Juli & Wayne ~ WP/WH 11/1/12: Our day was a fairytale... recap started!

Today is 1 month until the wedding and 28 days until we head to Florida and there's still so much to do.

Here's some stuff I have done:

Customized our guest book:

and pen holder:

Received the buttons that are going in the welcome bags:

I'm like 85% satisfied with these. The color of the yellow lettering of our names is off and it looks green.

Made a ring box with a cute little pillow inside:

Made our escort cards/favors:

I sketched out the peg dolls for our cake but I haven't painted them yet:

I made my bridal ear ball cap and posted a tutorial to my blog about it.

I made the groom ears too but haven't done the blog yet.

I made our table signs:

So, things left to do:

Clothing: Wayne needs his shirt and tie and some funky socks, I think.
The boys need dress pants, shirts and ties. Andy and Joey still need to get their Chucks. Lexi's dress is still not in from David's Bridal.

We have our marriage license paperwork from the Brevard County Courthouse. We need to get their notarized and back to Florida.

Payments left: We have the final payment to DFTW, which is actually basically just the taxes and service charges. I think we are coming in right at the $12K minimum and owe like $1200. We have the final payments to the photographer, videographer, officiant and makeup people.

I've written the ceremony and sent it off to Rev. Glynn Ferguson but we need to write our vows.

I have started on the kids' goodie bags including the bound coloring book (I tied them with ribbon, my stapler wasn't long enough!) and crayons and a top. I need a couple more goofy things (goofy, not Goofy) to throw in and I can finish those off with one of two options. I can either use Mickey on all the boy bags and Minnie on the girl bags or I can use the character for their table where they're sitting and put the kid's name on the bag. I can't decide which.

I need to finish off the welcome bags and mail them off to Florida for someone to distribute. Right now they have the door signs in them and I've carded the buttons for each party. I want to do a newsletter with information for the guests about stuff. I think I'm going to go to Costco and get some snacky things to throw in. What else should I put in? The bags themselves are pretty cool but rather large. They're the reuseable shopping bags from the Disney Store that I snatched up on clearance.

Cute, right? You'd be happy to get a bunch of goodies in one of these?

The last big project I have is our Halloween costumes. I want to smack myself in the head. We're doing MNSSHP the night before the wedding, on Halloween. I must not have been thinking straight when I made that decision. So we're planning to have the kids out late the night before our wedding and I have to have us all dressed and cute and then the makeup ladies from Beaute Speciale are coming at 6:45 in the morning! Arrrgghhhh!

We're going as the characters from Up! Wayne and I will be Carl and Ellie from the Zoo. Andy will be Russell and I'm basically just putting him in his cub scout uniform. Joey will be Dug and I'm going minimalistic on the costume- beige clothes, a headband with ears and some face paint. Same for Nathan, who will be Alpha. Lexi will be Kevin and I'm making her a rainbow tutu to go with a royal blue tee shirt and black leggings. I'll either do face makeup for her beak or if I can find one on an elastic, I'll do that, plus some peacock feathers on a headband.

The packing and organizing is a little overwhelming.

Wish me luck, ladies!

I love all your last touches! Def love your bags for the welcome bags...We got ones there too, they are the red, gray, and white ones. And it's great cause the guests can reuse them!

It's soooooo exciting that you are so close!!!! And oh my MNSSHP the night before?!?!?! Are you nuts? Just kidding... Something I would totally do ;).

Finished the kids activity bags last night.

Here's my bags:

The character corresponds to the table where each kid is seated. Inside is the coloring book and a 24 box of crayons, a top, some silly bands, a Phineas and Ferb pen, a notepad and some bubbles.

Here's the inspiration shot from Pinterest:

We also went and got Lexi's dress pinned for alterations. It isn't ready until the week we leave, which is like 2.5 weeks away!!!!!

AARRGGGHHH!

We just got our DJ assignment: Steve Weinstein! I am excited! Today I am putting together our playlist! It's harder than I expected!

Wow, Juli! Everything looks great and you are getting so close!

Love the kids bags! They are awesome!

Good luck with the home stretch! Don't forget to breathe.

I've been following your PJ and everything is coming together so nicely! I can't wait to see pictures of the wedding! So close now!! :)

Thanks Bethie and Charliegirl!

SIXTEEN DAYS!!!!

This weekend I took our three little boys to the mall and their outfits for the wedding were purchased. What a hassle! Apparently, boys' suits only come in black and navy blue. I wanted tan or taupe. So instead of a suit, they're wearing tan dress pants, a white oxford shirt and a red clip on tie. They look adorable! Of course, all of the pants are way too long so I'll have to spend time this week hemming them all.

I still need to get a dress shirt and tie for Wayne. Lexi's dress is still being altered. I pick it up from David's on the 26th, I think. Still bummed I had to pay the rush alterations fee but oh well.

I've been working on all of the detail sheets for all of our vendors: photo, video, DJ... It's harder than I thought to make all of these decisions. I feel very flustered and pulled in different directions.

Our Halloween costumes are just about done. I need to sew my neckerchief. I need suspenders for Wayne and then I have to sew ears and tails for Dug and Alpha. My tutu for Kevin is amazing.

We leave in less than two weeks!!!

breathe honey!!!!! I'm sending pixie dust your way. I know it will all fall into place for that magical day. I'll be watching.

Look what I made for our cake. I still need to do my stepdaughter but I can't find the girl shaped peg I bought.

I haven't read the entire thing, but I was stalking reports tonight trying to find the wording for my save the dates -
I saw your wording a couple of weeks ago and was scared I wouldn't be able to find it again!
Even with my OneNote notebook (that actually is three because of skydrive), pinterest board and multiple spreadsheets, I keep losing stuff!

I can't wait to see pics of your wedding! and the halloween costumes!

Anyway, I sent you a facebook message asking if I could borrow your wording.

I feel like I should add a few million smilies to this post, but I'll just add this one for your upcoming big day! :yay:

Hey Celerystalker (great name!) -- I didn't get the FB message about the wording but I'm glad to share!

We're less than a week away from leaving! This time, next week, we'll be leaving for our rehearsal at the Wedding Pavilion. I'm pretty much a frantic mess. Not because of nerves about getting married (these feet are toasty warm!) but the orchestration of the whole thing. I guess this is the part where I sigh, throw up my hands and leave it all to Maxine.

But I am such a control freak!

I finished our costumes last night, just in time for my boys Cub Scouts Halloween party.

I shipped our welcome bags out to my friend who lives in Celebration and works at the GF. What went into those cute eco-shopping bags?
"Be Quiet as a Mouse" door signs
Our wedding buttons
pop-up laundry hamper
2 ponchos
hand sanitizer
band aids
sunscreen
hand lotion
ring pops
a carabiner (we always find these helpful in Disney!)
gum
Advil
a Disney magic towel (a compressed washcloth)

Argh! There was more but I don't remember!

I finished my step-daughter's peg doll and just need to clear coat it. I need to start getting things together to pack and to clean up the disaster that is my house.

I should probably try my gown on.

Here's a photo of Russell and Dug from last night's cub scout Halloween party.

I forgot to paint Dug's nose and I didn't spray Russell's hair.

They look awesome! I'm such a dork - I'm jittery for you because I know in a year I'll be doing the same! Love the inclusion of a pop up hamper!
