** JUST DOUBLE RIGHT CLICK W/YOUR COMPUTER MOUSE OVER THE ABOVE VIDEO & IT WILL PLAY 4 U **

The room was very well put together.....luved the overall layout of their property.....just remember - when taking their elevator? It's level 0 NOT level 1 you push when you wanna get to the lobby.

the pic above????? One of the few RARE times my camera acted right....:confused3...RRRRRRR!!!!!!! okokok......I am glad I brought my Ipod!!:goodvibes

Looks like all pics and video now will be shot using my Ipod.

ANYWHO -
From the accents to the food - I am at home.:cool2:
Staying at the Harte & Garter Hotel & Spa & yes, really enjoyed talking with Sana (Front Desk) as she helped me feel just welcomed even more into London.:goodvibes

More to come I promise.:goodvibes

Weather? Slightly overcast w/light rain. It is what it is.:upsidedow
ok...I am off to see some of the sights but get cleaned up a wee bit b 4 we all meet back at the hotel in 4 hours.

Psstt!!!! I am just quickly sending out little daily blips.....will expand later I promise.
P.S.S. I just saw my very first pasty in a restaurant. ok.......I WANT ONE!!!:thumbsup2

TOOOO LATE!

Just 'had to go there" and try one....along with 4 chocolate chip cookies and a mug of hot chocolate around 4:30pm = YUMM!!!!!

But......
I am thinking now that wud go just right w/some wine and some chocolate afterwards......;)
Hmmmmmm.....I think I am foreshadowing here just a bit........
with the results I found in Eton I think ya gonna like.:woohoo:

More to come on this I promise.:)

DAY ONE:moped:
Saturday August 9th
Temp in Dallas, Texas 105 degrees w/sunny skies:crazy2:

Well, 6:30pm came upon me
before I knew it and it was time for the doors to close on that big ol 74 something er rather of a plane and we were off for jolly ol England minus Ireland.:goodvibes

I got the chance to read a few dozen pages or so from the book, "Mary Poppins She Wrote" - very in depth person that PL Travers.

VERY IN DEPTH didn't know her surname was her dad's first name......hope I said that right.:goodvibes
And yes, her Dad?? Very sad person who liked to dream big but always wound up as a failure in life.
And to boot - she has this thing about Nannies. More to yak about later on her only up to about page 78.:scratchin

ANYWHO -
I caught some much needed x,y & even a few zzzzzzsssss on the plane before some turbulence woke me up about 2 hours prior to us landing.

and WOWZERS!!

Was that landing ever something else!! I mean, you could only see fog and that's IT!!

then.....all of a sudden - BAM!!!

THERE IS THE FREAKIN' RUNWAY!!

Yes......we landed quite 'hard' to say in the lest and combined with a rather nasty cross wind, I felt the aircraft tilt back to the left rather hard.

** HUH?? **

I shut my eyes trying NOT to think about it and thankfully we tilted back to the right and all was well.:littleangel:

IMO, navigating thru Heathrow is very easy to do, just have the patience and keep your wits about cha as your overall objective is to just get your your hotel and chill out......get cleaned up and realize:

WOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!!! I AM HERE!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The ride on over to the hotel was nice and very jaw dropping - from the countryside (no.....I promise I will NEVER USE THE WORD "QUAINT" WHILE BLOGING ABOUT ENGLAND - lol) to the various accents I am hearing ever since I stepped off the plane.

** THIS IS A FUN PLACE & I LUV IT **

But wait!!!!! Now, that I am getting untracked & beginning to get my "land legs" back up underneath me, gotta boogy off to dinner followed by a 7:30p walking tour of the tower part of Windsor Castle, the private stables & estate of the Queen (AKA the 'backside of Windsor Castle'), etc followed by seeing the crookedest house in the city and a few other fun parts of the city as well.:woohoo:

UP NEXT

Enjoying the view my just outside my hotel room window & other assorted silliness on my day 2 of "All THINGS ENGLAND MINUS IRELAND.":goodvibes

P.S. glad to see my pictures have stopped "deleting" on me. Sorry about that.
More pics and video to come I promise.

I will so enjoy following your trip, am anxious to hear about your adventures and see your photos :thumbsup2! We did a tour trip of England, Scotland, and Wales, 13 yrs ago for DH's retirement. Beautiful country, friendly folk, good food and entertainment, and lots of new experiences :teeth:. Cheers, hope it's been a wonderful trip! Good luck as you head home across the pond to a smoother landing! :goodvibes

Is that picture the view outside your room or the tower section of Windsor castle?

The pasty looks good : )

The tower section of the castle (my best guess) is much more the 'backside" (the far far right from where the entrance is for you & I)
of the Castle as what I see closest from my room is the outer walls, etc.......imo, the far left hand side of the castle)
So, IMO......the far far right hand side of the castle is where "THAT OTHER WOMAN" is buried, the Queens' horses, where Elton John lives, etc.......

ANYWHO -
Got video finally up that was shot from the inside of my room. So here is where it get funny - it's about 68 degrees right now and I have the windows thrown open and the shades pulled open with that beautiful castle ever so lightly lit up with............

me nibbling on not one, not two, not three but FOUR.....COUNT 'em.......FOUR pieces of carmel / chocolate fudge....

....while sipping on some
Merlot wine I bought while in Eton earlier from today:

(yes....I DO PLAN on doing LOTS of walking tomorrow when we visit the Cotswolds & the birthplace of Shakesphere, etc)popcorn::

and that Pasty?? That's what I 'get';)
for watching those Rick Steves.com dvd's about Europe and there on one segment, he talked /raved about those and when I saw one today, my mind just said "BUCKET LIST!";)

ANd I tell ya, they are really not that bad.:goodvibes

DAY "ONE"
HIGH TEMP IN WINDSOR: 71 degrees
Light Rain:goodvibes

There was just white EVERYWHERE!! you couldn't see a thing! Except of course the rain on the outside of the plane's windows slowly cascading down and off the plane but WOWZERS!! It was just rainy, foggy w/"blecky" visibility......I was in seat 30C and even the Steward sitting 2 seats in front of me was even remarking to a Customer something about how the pilot navigates by sight when he can't see AKA radar or what have you.

You know, one of those conversations how are aware of but aren't really paying a whole lot of attention to......
then suddenly..... I look up and outta know where, I see land.

** OUCH!! **

I grab my armrest but I don't wanna appear to be Goofy about it if that makes sense.....
and sure enuf, IMO - he landed hard just only a few seconds later and yes, I felt the plane's wing dip to the left in the process.....

I bet to the Pilot he is "Old hat" to this but to me, it was all new and it made me close my eyes and just wish it away.

But sure enuf, a few seconds later - all was well.:goodvibes

and OMG!!!!! Seeing Windsor Castle??? WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Now I see where George and Martha Washington get their ideas from when they built Mount Vernon.

I mean, the way the castle is put together is just so mind boggling it keeps you spell bound - just be ware that the gift shops there are more expensive than other places around town. No worries tho, I love to collect lanyard pins so I have now one from Windsor.

Best thing I liked about the castle was the Queen's Dollhouse.:goodvibes
Cuz it just to me makes Walt's dollhouse he made for Diane
as well as Henry Ford's dollhouse he also made for his daughter pale in comparision.:worship:

Besides......while I was at the Christopher Wren hotel earlier today (while near Eton) , it appeared I made their day by saying, "You ROCK":thumbsup2
Yes, complete with the hand gesture.;)

I am still on the hunt to see what new phrases I will be learning while over here.

UP NEXT: HOW N-o-T to say the word "Quaint" while describing the Cotswolds.popcorn::

RATS!! The Queen is in Scotland until late November -

even saw a little bit of this while there....;)

(just that there was one Bloke walking behind 'em......too funny!)

and of course -
the building's archetechure - LUV IT!!

Look closely and you will be Gargoyles everywhere

Tho, they don't want to to take any pics nor video once inside.

Ok -
onward to the Cotswolds.:goodvibes

** nice **;)

there, I said it. okokokok - I will admit it - it was fun to see a thatched roof (in the Cotswolds) that has chicken wiring (to protect the roof from
pests).:goodvibes

We are on our way from Shakesphere's birthplace, the Cotswolds & will be staying tonight north in Yorkshire @ the Yorkshire Hotel.:goodvibes

Here is one of the two views from my room -

and the interior -(after I was room moved from #107 to this room due to it looking IMHO like a trash dump) -looked very nice:

and the adjoining bathroom was nice although there were no instruction left for the Guest on how to use said bathtub; thus the time I used the shower?? I was forced to leave a calf-deep pool of water filling up the bathtub w/the water temps being very hot & uncomfortable.:sad2:

Again, this is just my opinion but I was determined to not -

1) let this hotel's attitude towards the Guest get the better of me
(see below for more of an explanation)

nor IMHO, I was determined to not allow:

2) its questionable electrical system (it shorted out my 4 1/2 month old I-pod 64) and
nor
3) its interior décor that is in bbbaaadddddd need of a full renovation
(read below for more justification behind my opinion)

...get to me either - instead
I went out today & was
Having fun - glad 2 c that we have Wi-Fi while on "motorcoach" time.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
as I am typing this is now while en route to Yorkshire, I can tell I am getting just a wee bit hungry......
Hmmmmm......serves me right for being "just a wee bit mental" last night.:crazy2:

But hey.....that fudge & wine was fantabolous!!:goodvibes

More 2 come I promise. No issues with my fellow adventure travelers -:goodvibes

ANYWHO-:moped:
August 11th
DAY 2
Partly Sunny Skies w/highs in the low 70's
followed by 40% chance of light to moderate rain in the afternoon

Ok.....so who threw the ton of bricks @ me when 5:45am rolled around??
************ OUCH!! ****************

Took me forever and a day to wake up with me nursing some much needed breakfast munchies w/my day getting started off on a very nice foot by sitting w/someone who ALSO LIKES DISboards!!:goodvibes

TOO COOL!! - She really just made my day......thank u that was very kind of you.:)

ANYWHO -
b 4 I knew it, it was 8am ish and time to head on over to the Motorcoach and for the Cotswolds.:bitelip:.......lol

Okokok.......IMHO? THE COTSWOLDS? I er, well.......IMHO the area looked just a wee tab bit on the 'over commercialized'.....and didn't really WOW me as it did in the Rick Steve's dvds but oh well.......again IMHO.:goodvibes

Soon, it was time for all of us to boogy on over to see Shakespeare's birthplace
and such -

Here is just a small part of the tour:

and afterwards, chilled out getting in some much needed walking (after last night) and took a few pics:
Me stopping in at the 'Squeeky Caldron" for some Butterbeer and oreo fudge = YUM!!

and b 4 I knew it, it was time to head back on the Motorcoach & to the area of Yorkshire.popcorn::

UP NEXT:
HEADIN OUT FOR THE YORKSHIRE HOTEL & IMO, why its not a good idea to nibble on jalapeno fudge....

T.T.F.N.
& CHEERS Y'ALL:wave2:

(interior look of one of rooms in Shakespeare's house we saw)

Just a little backstory about the jalapeno fudge comment I made earlier.....

So 2 days ago while out and about, I happened to chance across a wonderful little place (no not 'quaint'):rotfl: in Eton and was trying some jalapeno fudge when all of a sudden, my mouth just reaalllyyyy began to burn.

and I mean OUCH!!!!
So, I was kind but quickly motioned to the front Rep who was selling me the fudge that I need water.

He looked at me as if I had gone daft!!;)
and he quickly schooled me on 'fudge 101' and motioned 2 me some milk based fudge -(hey....atleast I got the chance to taste more fudge b 4 buying....lol) - to help lessen the newly found taste in my mouth.

That seemed to do the trick but WOWZERS!! Watch out when you eat jalapeno fudge cuz its got a kick srtronger than a jalapeno laddened taco!!

ANYWHO -
onward to the Yorkshire Hotel:)

it's a 200 yr old hotel with its quirks but overall, a rather nice hotel.:thumbsup2
(hey.......did I describe it using the word "quaint'):lmao:
and
my room??
Very nice & spacious:

Of course, this was my initial reaction to the hotel property & staff but things changed for me overnight that caused me to radically change my overall opinion about this hotel. More on that to follow.:scared1:

In the meantime...
Onward to more 'fun stuff' -:goodvibes

So
with a quick nod after check in, I was off to a local supermarket (got help by a cute local who escorted me to it......THANK U)
followed a wee bit later by doubling back and finding a cute little place called Bettys:

interior of the place -

(ouch!! sorry about the fuzzy pic!!)

ANYWHO -

YUM!!

(some of their scrumptious offerings)

and
double yum!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

(yes.....just a 'few' bumblebees, pigs, Ladybugs, teddy bears & bicycles "had" to follow me back to my hotel room):goodvibes

Bettys is a wonderful little hideaway that IMO deserves a second look as what chocolates and various other things they have (paired up w/a restaurant), you won't b disappointed.
So why was I there ya ask???

Well, to pick up some late night "munchies" as I seem to have continued my long standing tradition of having fun deep in to the night when I am on vacation adventures.

And the night was no exception:

-(that's the book I am reading while en route to Heathrow & back) - great book....am learning a lot about her & her relationship back to Walt Disney) -

Lights out for me came at about a wee past 1am.
Up at 4am.:rolleyes1
Then officially up at 5:45pm:woohoo:

Welcome to how I roll when I am on vacation adventures:goodvibes

SO, as I entered my hotel room, I spied this:

bent down I read her collar -

and her name is Maisie - the official mascot of the Norton House & Spa here in Edinburgh:goodvibes
(very ingenious as it beats 'Nessie" any day of the week);)

ANYWHO -
We got checked into the hotel tonight w/no issue what so ever. As a matter of fact, out of all three hotel we have stayed in so far, hotel #1 is 2nd and hotel #3 ranks first w/the second one???

***** NEXT SUBJECT PLEASE.......but that is a whole nother topic 2 discuss:eek: ******
(yes, I have had time to think & I feel honesty is the best policy here as their - <Yorkshire Hotel> -customer servicing of the Guest was very very very abmismal .....among various and sunrdry other things I can mention but I feel that this is a Disney website and I should be respectful of this and just leave it at that &......

'MOVING FORWARD.....':rolleyes1

So we got checked into this pretty kick but of a hotel -(The Norton House Hotel) -as I mad a mad dash to the internet to have a new Ipod shipped to my hotel in London (lloonngg sstoorryy will xplain ltr) followed very shortly there after by a very cool dinner & music show.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

A little campy but overall - I loved it!!:goodvibes

ANYWHO -
ALL IN ALL, A MUCH BETTER 2ND HALF OF THE DAY & LOOKIN' FOR A CONTINUATION Of IT as overall, this is turning out to be a well put together and ......dare I say it..... "QUAINT";) vacation adventure.:goodvibes & :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Enjoying your updates and all the pics!

Thank you -

.....just woke up & saw yer post. -
IMHO, yes when the Scots get goin w/their gab, I noticed yesterday that I have a few 'issues';) every now & then understanding what they were saying but then again, I bet that is /can be just about anywhere you go in the world.

I have noticed while over across the pond, some of the subtle differences in some things like for example dogs - IMO they appear to be much fuller & squattier (hope I spelled that right) than dogs in the USA.
Not an insult, just different.
I saw yesterday a Cocker Spaniel and was just intrigued how he /she can to be or hey, it could be just I have been around Beagles all my life and just haven't noticed this before.

"BUT ABOUT 'THAT HOTEL FROM H***' WE VISITED......":crazy2:

* I accidently ruined my 4 MONTH OLD IPOD USING THEIR HOTEL ROOM WALL PLUG IN!!!!:grouphug:
(the hotel 'claims' that it was my converter & plug in adapter that was the culprit when in actuality.......I am using it now at this hotel in Edinburgh and gee.......I have not freakin' problem with it here as this is a very modern hotel).:)

Then again, when I first got checked into the Yorkshire Hotel & walked into the first room they gave me (room #107), the room looked as if it was straight outta prison movie......just 2 TWIN (???????) beds, a table & a chair that I was deathly afraid to sit down in.........

**** THAT'S IT!!!!:crazy2:******
(Simon said that the hotel will not be going through a reno for another 3 years) - NICE.
and that the owners of the hotel do not want to invest any money what so ever into her until then........OUCH!!!!

and the far right "bed"????
VISUALLY, I could see the mattress was sagging!!!!:upsidedow

NO WAIT!! THERE'S MORE:scratchin

When I debated on whether or not to mentally accept being first housed in their equivalent of the "Presidential Suite',;)
IMHO, I was very snottily told by Tracey (front desk) that 'WE ARE AT OCCUPANCY!! NO ROOM MOVES!!":snooty:

FYI here TRACEY & SIMON (Husband to Tracey):
not a good attitude (Tracey's) to have when you are inneracting with someone -(Simon was nice & very helpful I will give him that) - who ALSO WORKS IN THE HOTELIER INDUSTRY!!:scratchin

But while staying there for one night, I can honestly say that using their elevators in that hotel was IMHO, was like riding the TOT attraction ride in Orlando & I didn't really enjoy that at all -
NOT FROM A HOTEL.
okokokokokok.............:coffee:
enuf of my Goofy rant (my fav Disney character):goodvibes

I got a very good night's sleep......:thumbsup2
Hotel staff here is excellent........:thumbsup2
still debating on what to do with approx. 2pm to 5:3opm today ('on yer own time').........
(yes....I am not referring to the Yorkshire Hotel but to the Norton House Hotel)

But one thing is for sure -

** This is SUPPOSED TO BE one fun vacation adventure **
and by gosh, I am determined to move forward & have fun.:sad1:

ANYWHO -
Been having fun inner acting with the locals these past few days........
best one so far????:confused3

Day 4 continued......

-(from the tour of Edinburgh Castle) -
**JUST DOUBLE RIGHT CLICK OVER THE ABOVE VIDEO W/YOUR COMPUTER MOUSE & IT WILL PLAY 4 U **

Today was a pretty good day that started off with the alarm going off @ 5:45am about 9 hours toooooo soon!! - LOL!!

So I was up and about around 7am for some much needed breakfast.::yes::
and before we all knew it, it was 8am and off to see the sights and sounds of Edinburgh.

just remember, as you exit your hotel room, don't be like me and totally forget that you let the cat out (Hallway filled with cats!! 2 PRICELESS) and promptly literally have to leapfrog over that Cat to avoid stepping on her in the process of you attempting to exit said hotel room:lmao:

ANYWHO -
We were dropped off a ways away from the Holyrood Palace (which I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of reason to do some serious window shopping on the 'magnificent mile' area:

**JUST A DOUBLE RIGHT CLICK OVER THE ABOVE VIDEO & IT WILL PLAY 4 U

made a quick bee line to this place based upon an earlier suggestion from a fellow DISser -

(nice place)

THEN..........
I spotted this other place as well -

the look to her inside -

and what's inside aint to shabby either:

and of course ya can't forget a smidgen of:

now
of course, ya know I just 'had to' purchase a 'few' of what they were selling.;);)

- (the display in the window was just exactly 'what the doctor ordered' 4 me) -

The people behind the counter were very helpful, nice (esp Jennifer) & just really made my day. ** Thank you **
So, off I went onwards now to the 2nd of 2 reasons why I wanted Edinburgh -
Holyrood Palace:

and me in front of the fountain -

the ticket purchasing was a little confusing (I couldn't find anywhere earlier where I could have purchases them online), but soon I was off to have a real nice tour of the Gardens surrounding the Palace.

**JUST DOUBLE CLICK OVER THE ABOVE VIDEO & IT WILL PLAY 4 U **

I almost discovered my very first "HA-HA" fence by pure accident:

(digcha spot it??)

Now -
here was where only for the 2nd time on this adventure did I encounter "information overload" (like what was the name of the guy who located /found the missing Scottish crown, septre, etc & in what year??:confused3) but soon I relaxed and well......

enjoyed the tremendous views -

(the ruins of the Abbey just next to the Holyrood Palace)

Now I will admit did I ever learn a lot from this tour and yes, I can see where the Brits were about 50 years ahead of the USA when it came to redeveloping a very important area (Constitution Hall in the 1950's USA vs the Holyrood Palace getting redeveloped in the early 1900s per Queen Victoria), the Queen likes Earl of Grey tea, had fun talking with one of the people in the group (the married couple you see in the video is from London), expect a lot of the current Monarch to begin to pass as they are really advancing in years, next year the Queen will surpass everyone & be the longest ruling Monarch, where who lives where in the Palace, etc.

Pic #1

pic #2

The tour was extremely helpful and almost IMO, a 'tutorial 101' of not only the Palace but also the grounds and I really had a fantastic time. The Tour Guide was very knowledgable and very engaging.

Soon, I ventured on over to the Poetry section of the tour (part 2 of 2) and poured myself into it. Didn't really 'get into it' as I am not a poetry lover but hey, I did learn a few things which was good.

But then I realized that OOPPSSIIEE!!
I didn't buy a ticket for the interior of the Palace tour. So off I went and saw the interior of the place.

** WOWZERS!! **

Impressive and very overwhelming to say in the least.
Overall, I am very glad I got an opportunity to see some history (the Palace) that a long time ago my Mother saw it as well as the city of Lockerbie duing a very sad time:
*
*
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_Am_Flight_103

Large sections of the aircraft crashed into Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 11 more people on the ground. Following a three-year joint investigation by Dumfries and ...

AS she was telling me where the plane crashed, the place just looked like a huge huge hole in the ground. * Very sad *

But as far as in earlier in the day's activities....
.....now I know there IS a difference between the Castle and the Palace.;)
*
*
*
*
Just make sure there is no "Chalice in the Palace":lmao:
okokokok......that was a nod to all you Danny Kaye fans out there.

Oops!!
I hear crickets!!

Better stop while I am ahead....:crazy2:
cuz we have some whiskey tasting & some ice cream tasting 2 talk about....

my feet finally gave out on me (be aware you will be walking a lot on cobblestone) so I chose to venture back onto the Motorcoach around 3pm and we were kindly taken back to the hotel.

There I discovered NIRVANA:

Seeing the lone bagpiper ontop of the castle was one of the two times I really felt emotionally moved by watching the Tattoo as that was a fitting way to end was has turned out to be a incredible day of gathering up a pocketful of memories I will never forget.:cloud9:

OR WAS IT??
HHmmmmmmm.............

Remember now, I just "had to" make a stop after the Tattoo to pick up some late night munchies (earlier in the evening we made a stop at a place called "Pizza Express" - nice place.....didn't wow me but got the job done)
Found our way back to the Motorcoach (very crowded the Tattoo and the mile since it is Festival time; fyi)popcorn::

I think that that "rumbly in my tumbly" feeling I am experiencing right now is due to all those 'low fat' cookies I had a few hours earlier.....;)
oh and the comp milk we had nightly waiting for us in our room's refrigerator.....LUV IT!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Now I can have my milk AND my cookies.....TOO COOL!!:cool1::cool1:

ALL RIGHTEE SCOTLAND....it was fun but now we venture into the land of Blue Meanies and the Sea of Green.......popcorn::

Regards tilting on landing.

Sounds like a normal crosswind landing. It's normal to tilt the plane into the wind. IE if the wind is from the left the plane is tilted left and the left wheel touches the ground first.

Day 5

Overcast skies to 30% chance of rain coming back into England (Liverpool) via way of Windemere, Gretna Green, Rybel, Lake District, etc.popcorn::

OK ARE YOU READY 4 THIS ONE????

**I have now taken almost 10 count em 10 gigs of pics & video **
OKOKOKOKOKOK.....that even has me doing a double take -

- What can I say, having fun and really enjoying this vacation adventure -

ANYWHO -

4:30am came with an extreme vengeance on me as I chose to get up and run around doing a few things like recharge all my electronic gizmos and such followed by dare I say it........

**GETTING REPACKED AND GET THAT SUITCASE DOWNSTAIRS **
Soon 6am hit me and I was a jumpin' n to the shower to officially get my day started.
AS I was bringing down my suitcase, I noticed a Man & his son arguing with the front desk with another Lady front desk rep "staying out of the fray."
The Gentleman was upset that for whatever reason (Hotel has a restriction that says facilities are reserved for singles, then families or something like that)

ANYWHO -
the Gentleman wanted his Son to use the Pool and was told by front desk NO to wit the Guest launched into one incredible & quite uncalled for scathing of not only the Front Desk rep but also the Hotel.
So, you know me by now & I decided to "jump into the fun";)
and politely remind said Guest that perhaps he needs to listen to the kind bloke here just said and look at an alternative facility that this hotel would glady refer him onto unless he would like to wait until after 9am THEN the minor could use the pool.

Well - sure enough, this 60+ yr old Guest looked me up & down & curtly replied, "AND WHAT BUSINESS OF THIS IS IT YOURS??":furious:

To wit, I again calmly repeated what the Front Desk rep said which was to offer an alternative solution by referring on the Guest to an facility nearby.
Guest wasn't about to hear it and proceeded to get tangled up into quite a no-win situation as I was very impressed by the Staff of this Hotel -

They hold their own quite well when dealing with "Interesting Guests"

So, when the coast was clear, I approached the front desk officially as the Guest and no longer peacemaker & said my goodbyes to a really fun hotel to visit.:yay:
Sad to leave such a gem of a place but hey.....gotta move onward to others places and things to c ya know so we all clammered into the Motorcoach around 8am and off we took a very IMO leisurely and quite comfortable drive through the rolling countryside hills as we made our way through the various cities / stops that I mentioned earlier in this posting.

Most were of the touristy kind but IMHO, the Lake District really held my attention & is worth a few pics & video -popcorn::

very outdoorsy

and -

lots of lakes.....hence the name.

Now,
While at the Gretta Greene area.......
(A WEE BIT 'FUZZY' - I KNOW);)

and -
a very less fuzzy lookin pic:rotfl2:

......I made a bee-line for a cute little establishment that sold cider and chocolate - among other things.

When I said that I'm from Texas & ........
SHE THOUGHT I said I needed TAXES (forms) and proceeded to motion me down the hall and off on your left.

I kindly repeated my opening.....
She caught her error & we all have a huge laugh over it.

END RESULT?
She got a sale off of me with me be-bopping on outta the Gretta Greene area with some much needed equivalent of coffee for Yours Truly:

1) Cider
Some of the different ciders I tasted during this adventure = YYUMM!!

and -
2) chocolate bars.

NOW THAT'S A WICKED combo but makes fer some fantabolous munchies while bloggin':hyper:

That and 4

Now.....per what I was hinting at earlier, my body vs my brain were literally not communicating with each other at all for most of the day as I just felt a wee bit off 'for some reason - LOL!!
so soon my body was asking my brain for permission to wake up;)
so off I glared at my recently purchased booty & literally lusted after it but knew I needed to hold off until later on - a wise choice I discovered later on n the day.::yes::

A few more stops later, we finally rolled into the Liverpool area around 5pm (on the Motorcoach mind you since 8am) and soon we checked on a neat little thing called "The Beatles Story":

Took lots of video & pics during this one cuz well.......was fun hearing all the little ditties (ok.....hope I spelled that one right:)) as I slowly made my way on over from one section of the exhibit to the next one.
Only slight negative was wish we would had more time there but ah well - next time - there needs to be a next time.:goodvibes

So by now, my body was beginning to yell at me to get cleaned up and ready for a very relaxing evening chillin; out while getting checked into a very cute and yes.....I will say 'that word' ** QUAINT **:goodvibes
Marriott Hotel (Liverpool) and was handled
very nicely by Alan (Concierge), Ashley, Sharon (Front Desk) and Scott (Banquet).
They made me feel very welcomed to the area as we were motioned on over around 7pm for a dinner @ the hotel.

ANYWHO -
So what's in store 4 Yours Truly later on??popcorn::
Stay tuned cuz hey, ya never know who I just might run into as I just learned another 'new word: -;)

1) It's not promounced, "SHARE-ON"
IT"S PRONOUNCED "SHARE-UN":);)
(when referring to a person by the name of SHARON):goodvibes

I tell ya though, I seemed to have made 4 local's day as I rolled into a local Subway to pick up some much needed cookies.
** THANK YOU** as you made my day as well.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

From there,
I slowly made my way back to the hotel for a bit before lights out around midnight.:upsidedow

Having a total blast on this vacation adventure - wish it wouldn't have to come to an end.
Looking forward now to Tintern Abbey, Cardif Castle, etc & the wonderful environment of Wales.

But b 4 I 'git,' if there was one thing I would have to pick that I like best about this adventure???

It would be inner acting with the locals.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

UP NEXT:
Discovering the wacky world of Meade wine @ the Cardif Castle & hmmmm.....being on the prowl for fudge & wine - will I find them??
