Has the sign up for this changed or is it about to change? We are visiting in April and I just want to be prepared for my little Jedi!

Also, where is the new Launch Bay located? Is it open?

Are there Star Wars fireworks at DHS now?

JTA sign up is near Indiana Jones, just beyond 50s Prime Time. Launch Bay is in the Animation Courtyard and opened late last year.

So it's the same procedure it was last year? In my Mickey Monitor magazine it says to visit the Jedi Training Page at WDW.com for sign up information. When I did that couldn't find anywhere to sign up....

Just want to confirm from someone there recently that the procedure for sign up is the same as it was last summer?

And sometimes they are allowing sign ups while the guests are held at internal ropes. Other days they don't, they wait till the internal rope drop. The issue is you won't know which they are doing on your day till you get there.

And realize the capacity more than doubled since last year. It is no where near as hard to get a spot as it once was

Yes, the day we were there they had three lanes to the far left at the entrance for JTA people. These lines were let in first and directed to the signup area. We were by no means at the front but we were there before they started letting the JTA lines in. We lucked out on having the fastest line at the tapstiles, just luck of the draw how many people are having trouble with their magic bands in front of you. The first show was full by the time we signed up but we were still back to the internal ropes before they let in the rest of the guests. Go early. We were there about 45 min. before opening and it wasn't long before they let us in to go sign up.

Capacity has increased, but I would still not recommend waiting long to sign up. Better to be early than miss out. Going at park open or before is a pretty sure-fire tactic.

I would agree that it is better to go early than be disappointed. However, we had an ADR for 8:10 at H&V so we were there early anyway. When got to DHS about 7:50 they were letting people in to sign up for JTA. It was the same line to the far left as early breakfast reservations. DH and DD (who is too young for JTA) went to check us in at H&V, and the other DD and I went to sign up for JTA. We had to wait about 3-4 minutes to sign up. Not bad at all. We could have gotten the first show, but we decided to sign up for the 11:40 show because the first show was at 9:40, but you had to check in at 9:10. I wasn't sure we would be done with breakfast at that point. When we showed up at 11:10, I saw that they were still signing kids up for later shows. I have no idea what times those shows were for, and this wasn't a particularly crowded day. Even if you miss rope drop or the early entry they are doing now, you may have a shot at getting a spot with the increased capacity.

The entrance to the sign up line is at the Indiana Jones show and winds over to the sign-up and dropoff area at the Indy shop.

We toured Monday (TP says it was a crowd level 8), no EMH. I don't know how early they started the signups, but we were arrived at the end of the line by 8:40. The shows prior to 1:10pm were full by 9am. We got our choice of afternoon shows when we got to the front of the line at 9:15. I would imagine they sold out before 10am, or pretty soon after at least. Can't say for sure.

Be aware that you must have your child with you in the sign up line. It moves pretty slowly. I can't see a good way to do this and rope drop TSMM. You would need 2 mornings or a FP for TSMM. We chose to only to JTA signup.

Launch Bay is in the Animation Courtyard.

They let people sign up early at random. It varies and has nothing to do with crowds

The sign up spot is the store between 50's Prime Time and Indy Jones. You enter the line by going in to the FP entrance for Indy

What specifically is happening is HS opens their turnstiles about 15,20 min early. They then hold guests at internal ropes till right at opening, usually 9:00.
Sometimes they allow sign ups while guests wait on the internal ropes . Sometimes they don't. Best bet go and if you can sign up before rope drop great, you are ahead for the day.
