I am planning on doing laundry on the next to last day we are there and
I am wondering if I need to bring quarters or do I use my magic
band to use the washer and dryer? Thank you

You will need to use a credit card to operate any of the washers/dryers.

Just a tip about the resort laundry rooms. You can check availability of washers and dryers via Laundryview (http://www.laundryview.com/Disneyworld/).
We used it on our smartphones this past December at OKW and AKL and it helped us tremendously.

No option for cash anymore, and the laundry does not use MB technology since it's run by an outside vendor. Just a credit or debit card. We did notice that the dry cycles are longer now, no need for us to purchase an extra cycle to get everything dry.

The don't take Amex so keep that in mind!

We always bring laundry pods and dryer sheets.

The default dryer time is a bit long (they run HOT so keep an eye on your clothes!). You can change the time of the dryer, and it adjusts the cost slightly. I don't dry things for very long, and bring extra metal dry cleaning hangers from home, so I can hang up a lot to dry without so much wrinkling.

I do laundry every 2 or 3 days at Disney, so we pack light (and things get sweaty so we sometimes go through 2 shirts a day).
