Just Hold On, We're Going Home...All 11 of Us Are Going to Mickeystoontown's Home! Update 10/27

Ah, the Disney bubble!! Being waited on hand and foot, having fun 24/7, that is the life!!! And no way can you have an accident in the bubble..NO REALITY ALLOWED past those gates!!!

MMMMM.... I do love me some Disney food porn! Um...when did your goofy little boy become a goofy man-child with a beard??? If only we could find some pixie-dust to keep our kids small.

Yay! :yay: you are home! Love the food pics, that pulled pork sandwich looks yummy.

*sigh* Caribbean Beach......oh how I miss you! I am right there with you & Hunter! I just want to take it all in as soon as possible and of course Disney has their own kind of smell!! Lol!

Talk about a stressful last few minutes before arriving! So glad you were able to avoid getting into an accident.

I love the Turkey BLT at CBR. My oldest DS ate one everytime we had a meal at Old Port Royale.

Hunter's photo is awesome! I love his sense of humor. And it is so shocking he picked pizza for his meal. I wonder what his total pizza count will be over this vacation.

I agree you're home once you cross that line.

That's so cool you met a Diser after just arriving.

Oh my gosh Hunter has changed so much from the last trip report! Glad you made it there safely! Can't wait to see CBR ourselves soon for the first time.

I always seem to look at Disney food pictures when I am hungriest.

I have no idea where the time went and Hunter grew into a man! Isn't it crazy!

The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and we ended up ordering it again later in the trip.

I want to rush right in and get that Disney feel as soon as we pull in.

The Dis Meet was a great way to start the trip!

I know! I have no idea when he grew up!

Don't you dare touch that!

We were assigned to the very last building in Jamaica which was okay because my only requests were Jamaica and that all of our reservations be linked. We knew that one had been granted and we'd soon know about the other.

The rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort had been refurbished since our last trip and, even though I had seen pictures, I was anxious to see them in "real life". We parked in the circle drive so that we could unload and started grabbing bags to take with us. I tend to overpack a little, okay, a lot, so we'd have to make more than one trip. We wound our way around the building and found our room all the way on the other side of the building. The walk to the parking lot would be a little long but the walk to the promenade took just seconds.

My family knows the first order of business....room pictures and I didn't even have to say "Don't you dare touch that!". Actually, the first order of business was oohing and aahing over the room makeover. It was so pretty! Then room pictures which are in no particular order.

During the refurbishment, the rooms also received queen size beds.

The pedestal on the table looks like a pineapple.

DSCF0565 (768x1024).jpg

Our room did not have a bed that pulls down from the dresser.

DSCF0566 (768x1024).jpg

The old rooms used to have a bench with a large drawer at the bottom. The benches that are in the room now do not. While I did like the extra storage room that the older benches had, I did appreciate having room to store our luggage and shoes.

DSCF0567 (768x1024).jpg

Our room was a corner room which meant that we had no mirror above the table because the window was there. In non-corner rooms, there is a mirror.

Light fixture above the bed headboard.

More pictures of the dresser. There is a set of drawers on the left and the right of the dresser.

DSCF0572 (768x1024).jpg

The refrigerator is located in the middle section. If you are in a room that sleeps five (has a pull down bed in the dresser), the refrigerator is in a separate cabinet near the dresser.

Don't you dare touch that! Part 2

I know that Dee, who maintains the Beach Club thread, will understand why I took so many pictures of the room. I help with the Caribbean Beach Resort thread and wanted to get as many "informational" type pictures that I could.

Drawers open:

Drawer from the side so that others could get an idea of the drawer depth.

Coffee pot:

With the drawer of the coffee maker open so others could see the size.

Coffee, creamers, sweeteners left by Mousekeeping.

OMGoodness!!! Cannot wait to stay here!!! Note to self: request Jamaica, cause that's where Mickeystoontown stays...so it must be an awesome location. :-)

Don't you dare touch that! Part 3

The sink area. Sorry for the elbow in the picture. Underneath the double sinks is a storage area. This is where we stored our toiletries, our hairdryer (they come in the room but we bring our own), and "stuff".

There is a fold in/out magnifying mirror near the sinks.

The toilet and bathtub/shower. There is a towel rack above the toilet and, if you need a place to hang wet clothing, towels, etc., there is a retractable clothes line over the tub. Although you can't see it well, the bathroom door has a full size mirror on the sink side.

The wall safe located to the left of the sink. You set your own passcode. Super simple to use. There is also an iron and ironing board. I guess that I didn't take a picture of the closet rod and shelf above. There were about a dozen wooden hangers provided but I brought more from home. There is an ice bucket and cups in the room but we never used it so it stayed on the closet shelf.

**Up next: This is nice and all but let's get outta here!

We love Jamaica! We were in the very furthest building from everything and our walk still wasn't bad. It was so nice and peaceful!

The room renovations look great! I have yet to stay at CBR myself. Hopefully someday I will.

Holy cow, how did I miss so much already? I love sharing your drive with you. Ours is about 18-19 hours (I don't know how that other guy from Milwaukee takes 20-21 hours. He must drive slow. :)). Glad you got to leave earlier this time! That's always nice.

Um, Hunter's hair got so long! Wow! It looks good on him!

Sorry about the last minute traffic INSIDE WDW. that isn't supposed to happen. Glad you made it safe and sound to CBR. The new rooms look so nice!

And I'm with you and Hunter. I can't wait to get into that CBR lobby and smell the smell!

Love your room photos. I really wish I were back there right now!

We stayed in Jamaica 46. We loved it! The room was beautiful and we were lucky enough to get the trundle bed.

Wow! The renovations look wonderful!! I really hope to be able to stay here again some time soon!!!

That's when I heard "Lisa?". It was Connie from the Dis! She and her family were waiting on Magical Depress to take them to the airport. We chatted for a few minutes. She had bought a Tervis mug and realized that it had a crack in it that same day and we were wondering if they would replace it. I believe that it was her husband or possibly a child came in and told her that Magical Express was there and she needed to hurry up. It was so nice to see a Diser within minutes of our arrival! What a way to start a trip! There's no picture proof but Connie can confirm that we did meet.

Yes, I can absolutely confirm! Since I knew from the CBR thread how our dates lined up, I was planning to keep an eye out for y'all but, if it hadn't been for my broken cup, I would have missed you! It was great to say "hello" in person even if it was just for a quick second on our way out.

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

I'm actually surprised that there was much to miss 'cause you know how I usually update....life gets in the way and I don't get to post as often as I would like.

You should see Hunter's hair now. It is lots longer than in that picture.

I'm here!!! I think we're going to be there at the same time this May 2016!!

Woo Hoo! i looked at your ticker and it looks like you are right!

Me Too! I even tried to make a Thanksgiving trip to Disney happen but it just didn't happen. Boo!

Lacey's room had a trundle as did one of the other of our four rooms.

Wow! The renovations look wonderful!! I really hope to be able to stay here again some time soon!!!

I hope that you get to return to the CBR sooner rather than later!

It's Connie to the rescue! See y'all, Connie verified that we did indeed meet!
