When DH and I were at WDW in September, we left the kids at Lilo's for a couple of hours and enjoyed dinner at Ohana. There was a per hour charge.

I just went to Disney's site and it says that there is a $55 fee for the "duration of the evening" for Lilo's and Sandcastle Club.

Has anyone used Lilo's of Sandcastle recently? Is it $55 from 5 - midnight?

Yes, both Lilo's Playhouse and the Sandcastle Club at BC have switched to a flat fee for their childcare service. It's $55 for the duration of the evening (I think the BC one opened at 4:30 pm). It includes dinner and some more structured activities than are offered at the other WDW kids clubs (which still charge an hourly fee). When my DS was at Sandcastle Club in December they did some cooking, a science experiment and Capt. Hook came to visit.

Edited to add: they do offer DVC and AP discounts if you have either of those.

Yes! I have the AP discount and we used it last fall at Lilo's. I can't decide which one I prefer. While $55 is pretty good for an entire evening, we have two kids. That makes for a very expensive dinner date. We paid around $60 in September for both of them so we could eat at Ohana. For $110 we'd have to make an entire evening of our date.

I found this online in an article:

There’s some whimsy coming to two Children’s Activity Centers at Walt Disney World Resort. Beginning, December 4 at the Sandcastle Club at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Lilo’s Playhouse at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort kiddos will be able enjoy activities similar to the award-winning programming onboard Disney Cruise Line. These supervised centers that cater to kids 3 to 12 and will now offer cooking activities, adventures in science, plus enchanting character interactions. There’s still all sorts of toys and games, dress up, crafts, storytelling and dancing for little ones too – and dinner is included! So if you are looking for a fun night out while on vacation at Disney, rest assured your kids will have a magical night sure to delight. Pricing is $55 per child from 4:30 to midnight. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations and more information.

Wow. I had almost convinced myself to skip Lilo's and to go to Bluezoo with the complimentary two hour childcare. However, this sounds awesome for the girls. DH and I could surely find something to do for seven hours- even hit MK for MNSSHP. We have never been in the parks ALONE.

I'm wondering if Stitch is always there, and exactly who is involved in character interactions. I did see a photo of Chip and Dale, so maybe they are there.

DisneyWishes14 said Captain Hook came to the Sandcastle Club, so I wonder if it is theme-specific to the particular resort. It makes since that Stitch would be at Lilo's and Hook would be at the Sandcastle Club. I wonder if Peter Pan and Tink also do the Sandcastle Club, and if Lilo also does Lilo's (now that would really make sense). I would imagine Mickey or Minnie could do any of them.

I think the characters were theme specific and could be resort specific as well. I recall it was "pirate's night" the evening DS went to Sandcastle Club and Capt. Hook visited.
