Need some opinions about upgrading

Hey all,

We are booked for an April 2014 cruise on the wonder for 5 nights. For another $315, or an extra 15%, we can upgrade from a cat 9d to a cat 5c. What would you do? It is me, hubby and two girls 12 and 8. Thanks!

If you can upgrade without having to compromise the rest of your plans for the cruise (i.e., port adventures, adult dining, etc.), I'd do it. But then I LOVE having a verandah!

Is there a cat 8 available on your cruise? I would upgrade to that because the room will be a little bigger and your storage space for clothes at the desk will double. We really missed that in our cat 5 last month compared to the cat 8 we had on the MV last year.

For that amount of money we would upgrade, seems like a pretty good deal to me.

If you think you will use $315 dollars worth of time in your room then go for it. Its $63 a day. However 15% is a bit much. Think how excited we all are when we save 10% for booking another cruise on board. $315 is more than you pay for tips. So....

You could put that $315 towards something you can keep forever like memories/photos from a fantastic port adventure or a beautiful Disney souvenier on board like that gorgeous DCL sweatshirt I have my eye on.

If it were ME I wouldn't do it. I would put the extra money towards a memory that I would remember and talk about in the future BUT then use my OBB 10% discount to book a 5C for our next cruise.

OP states they are sailing on the Wonder, which does not have Cat 8 rooms.

I've not been on our cruise yet...121 days woo hoo but I can concur with why I BOOKED with DCL

No casino (less yucky smoke), no push on alcohol (don't drink with my kiddos around - Don't really want my kids around casinos or booze) and of course all the great details that Disney never overloooks. They link of it long before I do...I love that!
