OK. I am trying to plan our trip for DD and I to Disney. I have been saving MyPoints since last Christmas and thanks to Tupperware ;) have 19,300 points.

I thought about the webbie, but wondered if that really is the best? I plan on booking everything online so it will work, but webbies are so much more expensive than some other rewards:p

    Thanks!

wow that's a lot of points! perhaps you could try a combination of webcerts used to pay off your room or something like that, along with some restaurant gc's. pick places that you like... if i had a choice i'd try out bahama breeze!

i think the webcerts are the best plan though, they are not more expensive than many of the rewards (such as Kmart)... and they are "versatile" in that they are so similar to cash. some people redeem them at disney stores (some have had luck in printing out the webcert and having the CM enter the number in by hand, rather than getting the plastic card) - and they buy disney dollars which also help with food, etc at the parks.

    have a great time!

Thanks for the reply! This has been one way of saving for the trip that has been easy and has really worked;) How else can you painlessly get money:Pinkbounc

I don't think we are going till December so I might sit on this for a little longer and see if I can get my Christmas shopping done during the back to school extra points period they will probably have. (DD's Christmas is Disney and a few things I already bought) AND I'm crossing my fingers for an amazing offer like the Fairytale for early-mid December:earsboy:

Actually, what I do is cash out for a webbie, use it to order a Disney Store gift card online, and take the giftcard to the mall and get Disney Dollars. I got $150.00 Disney Dollars that way.

Not every CM will do it, but there were no restrictions against it in the GC rules, so the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City does it.

    Good luck,
    Adele

Since I do most of my grocery shopping at our Super Walmart, I cash out for Walmart GC's. I then take the amount my GC cards were for out of my "grocery" budget & put it into my 'Disney" savings. I hope that makes sense. It's been adding up slowly, but surely:)

The "best deals" are Rainforest, Barnes&Noble, JCPenney's and a few others. Even BRU/TRU/KRU pays at a slightly better rate than a Webbie. So if you plan on eating at Rainforest, or want to do some shopping at these places, then I'd get the GC for them. And probably sooner rather than later. And just set aside the money you who have spent in your Disney Fund.

PM me if you want my Excel Spreadsheet that figures out most of the pts/$ for redemptions.

Or just know that 140 pts/$ (i.e., 1400 pts for $10 GC) is about the average, and calculate from there.

WalMart GC are no different than $25 Webbies (both 140 pts/$), except for paying for the plastic Webbie card ($6.95, but I did it anyway). Gas Cards are also the same (140 pts).

The "worst deals" are the ones that are 1500 pts for $10, or any of the $5 GC. The absolute "best deal" (of the ones I'm interested in anyway) is the Barnes&Noble or B. Dalton $25 cards, but I only need so many books. :) They're only 110 pts/$.

    HTH!

    And happy GC shopping!

(I've got a $25 webbie buring a hole in my pocket, and need to get to the DS soon!)

I usually do mine for RFC gifc certificates. We like to go there and eat and have a drink before heading to pleasure island at least once or on a trip and if we go to Animal Kingdom its the only full service restaurant there I believe. I have four of the GCs in my Mickey Mouse cookie jar (my wdw savings bank!) so I guess I will be going there quite a bit on my next trip. Good thing they have an extensive menu.

I agree that it would be better to cash out sooner and later simply because the status of MyPoints parent company, United, is uncertain. You would be heartbroken if iy closed down and you los all those points!
