Day Three: At Sea
Quick reminder: On this trip is me(33), DH(32) and friends S(25) and J(22). We're from Orlando and we're all in entertainment.

So, Dh got up early to work out again, and again I slept in  He brought me croissants and danishes from the buffet when he came back to the room. He is so thoughtful! We got showered and dressed and went to the character breakfast with S and J. The Canadians were there too. DH and I have never been to the character breakfast on the ship before, though we've been to tons of them at WDW. I was expecting this one to be like the ones at WDW but I felt like it was much more rushed. On land, the characters have always come around to say hello to everyone at the table and shake hands or hug or take photos and all that good stuff. At this one, not one character (Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Goofy) came over to greet DH and I and we weren't even sitting at the back of the table, we were on the side. S and J were nearest to the aisle so the characters would stop there automatically for pics but then they would just give a general wave to the rest of us and try to leave! The canadians had to stand up and holler after them to get the pictures and hellos they wanted. DH and I weren't that aggressive, so we only got in a couple of pics. I don't know if it was because we were all adults or what (not that that should matter) but I found the experience disappointing and the food isn't great either. I ordered chocolate pancakes and they were not chocolate at all. Can't win em all I guess.

After breakfast we went straight to the pool. The adult pool of course. There were a lot of people there but it wasn't over crowded, and I didn't see any chairs that were being saved but not used, so maybe they are cracking down on that a little better, or maybe we just got lucky. We found four lounge chairs together and spent the next couple of hours on deck ten in the sun. The cool breeze that blows across the deck is deceptively nice, and before we knew it, S and I were sunburned. O.K., I was really good about putting on lots of sunscreen, but for some reason I still burnt, and S who is young and careless didn't put any on at all and paid for it dearly the rest of the trip. He was literally brick red from head to toe and in lots of pain. That'll teach ya!

S and J left at two to check out the cake & plate decorating, which they later said was fun and the cake was extremely delicious! DH and I moved over to the Goofy pool to have lunch. They were showing High School Musical on the big screen. For everyone who was asking about that before, they did show the movie on the big screen twice, once in the afternoon and once at ten at night, but they never played any of the music at any of the dance parties. Perhaps they will in the future.

At 3:15 DH and I went to our first Bingo game. We love bingo on the ship and played almost every day on our last seven day cruise with Que :goodvibes
This trip we had Travis as our bingo master and we thought he was tons of fun. We didn't win of course, but we had a great time.

After bingo, we had a couples massage booked at the spa. We requested not to have the sales pitch at the end which they didn't like very much, but we were pressed for time and didn't want to waste any hearing about products we would never buy. The massage was amazing. A bit overpriced, but it felt great. We were in on of the villas and it was really beautiful. It kind of made me want to pay the extra money to use the villa, but it was way too expensive for us, so we just took pictures of it :) DH fell asleep during the massage. I guess that means it succeeded in relaxing him. :rotfl: We both enjoyed the experience quite a lot. We've had separate massages before but never had one together. It was nice.

We had to rush from our massage to the Golden Mickeys- not the best planning on our part. Most people were already dressed for formal night and we were still in pool clothes, plus we missed the very beginning of the show. We still enjoyed it. We've seen it before, so we knew what to expect, and we enjoyed seeing it with all different performers. A couple of girls had really amazing singing voices. :thumbsup2

Formal Night

Our formal dinner was in Parrot Cay. We went down to change after the Golden Mickeys. All of you who are thoroughly committed to formal night probably would have been a bit annoyed with our group. It's not that we didn't try! It's just none of us actually own any formal wear and it's not the kind of thing you go out and buy until you really really need it. Well, DH and I didn't do too bad. DH had a nice suit and tie and I had a strapless black cocktail dress. I thought we looked pretty good. S and J are in their twenties and their idea of formal is well, different. They both had nice shirts and ties on and.....flip flops. Well, they made the effort, what can I say. When Sandor saw them, he laughed and showed them that underneath his fancy server tux outfit, he had cut the sleeves off his white shirt. We all laughed at that. The table was set with four kids menus at our plates-yay! Thanks Sandor! We all had a very nice dinner. The Canadians were really warming up to us and vice versa. We had a moment where I was telling them about some of the famous people that have come to the show where I work and when I mentioned Celine Dion, Eric, who never speaks English grinned and said "Celine Dion!' and hit his chest the way Celine always does. Too funny!! :rotfl2:

After dinner we went to check out the Golden Mickeys after party which was completely dead, so we wondered aimlessly around the ship for awhile. When we passed by the Promenade Lounge we saw High Society there just sitting and talking so S struck up a conversation with them Julia is the singers name- she was very pretty and very friendly. She said they weren't doing another set until later but she would sing one song for us. Awesome! Our own private concert! (No one else was there) She sang and we all danced and she ended up doing two more songs for us. That was really fun.

Wasn't much to do after that so DH and I went back to the room around twelve and went to sleep. The days went by too fast!!!

We went to that bingo game too and that's when my mother first laid eyes on Travis. Granted my mother is old enough to be his mother, but man she thought Travis was smokin hot! We saw him at couple of events and she got all googely-eyed. On the last night, he was at Animator's and I thought maybe if I politely ask him would he mind taking a picture with her. He said yes and my mom was just thrilled. I think it was one of her best highlights on the trip. I wish I can send the picture but I can't figure how to insert pictures on this site. Help anyone? But anyway just wondering if there was any other Travis fans out there?

I was on your cruise, sailing with two additional families. The three moms of the group (ages 36,39,41) adored Travis!!! What is he...21???? Loved him though. Saw him twice at bingo and on Friday night performing in Diversions. Love that accent!

He kept joking that he was 19, but I think he was at least a few years older. We took a picture with him and Michael on pirate night. I'll try to post it!

Michael is on the far left and Travis is on the far right

Yep, I remember the whole 19 thing. I think everytime during bingo that he got the number 19, he would always say "19, the age that I am". During one bingo we got him on the whole color of the card thing. When we got to the yellow card, he was like "yellow was the color of?" and someone yelled out "the color of snow you don't want to eat". Went over his head. Guess being from South Africa he doesn't have snow. Well being from Chicago we thought it was funny anyway. But also my mom being all about Travis. She also heard someone joking with Travis that he became a father during the week and when the cruise was over he was going to Idaho and then..vegas! So my mom actually went up to him and congratulated him! Ha!!! But then Travis denied that rumor and said that it was a joke. Who know what stories the CM"s weave?? Are they real or is it all that Disney magic?

Yep, I was there for that whole "yellow snow" thing. I wonder if Travis really didn't get it, or if he was just pretending. I was also there for the Father/Vegas thing. I thought it was totally true!
I guess we should have known- those boys were pretty crazy with their stories and rumors! Now I'm thinking back to everything they said....how much of it was true?!

Be assured............the jokes are repeated EVERY week! We heard them!

The CM's have a great rapport, but their selection of jokes are a bit limited - for family viewing!
