I know a bunch of us are going to be going to the live PodCast taping on December 11th at the Dolphin. How about everybody planning on bringing an item for GKTW.

There's a list out there somewhere of things they need - I'll see if I can find it and post a link. I remember that batteries are something they need.

DarthVader92 was kind enough to post the list below. Looks like lots of things that can easily be brought from home for those of us traveling.

I like this idea too, but is there someone willing to take the items over there? Shipping is ridiculously expensive.

I was presuming that we could get a volunteer from one of the locals ("townies") to drop it off.

I would be happy to take the items over to GKTW. I did this when we had the Poly meet.

    Hello,

This is such a great idea, DISers are so generous! I'd be happy to help transport donations as well.

One thing I thought I'd add is that GKTW is also in need of is items for Halloween. The Village held a Halloween party every Monday in October this year and it was such a success they are now celebrating Halloween on Mondays all year long!

Each child gets a Halloween goody bag full of little prizes, and all of those items are donated - things like cute pencils, stickers, little puzzles, strands of beads, fake bugs, vampire teeth, small jars of bubbles, etc. Halloween-themed items are great, though general Disney or other character/kid-friendly items are fine.

I mention this because there are probably some great Halloween items to be had on clearance right now, so even a few dollars could go a long way. The Dollar Spot at Target is great for this kind of thing (though right now a lot of that stuff is Christmas-themed). And these items might be easier to pack than a gas-powered pressure washer ;)

Just wanted to remind people of this. If you're coming to the PodCast taping, why not bring along some small item for GKTW.
