need suggestions - non-Dis trip!

    I'm heading to the area the weekend after Thanksgiving (I know!) not to visit Disney, but to check out houses! :cool1: The DH and I are considering buying a vacation house near Disney. My two little ones (11 and 5) are going along....DH is not. We will not have time to do anything other than look at homes and MAYBE hang out at DD or go to a special dinner.

    Anyway, we usually rent a home offsite when we go to Disney (which is one of the reasons we are thinking of buying), but we are staying only 2 nights, so that may not be as sensible this trip. Where should we stay? We prefer a condo or suite, so I can take care of most meals. We want to spend as little as possible but stay in a safe and clean place. Being able to view the fireworks from the hotel/condo site would be a huge bonus (worth paying a little extra for). Any suggestions??

    Its tough to find all the amenities you're looking for while keeping costs down, unfortunately. If you wanted to drop the ability to cook, and eat out cheaply while spending a little more on rooms, you could more easily find a place to view the fireworks. If that's something you're interested in...

    Check out the Mousesavers site for deals at DTD hotels. There are many to choose from. It will also show you some options (not in DtD) that have suites like Caribe Royale. You might also want to check out the Swan And Dolphin for deals. Won't get you a kitchen, though.

    think most condo require 3 days.

    Hi Tia - you'll get 2 days if you're willing to put the time in browsing property owners' availability calendars. Many owners will be keen to fill an awkward and un-saleable 2 day slot in their calendars with bookings either side. If you can spend 2-3 hrs going through owners' calendars you are sure to find a few 2 day slots. You'll be able to negotiate a good deal as 2 days are pretty unlikely to be rented by an owner. if you need further info or guidance on where to look PM me.
