i dont think it is too old at all! In fact, I heard wind on another place *ahem* that there will be an adult only FE group.
Yay on first Dis cruise!!
Placking/Planning: I do it way far in advance. I love looking things up, reading this board, researching excursions etc.
-Don't over pack. I always personally dress a little nicer for dinner - maybe sundress or slacks and RE-WEAR clothes!!! I might wear the same slacks three nights at dinner and maybe a differnet shirt in middle of three nights. no one cares!!! I bring sneakers, flip flops, dressy sandals, and black shoes usually. if i have brown skirt on, oh well the black shoes are going with it! dont take up too much room with shoes. maybe if you plan on a lot of swimming, two suits so one can dry. i have yet to use pool on any cruise i have been on bc too busy. PACK LESS than you need!!
-READ navigators each and every night. Pour over them so you dont miss details. There are like family animation classes (including kids) and adult only animation classes (adults only). I had so much fun doing this and the group was way small.
-I dont mean to overwhelm you, some people like to just go cruise and relax, i am a planner and a do-er so I like to have all my days scheduled out and itineraries and crazy stuff.
-Totally visit princesses and characters. I did as an adult on my one and only Magic cruise in 2012. Wear a tiara if you like too. It is all good! Some nowadays are ticketed events. Look at navigator in port terminal to see where to get them. when boarding, go get tickets first
-decorate your door with magnets! Fun to do, easy to find, fun for others (but not expensive bc there ARE thieves). some make own disney ones using printers and magentic paper
-Look up excursions in advance. I personally use
DCL excursions bc i view extra cost as insurance that ship wont leave without me, but you can book privately but make sure sure sure to be back on time.
-Drop something off at Guest Services early with some sharpies and some treats (bag of Mand Ms) and you can have characters sign it. plan on doing a photo mat this time around. Ive seen decorative plates, totes, hats, pillowcases etc
-30th wedding anniversary specials: book them something at spa? book them a night or brunch at Palo? not sure if you can order a gift basket for room? pay for an excursion? (not sure on your finances LOL)
