Again, I'm just speculating - but, I'm thinking someone tasked with this event opened it up early so people they knew could register.
And it's going to be someone on the Active side handling this, not the runDisney side ... but, whatever. Honestly - runDisney makes SO much money off these events, there's no reason why they haven't built their own mainframe for registration that they can control. It doesn't take much. A database and a secure payment portal of their choice. That's it. If you build it correctly, you can automate everything - legacy runners will have a special login, repeats/C2C will be automatically recognized, emails will be more personalized based on what you're running.
Ugh. It just drives me nuts that they use such a dumb service for their registration when I have local races that far exceed their registration process for just a 300-person race.
