I was wondering if there is a correlation between park closing time or Wishes, and when the RR stops running at night? Does it run during Magic hours?

TIA!

Park opening until 9pm

I don't believe it runs during emh's

The train will stop running before Main St Electrical Parade and Wishes. The parade troupers and floats cross the RR tracks next to Splash Mountain in Frontierland, to return backstage. And Wishes fireworks are lit backstage behind New Fantasyland and the RR station there, so too close for safety. One night we were there, a small piece of fireworks landed on 7 Dwarfs Mine Train landscaping and started a small fire. (It was minor, but small fires can get big.) I think the RR trains don't run again until next morning b/c they are authentic old steam engines and they need maintenance overnight.

1. Park opening until 9pm

2. I don't believe it runs during emh's

1. It can never be standard end time, as the last run of the RR depends on the time the parade runs and/or the fireworks start
(which can vary all year long, especially due to Daylight Saving Time changes and sunset times.)

2. Correct.

I also noted it did not run on MNSSHP, during the party time (7pm and on). Not sure if this true for the Holiday Parties.

Always closes at 9

Sorry, but as I posted above, that's not correct, as the times of the events in the park can change due to variables in Standard and Daylight Saving Time and other factors.

So is there some kind of theory one can apply...like, it stops running an hour before the last parade of the night, or two hours before wishes? I just want a better grasp. I know it would be a general answer, as there are ALWAYS exceptions at Disney, but want to have a better idea, since it cannot be just random.

Your question is hard to answer because so many variables involved.Best advice I can give you is ask CM sometime during your visit.Even then though you might get a different answer from CM's has happened to me before.Sorry but I think no one is going on board can give you a definite answer.General advise is pretty good from what I have read.

As an FYI, the MK railroad will be closed for refurbishment from October 12th to November 20th.
I think it would be a good idea to ask at the entrance the days you visit when the last train runs.
:)

Just saw it run by Main Street at 9:27. Couldn't tell if anyone was on it from my viewpoint.

Thanks everyone for your efforts!...Why I thought there would be rhyme and reason was probably flawed.

Gee, plan fast passes and dining far ahead, but Disney operations are subject to change daily: no wonder there are pirates...grrrr!

You guys are truly the best nonetheless!
