Members celebration at MK in 2017

Not likely hard as long as you book soon after booking starts because they can basically let in as many as they usually would for extra magic hours. Also, like they always do for these special events, they announce them 4 months out when it is impossible to make a new room reservation, particularly the first date which is part of Princess Half Marathon weekend. I wonder whether the management who sets up these events will ever get the message that Disney did set up a reservation system where one needs to reserve at least by 7 months out to assure being able to get a room.

Princess half marathon, is that the reason for no rooms for the February date?

Yes, DVC's low to moderate demand season stretches from the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan to late Sep, but the Princess half marathion weekend is the highest DVC demand time during that period, beating out the Easter weeks and time around July 4. Race weekends in general are high demand times, not just because of significant member interest but also because they are times of high demand for rentals.

I must admit that DVC really surprises me with these dates. Friday night during the Princess half marathon (the night before the 10K which lots of DVCer's onsite are likely involved with) and then the next Saturday night - a night of the week that is typically the MK's busiest night of the week. I'm a little surprised they were allowed those nights at MK.

What time would the after hours event begin and end in Feb and March? Any ideas?

How do these events usually work? Do they work like EMH where they scan our MBs or will we have some sort of confirmation to show? How late do these events last? Just trying to see if we should make it a slow day/afternoon to take advantage of the evening with 2 young kids.

Thanks for sharing!

You have to register and then be checked in when you arrive. As I recall you need your member card. Midnight is often the end time.

Thanks. I'm so excited. this will be our first member event. We just bought in. Feb will be our first trip as dvc members.

Booked the 4th at Wilderness lodge and have a waitlist for BLT. I can't wait for this event!

We might be in the area for the March 4th date. Provided we register in time, do we need to be staying on points to attend the event?

They don't really care if members attend or not or who will attend. Parties are paid by DVD and are a way to sell the idea of direct purchases grant something special.

Oh poor resalers who miss on those magical parties. Sign on the dotted line please.
