Saturday 15th March

We were going to go shopping today but couldn’t be bothered messing around with public transport so decided to pay a visit to Downtown Disney instead. We took our time getting showered and dressed as we weren’t in a hurry.

We got to the bus stop just before 10. It was very quiet, with just a few people waiting. A CM was at the bus stop and he asked us where we were going. We told him Downtown Disney and he said that a bus should be along within 10 minutes. He was very funny and was telling lame jokes as we waited. The bus took a little longer than 10 minutes but we were soon on our way. After a brief stop at Typhoon Lagoon, we were dropped at Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Sian had been looking, in vain, for a Frozen t-shirt and spotting the Design a Tee shop, we had to go in to see if they had any Frozen designs. They had a few to choose from so Sian decided to design herself a t-shirt.

Believe it or not, we were ravenous this morning so we sat in the sunshine and enjoyed a delicious breakfast from Wolfgang Puck Express. Cornflake French Toast for me and Chocolate Chip Waffles for Sian. We shared an OJ.

This was one of my favourite moments from the holiday. Sitting in the sunshine, enjoying a delicious breakfast and just chilling out. It was absolute bliss.

We sat for quite a while, chatting about what we wanted to buy before starting our onslaught on the shops. We shopped for quite a while. I bought a Princess Sofia doll for a friend’s little girl. I also bought myself a watch that I’d seen back in October and wished I’d bought (although Gary actually paid for the watch as an early Birthday gift). Sian went mad with her Birthday money, treating herself to a new bag and a purse. I also bought a couple of tops and a scarf as well as a phone case.

After a hectic morning’s shopping, we stopped for an ice-cream treat – no trip to Downtown Disney is complete without a Ghirardelli sundae. We shared a Mint Bliss with no whipped cream.

Our last stop of the day was the Days of Christmas store where I bought a cute little Olaf decoration for our Christmas tree.

We caught the bus back to the resort (the only time we didn’t have a really long wait for the bus) and, after some down time followed by a quick freshen up, we headed back out to spend the evening at Hollywood Studios.

The park was really busy tonight, due to a big cheerleading competition going on. There were cheerleaders everywhere. We were both feeling a bit hungry so we got some chicken nuggets and a diet coke from Rosie’s All American Café.

We had a FP+ booked for Toy Story Mania at 5.50pm so headed in that direction.

It was a close run thing but I won!

Afterwards, I suggested we go and have a drink at the Tune In Lounge. Unfortunately, it was absolutely packed. We couldn’t even get near to the bar, let alone get a seat. So we ended up getting a drink from a temporary stand that had been set up outside. I don’t recall the name of it now but it was blue and cheerleader-themed!

Next up was Tower of Terror before Fantasmic!

My photos of Fantasmic are absolutely rubbish so you’ll have to put up with some of Sian and I posing instead.

We decided to catch the friendship boat back to the resort. As there were so many people waiting, we missed the first boat. While waiting for the next boat, we got chatting to a lovely family from Canada. They had twin boys around Daniel’s age and they seemed very taken with Sian, chatting away to her and telling her all about their holiday so far. Chatting with the boys made us miss Daniel and we cheered ourselves up by telling stupid little stories about funny things he’s done.

We were back in the room by 11 and straight to bed.

Chilling in the sunshine sounds fantastic :goodvibes Your blue drink, whatever it was!, looks fab. I really like the sound of the Olaf decoration for your Christmas tree.

sound like a lovely relaxing day, just enjoying the moments :)

What a great looking t-shirt and far nicer than the one Frozen t-shirt I did see.

She loved her t-shirt and was very pleased that she'd managed to get one. I suspect they have way more Frozen stuff available now than when we were last there so I'm hoping to pick up some more stuff in October.

And a really nice lady I know, who has just been to WDW, has brought Sian back a 'Frozen' cookie ;)

I love my Olaf - Gary thinks I am sad but I will admit to being just a little bit Frozen obsessed (like Mother, like daughter)

We had a really busy week but actually it all felt quite chilled. Although wait until Day 5. Nothing chilled out about that - it was go, go, go!

That French toast looked fab. Another treat day:cool1:

Tina

Yes, lots of treats today. I'd had that French toast on a previous visit a few years ago and it was practically burnt. This time it was perfect :thumbsup2
