Medical (and Other) professionals, do you keep your "credentials" on you?

This is an offshoot of the "doctor on plane" discrimination thread.

If you had to act in an emergency, and were asked for your credentials, would you be able to produce them right then and there? Do you keep a copy of your license on you at all times?

Just curious how this works for others in this electronic day and age.

FTR, I do keep a paper copy of my license behind my driver's license in my wallet, and most of the time, I have my wallet with me, but I could imagine a scenario where my wallet might still be at home, such as if I'm out walking the dog or something.

I suppose I could always pull it up online, but it would take at least a few minutes. Going to try it on my phone for kicks and giggles to see how long it takes me, and will report back here when I'm done.

OK, very sad! Seven minutes and I still can't pull up verification of my credentials on my phone. Too bad, this patient has lost a lot of time. :guilty:

Others? Try and see how long it takes you - using your phone, or laptop, etc., if that's what you'd have with you on a plane.

My husband is a licensed emergency first responder, & he's required to keep a copy w/ him. He keeps a copy of his state licensure, his national registry, & his CPR certification in his wallet.

I keep the paper wallet size license in my wallet. I also have a picture of my full license on my phone. Never been asked for either.

I have held RN licenses in 20 of the 50 states (was a travel nurse) and can tell you that most of them are no longer providing a physical license anymore as they are way to easy to fake.

I have provided bystander support in states I have not been licensed in and am always thanked and never asked for proof of credentials.

No, but then no one ever needed an emergency teacher or x-ray tech. I have my union card, though. I suppose that counts for something?

Yes, but only because I needed a copy for something at work and stuck it in my wallet when I was done. It's lived in there for a few years now.
