Hey y'all! Trying to decide where we'll be staying for our 2017 trip.
We're looking for November 2017.
10-11 days, though only 5-6 park days. (So LOTS of resort/pool time.)
We'll be 6. Me and DH. Kids aged 8, 6, 4 and 8 months.
For cost we're looking at a 1 br. On rented points. Hopefully standard view.

We're thinking Animal Kingdom Lodge because the point value, and also the amount of things to do around the resort.
We have food restrictions, so we DO NOT eat in restaurants, so that's not a deciding factor for us.

So here's how I'm seeing the comparison:

Jambo House: The "main" building. More things to do. Kids club. Standard view is pool. Closer to lobby.

Kidani Village: Second bathroom (yay!), splash area, community hall, but bigger, and not as much of a "resort" feel. Standard view is parking lot and could be far away from main areas of resort.

I'm leaning towards Kidani Village, mainly because of the second bathroom and the splash area for the younger kids. Am I making a mistake by choosing the "kid sibling" of the main resort?

Kidani is very nice. The one thing to consider will be that the wings at Kidani are very long. It can be a pretty big hike to the lobby or to elevators. And yes, everyone requests "near lobby" for their room request, so very few people get it. Jambo is, by nature, more compact.

Oh yes. I forgot about that issue. I'll edit my OP to reflect that!

I assume you won't have a car? We like both but prefer the pool at Jambo. I prefer the resort at Kidani. The buses are better at Kindani because they stop there first so by the time they get to Jambo in peak seasons they can be full. But November should be low unless it's Thanksgiving.

They are both nice resorts. I would probably go Kidani. You can always use Jambo pool if you don't like the Kidani pool. But the extra bathroom, buses and resort is nicer I think.

I would absolutely choose Kidani for a 1BR.
The Jambo bathroom is not attached to the master bedroom. The only shower is in the Jacuzzi tub, the Jambo arrangement is sub-standard to any other DVC.

The largest reason to choose Jambo is restaurant proximity. (Which is a non-issue to you)

With a lot of resort time, you absolutely should make a visit or 2 to Jambo, and visit with their cultural ambassadors and take in the great lobby. And even use the Jambo pool. (Jambo's more mild pool slide might appeal to the 4 and 6yo)
It's easy to go between the 2 resorts. There is a shuttle van that drives between the 2 resorts, in addition to bus and walking options.

Kidani also has several activities, including the night vision animal viewing. There is the Community Hall in Kidani.

Also just so you know that Kidani is the first stop for the park buses and then they stop at jambo. Not sure if that will matter to you but they get packed up pretty quick sometimes so being the first pick up is a plus. Also the second bathroom is an awesome perk. We are going next year and it will be a total of 5. So a two bathroom is a must since it will be me at 4 females.

I've stayed at Kidani twice and love it. The pool is wonderful, the splash area for the kids is great, and the main thing that you are missing by not being at Jambo house is the restaurants, which isn't an issue for you. And it isn't really that far of a walk (or you can take the shuttle over) to get to see the things that Jambo house has to offer.
