So the other day, my best Bud & I had a "Light bulb moment"
** (Pic taken when she was 1 - she will be 3 yrs old this August) **
FYI - backstory on that pic - We were both chilling out one day watching on dvd, 'Star Wars' when I looked over at her & she had her ears flipped back w/"that Princess Leia look" .....so I just had to take a pic of her;)

    ANYWHO -

So, I have been working with her for about 2 weeks now to see if she can pick up the phrase, "Roll over" to see if she would respond to Sheep Herder whistles while we are out and about in the public and or while out jogging, etc..popcorn::

She got the 'down' part right.
But I think I kept on confusing her whenever I would put my cupped hand over her head and then say, "Roll Over."

She kept on looking at me as if to say, "You want to pat my head??":confused3

    - NO -

She went on to say, "You want to scratch in between my ears?":confused3

    - NO -

FINALLY - FINALLY......a light bulb literally went off in her head as her eyes got real big and her tail was just wagging ever so gently (a look straight out of the "Precious Moments" series) & she looked as me as if to say:

"OH.....you want me to roll over.....why didn't you say so in the first place":goodvibes

    AND BAM!!:yay:

    SHE DID IT!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I immediately gave her praise and also said she's a good girl.....she was looking at me as if to say, "Ya wanna see it again?"

    So yup, I replied, "Roll-over.":)

    BUT......this time I threw her a curve.::yes::

You see, whenever I wake up in the am, I always stretch my arms outward, etc.......

    (NOTE: FORESHADOWING);)

    So, I said ......to Ladybug.....

    "HEY LADYBUG!!"

    She looked at me.......:hyper:

    looked at my arms outstretched.........

    and..........

    yup You guesses it -

    SHE RAISED HER ARMS!!:cool1:

Now I just have to work on getting a picture of this - TOO CUTE -
and yes, we are now working on Sheepherder whistles between her & I.

Down to about 240 more days until I leave for Disneyland-popcorn::

I have been doing a little bit of 'research' in my spare time for this upcoming adventure of mine and just noticed a few days ago that I am just a weee bit lacking in my plans for January 2nd.:upsidedow

    and that is......

that Universal Studios Hollywood has a "Despicable Me" attraction &........

    ummmm..
    errr..........

    ** I HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET **:crazy2:
IKNOWIKNOWIKNOW!! It's as if EVERYONE around me gives me that quizacle look and replies, "WHAT! U Haven't seen the movie yet??"

    So, without any further adieu,
I just put in an order for BOTH of those movies - will watch the first one over the May 30th-31st area and then the second one while en route from DFW to Heathrow in late August (hey....ya neeeeeeed;) something ta do while enjoying your 12 hour direct flight to Europe).

Seems to be lots to do while over @ "that other amusement park" - lookin' forward to it as this will be my very first trip into Universal Studios.:yay:

So here it is in Dallas / Ft Worth - 96 degrees for a high temperature.....no rain......and well -

I am just not feeling it.:crazy2:

Then.....I discovered on I-Heart radio "Christmas 365" radio station &......
    that changed everything.

Put an extra smile into my heart -
I listen to it every night -:)

Yup -a little different listening to Christmas music right smack dab n the middle of a typical hot Dallas summer.:upsidedow

    BUT THEN.....
an idea hit me while listening to this station........

I thought about it for about 4 to five days.....
wondering if I could pull it off.:scratchin

THEN, I realized that currently I am in the 'real world' but that while on my vacation adventures, reality is temporarily suspended -

    SO WHY NOT?:goodvibes

    To now
'Plus it" this adventure of mine, I am now adding a Sunday December 28th @ 7pm Manheim Steamroller Christmas Concert @ Downtown Dallas, Tx.

WITH.........a 6:30am flight outta DFW to LAX the very next morning. ;)

    ** YES, I said 304 pounds **:sad2:

At that time, I was introduced to three tv shows, "Live Big With Ali Vincent,' "Motion" (both on the Live Well Network) and of course, "The Biggest Loser."

Whereas I do feel I owe a lot of gratitude to Ali Vincent as well as the "The Biggest Loser" tv shows, I also felt a little bit inept in understanding what to do in the world of after care; per se - what do you do and how when you reach your target weight??:confused3:

Yes, I would have been nice for both of the shows to address these issues for those of us who are new to this world of BMI, height / weight proportionate, etc but somehow I get a feeling (DUH) what they are more interested in is ratings.:scratchin

So here I was - at 192 lbs (Dec 2013).....loving it but not really understanding what I just did and accomplished.:upsidedow
(keep in mind 10 lbs of that lost was for 'vacation weight' that I knew I was going to gain back)

    Flash forward to now -
So after coming back from a wonderful European Vacation, I realized it was time to do something different - a new approach to this craziness.

For some, it's a constant daily thing.

    Me?

I am seeing now (WISDOM) that we Humans are like cars......
Your car gets inspected once a year....right???
We Humans get 'inspected' once a year ....right?? (physical)

So.......why not take care of your body in the same way that you take care of your car.

    BUT WITH A TWIST.:cool2:

So, after a lot of consideration of the typical Texas weather, I am now seeing in addition to my typical daily cardio & core workouts, the importance of performing twice a year "health checkups" on myself ....weight wise"......before I go in for my yearly physical.

And the twice a year I have picked is on or around August 25th & January 10th of every year.:dance3:
-(cooler weather in Texas) & (after Christmas) -

    Now why these two dates??
Well, the way I see it, there is nothing wrong throughout the year to have what you want ....*** IN MODERATION**....its just that these two above listed dates is when I am going to refocus my attention of getting my body where it needs to be.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Now I know some of you reading this will say, DUH!!! - well....I seriously didn't know this.:guilty:

    Best part is??

    ** NOW I DO **

This is why I really like the overall message of Jillian Michaels (Yes, I am even on her Facebook page) as I feel she teaches us Newbies more of a message than just LOSE THE WEIGHT like Ali Vincent teaches or "The Biggest Loser" tv shows.

So with that I leave ya with my week one is going great -
    No issues so far.....

    **(JUST WISH M&M's WERE FAT FREE!!:rotfl:) **

The more and more I get into this, I feel that 23.7 for a BMI is not all that unreasonable for me to hit while I am on this journey (which includes 10-15 lbs vacation weight)

Ladybug is doing ok as well.......
    which reminds me...

She is doing so well that the next time I buy food for her, I have to get her off of Pedigree "weight watchers" food for dogs and get her back on regular food.:thumbsup2

    So ok....
    until Sunday -

    Poor ol' Ladybug!
We were out jogging the other evening when not one but eight water sprinklers came on on someone's lawn and she never seen anything like this before!!

And every time she tried to avoid or dodge a 'rouge' sprinkler. she would just run right into another one!!popcorn::

It took her running into and getting sprayed by the first three before she caught on what to do. Kinda cute but then again, kinda not - ya know?
-(I watched her for the first two before I figured out She needed help so I called out her name & guided her out of that mess literally at the same time she ran towards me and outta that mess) -

But hey, that was the theme of our jog as this was the very first time we jogged in the rain. ** DIFFERENT** but nice to feel the light rain come down.:goodvibes

    .....MAKE LEMON-AID!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

    Hello everyone -
I bet those of you who are kind enuf 2b reading my blogs have been wondering; "Just where in the heck is this guy these past 3 months or so"....:confused3

Well - let's just say that I had some extreme IMO dirty pool being played on me (by of all people my Manager) and I was forced out of what I call a pretty good /nice job.

    1) Gained my best guess 25 or so pounds.....which just stinks.:headache:

    2) Got hit by a (of alllll people) "Fred Loya" insured (?:rotfl:) driver who is refusing to own up to the fact that she hit my car WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT AND TRIED TO RUN.....while IMO she was buzzed driving.
......fyi.....just Google "Complaints about Fred Loya Car insurance" and I am the rant that begins "DEAR STATE OF TEXAS ATTORNIES GENERAL OFFICE"......

    3) Took a reduction in pay but THANKFULLY only out of work for 9 days.....

    BUT............popcorn::
I had to cancel this adventure (was originally slated for Dec 2014)
    AND......
my December 2015 DCL adventure as well!!

    BUT..........
and I do stress the word but.........

out of the ashes comes a lot of good:

    1) Just got back from seeing a "Mannheim Steamroller" Christmas concert which just ROCKED!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

So now from seeing my very first IMAX 3-D movie recently (the Hobbit) to now seeing an orchestra /band perfectly sync up to a video of Johnny Mathis singing "O Tannenbaum," this is a wonderful way to kick off the new year with the following challenges and YES - I do welcome some much needed support and would highly appreciate some postings here and there of words of encouragement cuz here's what I now have up my sleeve:

    1) I wanna see the 2015 Morton Myer Symphony orchestra this upcoming December (I feel tickets go on sale in late November) in celbration of my birthday and December 25th.

    2) I wanna lose approx "X" amount of pounds by December 10th.

    3) I HAVE 35 MORE PAYMENTS TO GO AND I WILL BE AT A Z-E-R-O BALANCE ON MY HOME MORTGAGE!!:cool1:

SO.......WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN YOU ASK????:confused3

    4) I feel that on or around that time frame (December '16 or very very very soon thereafter) , I have slated that i will be buying a new car, celebrating a continued new me weight loss wise, celebrating the fact that I will be at a ZERO BALANCE on my home mortgage and of course celebrating my birthday and Christmas as well.

The only change I can see on my above listed plans is that I wanna now book my hotel off-site....per se - I want HOJOS....so if any kind soul has any reviews on that hotel for me, I would kindly appreciate a posting here or there on my pre-trip report.:goodvibes

    ANYWHO -

so where do I go from here??
Well - it begins very shortly (just right after my birthday December 30th) as I plan on blogging in about every 7-14 days on my weight loss journey and that.........that "thing":furious: called a mortgage.

I WILL BE GLAD WHEN I GET RID OF IT!!

My weight loss blog is designed not only to hold me accountable but to also provide words of encouragement to others who have also "lost their way" while trying to maintain a fairly good body figure.

besides.......as the weeks roll by, you will see all my body measurements and how many more mortgage payments I have left to pay.
    and......
what I will be up to December 2015.

So until these new 7-14 days........
