Lets just do everything... Sept 2015 TR WDW, USO, HHN, CBBR - updated 31/10 Day 6

Day 6 - The day which changed our lives for ever!

Well if that title doesn't draw you in I don't know what will. Today was the day... it was Magic Kingdom day!

We awake super early and for some reason I really felt like taking a picture of my breakfast this morning. This was what I was eating most mornings that we would be out of the resort, some yummy blueberries with yoghurt on top and an apple for in the car. I think I mentioned it before but my appetite just wasn't what it usually was during this holiday and this could sustain me pretty much all morning. Usually I could eat a three course meal and still have space for more! I was also using the new bowls I purchased at the premier outlets.

20150921_072157 (800x450).jpg

We bundeled into the car and jumped straight onto the i4. I didn't turn on the satnav and just followed the signs but I couldn't understand why the signs for the magic kingdom would take us onto the 198 and then up into the Magic Kingdom... surely that's a really long way? Or do the sign posts take you this way to distribute traffic I wonder???

All I know is pretty soon we saw this...

20150921_075622 (800x450).jpg

YEY!!! Martin had some fun taking pictures of the billboards on the property.

20150921_075749 (800x450).jpg

20150921_075951 (800x450).jpg

And then we where here!! I was so happy to be driving under here... not so happy about the $18 parking charge however...

20150921_080054 (800x450).jpg

One of the best things about arriving early (other than the fantastic pictures because morning sky/light = amazing photos!) is you get a great parking spot. We were within walking distance of the TTC and we were on the very end of the row. BONUS! I took a photo so I knew where we were later.

20150921_080303 (800x450).jpg

Walking is good...

DSC04727 (800x600).jpg

I really wanted to go on the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom but the monorail wasn't open for this morning :( awwwww. Sorry about the fog... my lense was still car temperature and the Orlando humidity decided it wanted to create an annoying filter on my lens.

DSC04728 (800x600).jpg

So to the ferry instead. I suppose in one way this was quite nice because we'd never taken the boat over to the Kingdom before.

DSC04729 (800x600).jpg

While waiting for the boat I checked my FP+ plans for the day...

Screenshot_2015-09-21-06-37-41 (360x640).jpg

We also had a FP+ for space mountain at 4pm. I'd checked the FP+ options at midnight 30 days before (5am UK time, yes I'm that sad) but we couldn't get 7DMT... there wasn't a single time available so the plan this morning was to watch the opening ceremony and then hot tail it over to the mine train.

I was really looking forward to the Crystal Palace reservation because this would be my 1st character dining experience! I know I know, I'm a big kid but I don't care haha :P

Stay tuned...

Day 6 - count down to life changing event....

I wanted to see how good my camera zoom was so I took a far away close up picture of the castle. There was some strange smoke like stuff arising from behind it... I wasn't sure what it was!

DSC04731 (800x600).jpg

You can see it slightly better in this shot... there hadn't been any fireworks yet so I have no idea what it was. It looked cool though. The boats coming!

DSC04733 (800x600).jpg

A quick glance over to my favourite WDW resort. The Poly... I've never actually stayed here but it is still my favourite. There are the new bungalows over the water. I was quite shocked at their location. Considering their price if you got unlucky and got the bungalow which is the one closest in the picture below... all day and night you'd hear the hum of the ferries. That's not very luxurious.

DSC04734 (800x600).jpg

This would be our boat for the morning...

DSC04735 (800x600).jpg

Martin gazes longingly at Space Mountain... this is one of his favourite rides in WDW. You'll have to wait until 4pm!

DSC04737 (800x600).jpg

Contemporary... my least favourite of the WDW resorts. Its just too bland for my tastes although you can't beat the location!

DSC04738 (800x600).jpg

The ferry ride was nice however it feels too much like you're being herded like cattle. I much prefer the monorail!

We scanned our tickets and were in! 2nd day and all was going well with the tickets & FP+

DSC04739 (800x600).jpg

The halloween decorations were up! cute. The Mayor welcomes us to the park! With great dancers in beautiful costumes.

DSC04742 (800x600).jpg

Then the train arrives and who is on it?? Mickey!!! Yey Mickey!

DSC04745 (800x600).jpg

I had to get a picture of Stitch. Love Stitch... also the ugly step sisters are a hoot.

DSC04747 (800x600).jpg

A packet of streamers later and we were let into the park... no time for photos Martin we're on a mission...

Day 6 - 7DMT while counting down...

Martin I said no pictures we can't dawdle! Martin snapped some shots with his phone while we made our way into new Fantasyland.

20150921_084958 (800x450).jpg

Castle! Yey... I do love seeing the castle. I'm in Disney!!!!

20150921_085041 (800x450).jpg

We made it! The queue was outside the queue line but they had only just opened. The timer said 45 minutes but I knew that wasn't true. The trains were going round full of people! So excited!

DSC04748 (800x600).jpg

This is Martin's excited face...

DSC04749 (800x600).jpg

I was being vain this morning... sorry for that. haha.

DSC04750 (800x600).jpg

I wanted to show off my t-shirt. It was only £6 and I love it!

DSC04751 (800x600).jpg

Inside the queue line we had a go with some of the interactive elements. Martin got some photos with his phone. We were chatting with the family behind us who were from Australia! I love Australia :D We both remarked how cheery all the CM's were so early in the morning.

20150921_091529 (800x450).jpg

Gotta have me picture with a barrel.

20150921_091543 (800x450).jpg

The ride itself was fun. It is short which I was expecting and I wouldn't queue more than 15 minutes for it but the animatronics were great and if you're at the back (which we were) the drop is quite thrilling. All in all, I'm really glad we rode.

Next up was the tea cups.. I really really really hate tea cups. I'll only go on them if Martin promises not to spin the cup. As you already know he's done all his spinning on X-force in Islands of Adventure so I begged him not to spin on this ride with me.

I feel like he was planning something... happy, sad, scheming... its all one face with Martin.

DSC04752 (800x600).jpg

I however.. made my emotions perfectly clear!

DSC04753 (800x600).jpg

Martin did try to spin the blooming cup but after I shouted at him he stopped. That might seem a bit OTT but he promised he wasn't going to spin the cup. If I get motion sick on a ride I stay feeling queasy pretty much for the rest of the day and I really didn't want to feel sick for the rest of the day.

Day 6 - Grim grinning ghosts on our countdown...

I know I know, I'm still going on about this countdown... I promise its not much longer until you'll know what it is.

After exiting the tea cups we saw the evil step mother and her two daughters on the carousel. This was insanely awesome! I really love that they can do this.

DSC04755 (800x600).jpg

The Haunted Mansion only had a 15 minutes queue so we decided to go on this. The day was already heating up and it was nice to get out of the heat.

DSC04756 (800x600).jpg

A lot of the interactions weren't working in the queue which was a shame :( but the line was moving so quickly it didn't really matter all that much.

DSC04760 (800x600).jpg

Martin... did I just see that statue blink? ;)

DSC04761 (800x600).jpg

Unstretched stretching room...

DSC04762 (800x600).jpg

And we were out. A complete classic... I love this ride. We had our heads swapped by the hitch hiking ghosts which was funny. I really wanted to check out the new HM shop and I found a lot of cool things although I didn't actually buy anything. But I did try on this hat.

DSC04768 (800x600).jpg

Our ADR was coming up so we took a wander through Fronterland and saw chip and dale.

DSC04769 (800x600).jpg

It was so hot already!

20150921_100728 (800x450).jpg

We had about 30 minutes to kill so we decided to climb the Swiss family Robinson tree. This is always a fun little time killer.

DSC04772 (800x600).jpg

Watching the water come up!

DSC04773 (800x600).jpg

We killed about 15 minutes here and then headed over for our ADR :D

Day 6 - We need to eat before we get to the countdown's end...

Yey! Much like the sci fi diner this reservation was pure luck. I was just checking the app one day and there it was! I was so excited!

DSC04776 (800x600).jpg

We checked in and I got the buzzer.

20150921_102935 (800x450).jpg

A short 10 minutes later and we were in. I love how bright and airy this restaurant feels.

DSC04791 (800x600).jpg

Tigger and piglet figures in the shrubs. So cute!

DSC04787 (800x600).jpg

Awww and Eeyore... so cute. I think I'm dying from cuteness...

DSC04789 (800x600).jpg

Martin took a photo of the whole restaurant on his phone. It was really big but it didn't feel noisy or loud. Our server was fantastic and he was so charming and really made two adults at a character buffet feel super relaxed. He let us know the characters had just gone over to the other side of the restaurant and that we had a good half an hour before the would make their way to us. So time to eat!

20150921_103235 (800x450).jpg

Martin's thinking... why have you brought me here woman!

20150921_103141 (800x450).jpg

Shortly after sitting down the characters did the little parade with the children. Our server tried to get us up to do it but I think that's a step too far for both of us. :P

DSC04780 (800x600).jpg

We both elected for orange juice and I started with the sweets! With my bad appetite I actually wanted to make sure I ate what I wanted to here... not what I should. If you know what I mean. On the plate was french toast, breakfast lasagne, mickey waffle and a selection of pastries. All were delicious!

DSC04777 (800x600).jpg

I also had my savoury plate which again was really nice. Except the eggs, they were a bit meh.

DSC04778 (800x600).jpg

Martin ate his plates so quickly I never got a picture but I do remember he had pancakes with syrup which he loved.

Day 6 - Character time!

After we had finished eating we both just relaxed and took in the surroundings. It was nice to just sit and have a good chat.

Then the characters started arriving... 1st up was piglet who was really cute.

DSC04781 (800x600).jpg

Then Eeyore. He was by far the best interaction of all of them. He was being really sweet and blowing me kisses.

DSC04782 (800x600).jpg

Martins face! :rotfl: I don't know if he wants to laugh or cry!

20150921_111640 (800x450).jpg

Then tigger came and we both got a picture with him!

DSC04786 (800x600).jpg

And finally the main man, er bear... Pooh of course!

20150921_111855 (800x450).jpg

Martin's mum was so happy. Pooh bear is her favourite character and I sent her this picture and she was ecstatic.

20150921_111905 (800x450).jpg

We paid the bill, again big tip for the server because he was brilliant! and we left. What a great experience that breakfast was. I really really really enjoyed it. I'm not in a massive rush to do a character buffet again in a hurry but it was certainly fun!

As we were just outside the castle it was definitely time for castle pictures!

DSC04793 (800x600).jpg

I'm so glad the partners statue was out of the box it had been in! So much so that I took a picture. You can probably notice skrims that were up to the left of the castle. There was a lot of construction work still happening in the hub. Fortunately it was fairly easy to avoid getting the walls in the photos but meh, construction walls.

DSC04794 (800x600).jpg

Hurray! Castle photos!

DSC04795 (800x600).jpg

So its got the point now... the next post has the "life changing" event in it... You may or may not have guess what it is... you'll just have to read on...

Day 6 - The life changing event!

After Martin took that photo of me in front of the partners statue he noticed a photopass photographer and said it would be nice to have a photo with both of us in it. I wasn't too sure because it was really hot and we'd already been in the sun for a good few minutes taking photos and there was a bit of a line. I said we should come back later but Martin pulled the puppy dog face and said he'd really like a nice photo of both of us for a picture frame at home. I rolled my eyes and passed him the camera and told him to get in line for the photopass lady then. As it happened she'd just finished up with a family so I moved over to infront of the partners statue as Martin handed the camera over.

He walked over to me and the photopass person lifted up the camera and then this happened...

DSC04796 (800x600).jpg

I heard a massive gasp and then you can probably tell from my *hidden* face that I went into total shock. Martin said "I love you Rachel, I've loved you for 7 years and would you marry me?" It felt like an eternity that I stood there... like a deer in head lights... all that was going through my head is what the flip just happened?! Then I think the shock subsided and I said yes!

PhotoPass_Visiting_Magic_Kingdom_Park_7467680086 (800x533).jpg

Martin and I have been together for 7 years and neither of us are religious or even that bothered about marriage so this was a complete surprise to me! I was so happy that he did ask and in front of the castle too.

PhotoPass_Visiting_Magic_Kingdom_Park_7467677175 (800x533).jpg

Its hard to tell due to my sunglasses (thank goodness) but I was in tears by this point. The lady who gasped from the crowd shouted did she say yes?! and I nodded and they applauded. Oh gosh, I'm welling up even typing about it now. It was all so sweet.

Looking at the photos now all I can say is thank goodness I wasn't wearing my hat... haha! The shorts and shirt are bad enough but at least my hair was down and no cap on my head.

The 1st photo the photopass lady took with my camera then the next two are with her camera which we purchased. She said to Martin you could have given me a heads up what you were going to do to which he replied, if I had she would have known something was up.

Fair point... I'm a complete control freak (I admit it) and I've usually got a nose for when something isn't quite right but Martin got me on this occasion. He got me good! I had no clue.

We phoned his mum, my mum, both dad's and my bestfriend after this and sat in the new hub grassy area to let it all sink in.

IMG-20150921-WA0012 (450x800).jpg

A picture of the ring. I must say Martin really chose well. Its really the sort of thing I would have chosen for myself. Its nothing fancy but I loved it the second I saw it.

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to wear it at work because of our food manufacturing rules but I wear it everyday that I can. The friend that I told instantly messaged me back and said I had to go and get a celebration button from town hall. So we headed that way to pick one up. Unfortunately they don't do engagement buttons any more but the CM said I could have a happily ever after one instead and she would write engaged on it. She did one for me and one for Martin.

20150921_131744 (800x450).jpg

Thats as many updates as I can do at the moment but I shall do more soon! The rest of the day was truly magical at the Magic Kingdom as it felt like I was living on cloud nine!

coming up... I know we've just got engaged but we've still got FP+'s to use!

.

Nothing cheesy about it at all Rachel......it was lovely.........my husband proposed to me at the top of the Eiffel Tower......it was cheesy....lol....but lovely.......when I went to the loo after dinner, he had asked if a member of staff at Jules Verne could come up to the top with us and take pictures......I wondered why this woman kept smiling at me going up in the lift.....lol......they were delighted to do it and sent up a bottle of champagne and two glasses!

It was perfect though......so no it's not cheesy in front of the castle, I think it's beautiful......you'll never forget that!!

Awwwwwww... thats so sweet :D Paris is the city of love so its perfect. And as you say its so nice to have pictures to remember it.

The woman smiling in the lift would have totally clued me into what was going on, thats why Martin literally did not tell anyone what he was doing. Clever boy haha

Full disclosure.....I knew he was doing it as we had already bought the ring together, I knew exactly what ring I wanted and got it made specially..... .....but I thought he was going to do it on a private river cruise we had booked 2 nights later.......lol......so he really took me by surprise after all........and it shows!

Loving your pictures.......I did like Haunted Mansion at Disney.......such a fun little ride........that ride I would go back to Disney for.........:D

Any new updates...........:rolleyes1

Soon haha! I'm hoping to get a chance tonight. I was in London seeing hairspray over the weekend. It was brilliant, i would 100% recommend if musicals are your thing.

Martins at work late so I'm hoping to have a quiet one. Then I can get the next update done :)
