I am taking my first Holland America cruise for spring break and I am wondering if anyone has any experience with HA and specifically the Eurodam. Thanks!!! pirate:

DH and I have taken close to 30 cruises on HAL. We haven't sailed on the Eurodam yet.
Feel free to PM me for information about HAL cruises.

I've been on six cruises on HAL, but not on the Eurodam.

You may want to check out cruisecritic.com as they have boards for each specific cruise line.

been on oosterdam for mexican riv cruise- much older cliental, we are in our early 30's and felt like kids compared to fellow cruisers, the spa is awesome!!
the food iss till some of the be st cruise food I have had compared to rcl and Dcl....

We sailed on the Eurodam 2 years ago on a 14 day Canadian cruise. We boarded in Quebec and finished the cruise at Ft. Lauderdale. This was the
2nd Holland Cruise we have taken. The first was a land/sea trip from Anchorage to Vancouver on the Zannadam (excuse my spelling for that ship).

The Eurodam had just been christened the Spring before we sailed on her. I am very partial to DCL so I compare everything to Disney - forgive me. We sailed in October. There were 3 children on the ship. The average age I'm sure was mid 70's. I thought I was a youngster and I'm 65. Everyone seemed very, very old. My husband hated all the Guy Lombardo music as he called it.

I loved the spa area and I'm hopeful that the Dream will have the heated loungers that look out over the ocean like the Eurodam. The food was Ok - I didn't think it was as good as Disney food. I love changing eating venues like we do on the Disney ship. You stay in the same place every night on the Eurodam. The entertainment was very good but still not quite up to Disney quality - many of the entertainers told us they had been on the Disney ships for productions.

The rooms are nice but they didn't have the split bath like Disney - which I absolutely love. The hallways are very plain - they just don't have the Disney pazzsssssssssss!!!! I did like the enclosed pool but no one swam in it as it was too cold in October. The speciality restaurants - we were very disappointed with the Italian one - food/service were not up to par. There is an Asian one on the top floor which is outstanding - food and service. The servers were all from Indonesia I believe and they were excellent - all women. That restaurant is free at lunch but you pay at dinner - be sure to eat there (best food we had). Their signature restaurant does not come close to Palo's in any shape or form. I don't like to gamble so I didn't try my luck at the casino. I did love their top deck - you could sit in the most comfortable chairs or sofas and watch the ship cut through the ocean. We were always there for "Happy Hour" - good drinks and munchies (be sure to ask for some of the free nuts). Also on that floor they had an outstanding library of books, magazines, games, and computers:surfweb: that you could use. I was always up there. Disney Magic/Wonder have nothing to compare to their top floor. I'm hoping the new Dream/Fantasy will have something similar. We even saw a wedding take place there. I tried to compare the Kid programs - Disney would be A+ and HA would be a C in my book (retired teacher here). Would I sail Eurodam again? Yes, if Disney doesn't go there - like Canada but next Summer were taking the Disney Wonder to Alaska and not Holland America.

All in all I give DCL an A and HA a B-. Have fun!:cheer2:

Thank you everyone! Ill be sure to look at cruise critic and thanks for the review nanaguide, very helpful! pirate:
