for that mystery hoodie though.
YES.
Aw shucks! Thanks you guys.
Great job on a solid week of training. You are really getting back there. Good that Mr. A is getting out there too. That GIF is hilarious.
Thanks! I feel like the progress has been slow lately, but at least it's there.
Great shot! The Rose pants and Shady look lovely. I wasn't as keen on the pictures of that one, so I passed on it, but it looks great on you! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful birthday dinner. Happy Birthday to both of you!!
Thanks!! Photo credit to Will for that one.
We did have a great birthday dinner - thank you!!
Oh I love all of your birthday freebies! Great ideas for ones I don't do! I feel the exact same way about presents- I would much prefer an experience than a thing! Glad you had a great birthday dinner with the hubs!
I love the freebies. So far there's one that I am missing that I could have sworn I've gotten in the past - free scoop of ice cream from a local place. Sadness! But at least I got other good stuff.
I love the pic of you in the inkburn pants. Really cool!
Thank you!!
Oh and I think the pattern mixing looks great! It all goes well and doesn't clash in my opinion.
Yay, thanks!! My goal each day is not to clash (seriously).
I mix patterns all the time...I think your mixing looks splendid as it's a color and then black/white so it's not like it's clashing! I never wear jeans as I can't stand them, so I'm really tempted on those Rose pants, those look awesome!
That's what I thought, too - like, if those shorts were orange and white instead of black and white, it just would not go.
I love the Rose pants. Cannot recommend them highly enough
Great getting back into a more normal feel to your training! I'm there with you on getting back into 'normal' running, I had a great 3 miler last week, then on Saturday I tried longer & everything on my right side felt off?!?! I retied my shoe like 8 times as my foot and leg just felt numb no matter what.
UGH. That is so frustrating, and I can honestly say that I know how you feel.

It's weird how it can really feel up and down from run to run like that.
I have no races though till wine & dine.
I hope you feel better by then. I hope we BOTH do!!
Oh & yes can't wait for good Spring weather too, we've had soooo much wind too, I guess it's good resistance training, ha!
Ha, I was thinking about that - it reminded me of in college, when I would lifeguard during swim team practice (easiest job ever) and the swimmers would sometimes "sprint" from one side of the pool to the other with a parachute-type thing attached to their waists...so it would create a ton of drag but then I guess it would feel way easier to sprint once the parachute thing was taken off. So next time I run and it's not windy at all (assuming that ever happens) I'll just be breaking all kinds of records thanks to my wind training...right?
Ok Shannon I am finally here and following along, although I have 36 pages to get caught up on so I better get busy!!
Oh hey there, crazy ultra-runner Chris!!
