We are hoping to book the March 3rd Dream cruise out of Port Canaveral, but are having to wait for an insurance claim to be processed. We had to cancel our January cruise due to a family emergency. I'm getting a little nervous about getting the room booked, but I can't afford to book it until my insurance claim is processed or my tax return comes back in the next few weeks. I've been checking the dates online several time a day and a few times it's shown all the ocean view rooms sold out. It doesn't matter to me if we have an ocean view or inside, as long as we get on the boat. I don't want to pay the higher prices for suite either, I'd rather use my money for excursions.

Is there an actual cutoff date for when you can book the voyage other than when the ship gets full of course?

The closest I ever booked was Thursday for a Saturday departure.

The cruises are taken off line 3 days before embarkation. You CAN book after that but you must do it on the phone to DCL. Your TA can also do this for you. I have talked to people who claim to have booked the evening before the cruise (and I have no reason to doubt them), and read of people booking that morning.

What you cannot do is to just show up at the terminal--they can't help you from there. You must book over the phone if you are fewer than 3 days from embarkation.

Thanks for the info, make me feel a little better, now I just have to worry about the ship getting filled up before I can book!

Any one have any insight as to whether there might be any bigger discounts within a few weeks of the cruise?

At this point, you should keep a close eye - you might get luck and get *GT rates, but if there aren't any oceanview available now, doubt they'll appear later...

There are several 4a cabins available on deck 9, as well as a few 9B on deck 2.

Thanks! I felt really bad hearing about all the FE gifts that were delivered to my empty room :( (well I guess I don't know if it was empty) However when everyone was returning from their amazing sound vacation I was thinking about how I much I hate it when vacation time is over, so I at least can still look forward to it!

My schedule is a little crazy the next few months, so finding a cruise that fits in is a little difficult! I have to be in Texas feb 26-28th for work, so when my plane lands in Kansas City on the 28th DH and the kiddos will be there to pick me up and head to Florida!
