Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Frequently Asked Questions:

:santa:What time can I enter the park?
  • You can enter the park starting at 4:00pm EST, and the park is open until 12:00 am. The Christmas festivities, and party start at 7:00 however, if you want to get some more park time, and enjoy yourself I would recommend to go in at 4. Once you enter the park you will receive a wristband, and you must have it on for your entire party duration.

:santa:Do you have a map of the party?

:santa:free Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom Party Card?
  • This year it was Elsa, and every party goer, gets one special party card and pack of cards with admission (they mark your bracelet after you receive them). *thanks to letsgoreds!

:santa:Do I need a wristband? What if I want to stay without one?
  • Why not pick a different night during the week to plan your stay to the Magic Kingdom. People work very hard for their money to pay for the party ticket, and so should you! If you do not have a wristband you should make your way to the gate to exit by 7:00 PM. If you don't leave voluntarily you will be asked to show proof of your wristband; at that time you will be asked to leave if you don't have one. Also they have different color wristbands, so one wristband won't allow you for double dips if you just leave it on your arm for the next day :p

:santa:How much is the party?
  • Depending on the night the party tickets can range from 67 dollars to 71 dollars, pretty expensive I know! However, if you purchase them prior to the party starting you don't have to pay extra the day of the party. So please plan ahead as these events SELL OUT.

:santa:Where can I buy the tickets at?
  • Simple, go to Disney's website and purchase the tickets. Once you do so it will be linked up to your "My Disney Experience" - and show as a connected park ticket. From there, you can plan your party out, and make fast pass selections accordingly.

:santa:Can I use Fast Pass + for the party?
  • YES. You make up to 3 selections for the party prior to the 7 o clock start time. We picked all of our times between 4-6 so we did not miss any of the beginnings of the party festivities. They are no different than making your normal fast pass selections, and you will maximize your Disney experience getting on some of your favorite attractions before the start of the party.

:santa:What treats are the offering?
  • They are currently offering two types of treats. You can select Cookies which are offered this year as Snicker-doodle, and for those of us with allergies they are offering gluten/nut free Chocolate Chip cookies. I personally didn't like any of the cookies :sad2:. They are also offering Hot Coco from what I read on the boxes as Nestle's Rich Dark Chocolate Cocoa. It's actually pretty good! If you don't want any of the cookies and cocoa, they have Apple Juice, and Apple Slices for your pleasure.

:santa:What is a list of all the characters I can meet?
  • Sandy Claws aka Jack Skellington
  • Santa Clause
  • The Seven Dwarfs
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Daisy Donald and Scrooge
  • Santa Goofy
  • Aurora and Phillip
  • Tiana and Prince Naveen
  • Cinderella and Prince Charming
  • Ariel
  • Snow White and The Prince
  • Elsa and Anna
  • Mary Poppins, Bert and the Penguin
  • Merida
  • Captain Jack Sparrow
  • Tinkerbell
  • Rapunzel & Flynn Rider
  • Wendy and Peter Pan
  • Abu, Jasmine, Aladdin & Genie
  • Mickey Mouse

:santa:Are the attractions open?
  • From my understanding MOST attractions are open and with little to no wait time! Imagine going on Space Mountain with no wait or Peter Pans flight without a 40 minute que! It's quite amazing to go on your favorite attractions with little to no crowds! The only ride that was consistently full with lines pending 40/60 minutes was the Seven Dwarfs Mine train...oh man people must love that ride, and the attraction that was the longest was Anna & Elsa...I think I saw a wait time of 30 minutes, but maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me! A Special thanks to ses1230, for pointing out that attractions like Hall of Presidents & Carousel of Progress might not be open, so please get those in before party time.

:santa:Are the dining options open?
  • MOST places seemed to be open, however I'm not too entirely sure about the sit down restaurants, all quick service options looked like they were ready for service. So fear not if you don't want to get yourself stuffed on Christmas treats, there are plenty of options for you and your family to dine on. I also saw special Christmas Offerings in most selections which included things with a hint of peppermint! Again special thanks to ses1230 for pointing out that Columbia Harbor House is closed for the party and Pinocchios Village Haus becomes a treat serving station.

:santa:What time does the parade start?
  • The parades start at 8:15 and 10:30 sharp! Don't miss out on a good seat as seeing the parade in person is an absolute must. My spot was infront of the entrance to the Magic Kingdom train...little to no one on good front curb side seats 10 minutes before the parade, and excellent spot and great interactions from the characters! Frozen seems to be the them at this years Once Upon a Seasons parade...as Anna & Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff had their own floats.

:santa:What time does the firework show start?
  • 9:30 PM starts off Holiday Wishes! For this you might want to grab a good spot at least a couple of minutes in advance and please make sure you avoid the parents who are going to leverage their kids to their shoulders to obstruct everyone's view. This is something you CANT miss, it was absolute beautiful, and I would never want to miss this show being in the parks.

:santa:I'm afraid the party is too overcrowded, has it been this year?
  • To be honest...NO the party seemed very manageable outside of the parade and fireworks show...nothing was that long in terms of wait, and it seemed like the night went by very smoothly. Main street is chaotic at first but it dies down, and to be able to see the snow as you walk with hot chocolate in your hands is an absolute must do...please don't let the stories about overcrowding frighten you, I went on a Thursday and Friday and it seemed perfect to me.

:santa:Can I purchase Memory Maker for that One Day?
  • YES ask guest relations to place this on your account for a special one day price of 39.99. Totally worth it if you LOVE taking pictures, as nothing beats Disney Photo-pass Photographers....they will still take photos for you AND will be out past park closing at 12 so don't worry you can still sneak some photos in!

:santa:I'm worried about the weather for me and my young ones, should I be?
  • *Puts on best New York Accent* I'm from Brooklyn so 50 degrees to me is like a nice summer breeze, however if those of you freeze past 70 degrees please take a jacket, and earmuffs. Also I would recommend you come to NYC to see what a real winter/cold spell it like if you think that's freeze :p

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Review!

Ok so lets get this party started! As much as I LOVE Dinsey I'm also very smart with my money. I don't mind paying for Disney food (when in a sit down restaurant or character driven option), however we choose to eat outside the park both for 10 dollars that filled us up for the party, and was not hungry once throughout the park.

I made my fast pass reservations in advance to scale back on party time, and ensure that we got the most for our park tickets. I don't understand the complaints about Fast Pass Plus...I guess I don't travel with 10+ people, and like trying new things out. The experience was flawless...you make your selections, if their not available you keep checking back and hopefully you find something...if you don't you wait! My three choices were!

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road
The ride becomes 10 times better when you don't have to wait in line, also we got front row seats which made the experience 10 times better...it was an absolute fun time, and I can't believe that fast passes for this ride were avaliable up until the day of the party....what an amazing ride, that anyone who wants a MILD thrill can partake in. The line was 40 minutes when we went so it was nice to be on and off in less than 10 minutes!

Anna & Elsa

I felt so bad that some couldn't secure a fast pass for this, and even wanted to maybe give mine up to someone. However, DH wanted to see them so bad as we saw frozen on ice, and he plays the movie many...many times. It was nice to be able to see them in five minutes...she asked me what kingdom I'm from...and I said the Kingdom of New York...she said she already put the cold spell up there, and love would make it die down...PLEASE BE RIGHT. Couldn't have asked for better character interaction they were fun, playful, and very cheery. Worth the 210 minute line I saw...eh I dunno about that but overall fun.
Space Mountain
How can you go to Disney world and NOT do space mountain? I never had a fast pass for this either so it's very cool to just jump in front of the line and not wait that 40 minute wait time posted...we did everything the fast pass allowed us to do under 30 minutes total for three rides!

All these rides BTW are ALL doable in ONE party attendance as we did!

Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
This is just beyond cute you have to do this at least once and they even used MY JOKE! What do you call a deer with No Eyes?! No idea?! :rotfl2: Anyway we had an excellent time it's a cute 10 minute show that really puts you in the monsters inc feeling, and the interactive audience members makes it even better!

The Haunted Mansion
The best ride at Disney World hands down...not only is it nice and long it really gives you the feel that you are in a huanted mansion. It's eerie, creepy, and without a doubt amazing to looking at. We still to this day get in awe when we see the ghosts...and wonder how do they do that?! The Cast members were really on point too setting the atmosphere with their creepy presence...I'm telling you great cast members can make or break a ride attraction with their attitude in Disney.

Stitches Great Escape
DO NOT RIDE THIS RIDE...ugh what a waste of time - I heard it was awful but didn't want to believe it.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Classic, a MUST DO.

Winnie the Pooh Ride
Eh...there's not too much I can say about this ride, I don't find the dark rides that enchanting to me. The story that was being told didn't make sense to me...I suppose if I was younger and I LOVED tiger why not? Overall I think these rides should have a more comprehensive story to them.

Enchanted Tales with Belle
We were chosen to be the suits of Armor! It was an amazing time and I didn't think that I would enjoy it as much as I did it was a great time, and a very cute show.

Peter Pans Flight
Love it I can't get enough of it...I can't believe that you get to look at the city of London, and get to good through the movie itself. I love to look at the ride attraction, and live the movie. I can't get enough of this ride, and it's a must do everytime we go!

Jingle Cruise
I loved it. My skipper was excellent and told all awesome corny Christmas jokes...she was great and I love when you have an interactive boat which most people just sat there. She really tried her best and that to me what made the ride that more enjoyable. Also do this ride at night, the cruise just seems more "adventureish" at night if that makes sense. I also think it could have been decked out a BIT more for christmas time...

Buzz Light year Space Ranger Spin
How fun is this...it reminds me of Toy Story Midway Mania but just in the Magic Kingdom...I rocked both times mwhaha DH tried his best but I hit something that gave me 100,000 points! Better luck next time! I thoguht it was very cool.

Tomorrow Land Speedway
Am I that bad of a driver or does this thing drive itself? I consistantly felt that I was going off the track!!! DH was also pushing me with his kart in the back even though he was not suppose to! haha it was actually more fun then I thought it was going to be for an on the track ride.

The Christmas Party Starts!

We lined up for the seven dwarfs around 6pm so we could secure a good spot and not waste too much party time. We met an excellent family from Virigina that took most of the wait time away...when your in line see if you can talk to people it really makes the time go by. We waited until about 7:20 to see them so it took about 20 minutes of our actual party time...NOT BAD!

We then headed over to Storybook cirucs to get Minnie, the Ducks, and Santa Goofy! What an amazing meet and greet all the characters here are very interactive and they all look amazing in their holiday attire. We were very happy. We also took the time to ride Barnstormer, and Dumbo! I actually never NEVER been on Dumbo until this time, it was actually pretty cool and I felt like it was something that needed to be done...very satisifying. We then headed to Tommorow Land to watch their stage show.

I thought it was cute, everyone on the DIS and forums seems to **** on it, but to be the Tommorow Land Christmas show was very cute, and a very good time waster. After that it was down to Main Street USA to catch Mickey Mouse!

Why don't more people take pictures with the Head Hancho himself...I don't know, he doesn't seem to be that inundated with guests! He sadly wasn't' in his holiday attire, and we didn't like that it was the same outfit. However, he told Holiday jokes so that made up for it...even if they weren't too good Mickey! We then ran to Santa Clause...the line to meet Santa was VERY short something that we were in total shock over. I would think that the line to meet santa would be huge...alas not too many. Also he wasn't very interactive...maybe because we were adults? I don't know but out of all the "face characters' he was without a doubt the most disappointing.

We then stood outside of the train station and got a FRONT ROW seat for the parade. OMG the parade is awesome it truly makes you feel like Christmas is here...they put scents in the air too...pine, cookies, and candy it was an amazing experience. You must get a front row seats too as the characters and cast members interact with you. Alot of them interacted with us and gave us thumbs up for our Holiday costumes.

We then headed to the castle for the projection show and stopped to get some treats! I LOVED the cocoa it was very warm and delightful, DH on the other hand got Apple Jucie which he said was very good...the Cookies were not too good in our Opinion...I'm allergic and had to get the chocolate chip ones which were as hard as a brick. The other cookies apparently tasted like lemon, they were soft and moist but just didn't do it for us...why not have the different stations have different cookies? It would make it very fun and interesting? Overall the lines for the treats were almost non existent...moved by fast and without a problem AT ALL.

The castle stage show with the projections on the castle PLEASE don't miss this...it's an amazing show, and you will be disappointed if you miss this ...it's like a warm up to the fireworks...we both loved it. DH loves shows, so we made sure that we had an excellent space.

Holiday Wishes....man I am a 28 year old adult law enforcement man and I almost cried with joy and happiness...I can't believe how special the fireworks show is...we went to the Halloween Party, and to normal Disney in March and this is the best fireworks show we saw...just simply fantastic.

After the fireworks we ran and got some character photos we missed and rode a lot of the rides for the 2/3 time.

I can't stress enough how amazing the Christmas Party is...please get a ticket if you can and enjoy...nothing puts you in the holiday spirit quite like Disney. From the snow to main street, to sipping hot cocoa while the parade is going on made me feel like a kid again...and you know what? That's the best thing about Disney...if everything in your life is stressing you out, just maybe for that couple of hours...things seem to melt away.

10/10. Totally worth the Value I can't stress it enough.

What a great review! Just to add to your info, a couple attractions are closed during the party, at least Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress are. Columbia Harbor House is closed for the party and Pinocchios Village Haus stopped serving food at 8pm - both are cookie/cocoa locations. Thanks for sharing your pictures, they are great!
