We are going to need to get additional points for a trip in October 2007. We currently own at BWV with a June use year. It seems that doing a point transfer from another member would be the easiest and least risky way to go. We will probably need 80-100 points. I see that members can now only do one transfer in/out per year. We've never done this before and I have lots of questions. Does use year matter on the transferred points - does it have to match ours? Do we have to get the points from someone with the same home resort? What happens if we receive the transferred points and then cannot use them? Can they be banked? Do the points become our points once transferred (and owner can't get them back)? Are there any other rules regarding use of transferred points? Other than on the DIS, are there other ways to find reputable people who want to transfer/rent points? How do you handle the money part of the transaction (I see people mention paypal. If we just transfer the money to the other person's paypal account,do we have protection?) Any tips to avoid scammers/fraud? Thanks for any suggestions or help!
