I know that many people have said side by side strollers are hard on board. I know that it will be hard but I'm wondering how hard and where on board is hard exactly? I have a lightweight side by side and I REALLY don't want to waste money on individual umbrella strollers that we probably won't ever use again (even cheap ones.) We probably won't use the strollers much because the kids will walk mostly but we may need them for times when they are getting particularly tired or when we are walking a long way to something specific.
So... is it COMPLETELY impossible? or more like ..just annoying?

They're hard to use the elevators. As in, the elevators themselves sometimes are not all that large, and taking up a large block of space (if the people getting off and on will even let you get them in) in a small elevator can be unfair. 2 smaller strollers are much easier to squeeze around than one large one.

The passageways on the stateroom decks are hard. As in, they are slightly wider than your stroller would be. When you get the stateroom attendant carts in the passageway, as well as people wanting to walk the other direction down the passageway, it's not right to take all the space for just you. Single strollers can go single file.

The ships have strollers that you can use, call Disney directly to see about the availability on your particular ship. Since they at least walk you'll be fine. And don't be afraid to carry them a little bit. We only used our stroller one day in port. The rest of the time we carried in a carrier or had him walk. Just take it slow and uyou'll get to where you need to go on the ship.

I'm a little nervous to depend on the onboard stroller. i have twin 18 month olds and two 3 year olds. We don't have plans to be in a big hurry to go anywhere so I'm planning on letting them do a lot of walking but I think the strollers may be necessary sometimes and there is NO WAY we'll be carrying these guys.. they are hefty solid little things. :)

Does this picture better explain the problems you may have passing anyone or a housekeeping cart?
It can be a very long trip to find another way around an obstruction.

yeah that is small.. but honestly even without a stroller our group (7 of us) would take up the entire space! the hallways though... that could be a problem. :(

The hallways are honestly where it would be the biggest issue/annoyance....not only to other guests but for yourself as well if you need to back up down a long hallway and go around to the other side of the ship only to find another cart. Those take up about half the width and because the hosts work around the guests' activities there are always carts in the hallways.

But you can walk more or less single file if walking. A stroller - especially a double one - takes up pretty much all available space.
