Well I'm not sure how I did it, but I bought a groupon for Papa Murpheysand found out AFTER purchasing it, that it's for the CA bay area. I purchased it through a Dallas groupon?? So, I understand the pain!!

Soo...I got groceries and household items from Target today, but I didn't pay for them because they forgot to charge me. As I was trying to tell the security guard, I got yelled at...

I went to Target to pick up a few things. I always check the end caps because that's where they place the sale items. They have 12oz bottles of Nyquil on sale for $2.88! $2.88!!! It usually costs $10 for one bottle...so of course, I grabbed 5 bottles. I went to check out and the cashier asked for my ID. "Sir, why do you need to see my ID?" "Because you're trying to purchase a sleep aid" :| Really??? Well, I didn't have my ID. I only had my red card, keys, and cell phone. I told him I had a picture of it and asked if that would work. He called over the manager to ask for permission. The manager saw the bottles and began questioning me: "Why are you buying so much? Do you give it to your kids? (I had the boys with me) Do the kids stress you out?" I was very offended. Umm...I'm buying so much because it's a good deal! He then calls the security guard who escorts me (and my cart) to the back for questioning. Really?? Over NyQuil? Apparently, it is used to make meth. Clearly, I was not aware. I just like deals. He said he had to call the police because I posed a high risk for abuse. I called my cousin who is a doctor, and her mom was a lawyer, to ask if this was right. She told me they can't hold me, and I should leave. I told the guard and manager I would be leaving, and it is considered kidnapping to hold me there against my will. I proceeded to leave, and the guard gave me the cart with my items (that I didn't pay for because I was pulled away during the middle of my transaction). I walked towards the register, and he asked me to please leave. I told him I needed to go back to the cashier to pay, but he refused to listen to me. He yelled and me and said they don't promote illegal activity and it is best I leave before the police arrive. I was pissed (and very embarrassed)!! No, I do not make meth or dope my kids. I'm not sure who takes meds for "fun," but I definitely don't. It tastes disgusting! I just happen to know a deal when I see one. That's it! I wasn't even aware an ID was required to buy NyQuil. This is madness!!! ugh! Well, that's my Target rant for the day. Sorry, just still kinda upset about it.

On a positive (kinda) note, I worked from 6am-2pm from the comfort of my home and earned OT. YAY! :)

I would be upset as well. And you did the right thing by leaving, but I can see how frustrating that and embarrassing that would be. Also, I thought they removed the ingredients in Nyquil that allowed for production of meth. But maybe I am wrong?

ETA: The version of Nyquil with psuedoephedine (used to make meth), is called Vicks Nyquil D Cold and Flu Nighttime Relief and I believe this version must be kept behind a counter in the pharmacy section. So I can't imagine this is the version you were buying.

The edited version of what I REALLY want to say: NO flipping way!!!!! That is total BS!!! Jen is 100% correct about the ingredients!! All medications with Sudaphed must be bought from the pharmacy window with I.D. and a signature!!

I hope you will write an email to Target to tell them about the treatment you received!! Totally unacceptable and you deserve a heartfelt apology!!! I can only imagine how scared, upset and angry you must have been. Especially with your boys there!!! ((((HUGS)))).

VACATION
24th - No buy #9

Yay for vacation!!!! I'm SO impressed. How do you not spend money on vacation ? ! ? ! That's awesome!!!

JULY:

1- No buy #1!!
2- No buy #2!
3- Well not a no buy day. We went to Marshalls and I found a bathroom shelf, for above the toilet. I've been looking for one I like and score!!!! It was only $16.99. Went to dinner, but used a gift card, but got coffee, $6.53. (Which I never do, so it was a treat for us!!! )
4- I can call this one now, lol, were not going anywhere today and we have leftovers from yesterday, lol. No buy #3!!! I will report if this does change, but very doubtful!
5- Able to call this one early. Staying home! #4
6- No buy #5. Went to dinner and out with my daughter, but she bought dinner!! Yes, I'm spoiled. And it was fun to go to a nice/trendy restaurant that the boys would have hated, lol.
7- No buy #6
8- Well I took meat out of the freezer, but than I bought an instant pot, as our rice cooker died, (it was $10 7 years ago at a black Friday sale, as well as the crock of my crock pot getting broken in our move, so this one pressure, slow, rice, Brown's and sautees!
9- I am amazed! I went grocery shopping and got crickets, cricket food, ear cleaner for our Wolfie,, groceries and nothing else!!!! All necessities!! I love my grandmunchkins, but it was much easier to get a no buy day alone, lol. No buy #7!!
10- Yay, stayed home and enjoyed looking at instant pot recipes, so no buy #8!!
11- No buy #9! But the r especially two things I'm hoping to find discounted for Prime Day!!!!!
12- Bought my new IP, but returning the one to Wal Mart that was $30 more and wanted to buy a lot more things, but didn't. I won't claim a no buy, as I did spend money though.
13- Yay, my instant pot came today, a day early!!!! Stayed home today so no buy #10!!
14- No buy #11 and I cooked a roast in my IP and it turned out wonderful!!!! Tomorrow and Saturday May not be no buy days, but I will be returning my more expensive IP to Wal Mart so will use that money on Friday. So that may actually turn out to be a no spend day, since I already counted that money!
15- Returned the IP to Wal Mart, we went to Durant to celebrate my birthday!!! I ended up spending less than the amount I got back, so no buy #12!
16- Yay! My grandmunchkins came home and my daughter bought our lunch so no buy #13!!
17- Stayed home, spent my day with the grandmunchkins, cooked in my IP, no buy #14!!
18- Somehow I threw my back out, so I ordered the grandmunchkins pizza. I had a gift card so I'm not counting this. I made my daughter and I some cheesy chicken rice in the IP so I'm calling this no buy #15. If my back is better I need to go to the store tomorrow though.
19- Not a no buy day. Went to lunch and got the boys a game I promised them. I got it before we bought groceries so they were extra good at the store lol.
20- I'd like to say it was a no buy day but I'd be lying. I ordered accessories for my IP.
21- Edited to add today. No buy #16.
22- No buy #17
23- Had trouble moving as my back is out. Silver lining, no buy #18
24- I bought, lol. Got an immersion blender. Tried it tonight and it worked great!!! I'm starting to realize the reason I wasn't enjoying cooking was that we had gotten rid of a lot of things, so everything was harder and took longer. I'm getting my groove back lol.
25- No buy #19! Close to my goal!!
