Thanks, I was in Niagara for the past two days at Great Wolf Lodge. Are you flying out of Buffalo? We are flying out the day before.

When I arrive in Houston I am going to stay in Galveston for a night and then when we get back from the cruise I was going to stay at the JW Marriott in downtown Houston by the Galleria mall, for the next two nights three days. Reading some of the posts maybe this is not a great plan. What would you recommend? Stay in Galveston or go to downtown Houston?:thanks:

For those flying in but haven't booked their flights yet, Southwest has a great sale going on right now that started on Cyber Monday. Don't know if that could help at all. I found flights for the hubby & oldest son to fly over to meet up with us for Christmas (Hobby to Jackson, MS) for like $79 each. The youngest & I plan to drive over to my folks house earlier in December. :upsidedow

It's up to you, really. There's stuff to do in Galveston that's fun. The Galleria is a rare treat for us because we try not to go downtown too much. That'd be a day of fun for me right there. Heck, a meal at the Cheesecake Factory in the Galleria would be all the excuse I need. LOL! Not sure what to recommend for the 2nd day, maybe a trip to one of the museums or something? I'm not super-familiar with that part of town. LOL!

Okay, my DH just checked flights to DFW and they were much cheaper than into Hobby. He found through American the four of us could fly round trip for $1050 I believe. I think that's what we'll be doing.

JennKet made the FE list! I don't think there's going to be many more additions since it looks like everything but 7 00T's is booked up now. It's going to be a great cruise!

***ATTENTION EVERYONE ~AND~ FISH EXTENDER PARTICIPANTS***

I'm not on the FB group so I'm not sure if there's been any discussion over there about an embarkation day group meet. When we sailed the Magic last May the group met up at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge on deck 3 (aft according to DCL's website but it's situated between the midship & aft elevator banks). If there's no other embarkation day meets I would like to suggest this same time & location because we found it quite convenient. It'd be great to have the chance to say hello to everyone and start getting to know our shipmates.

Fish Extender participants, it's particularly important to set up a spot to meet up on embarkation day prior to sail away so if there's any stateroom number changes I can get that info distributed to everyone. I'll send out an email to everyone on the list once the sign-ups close and the list is final. I'll be giving you my cell phone number that you can text any stateroom number changes on embarkation day. At the group meet I'll double-check to make sure there's no other issues with the stateroom numbers so nobody misses out on the exchanging. I'm not anticipating a lot of changes considering how sold out the cruise is but just in case I want to make sure I'm clear how we'll handle this stuff. I'll send out more details with the email next week.

Anywhoo, since I'm not on FB I'd appreciate if someone could copy/paste the embarkation meet suggestion over there if there's not been one set already. If there's been an embarkation day meet already set up please let me know what was discussed.

Also, if anyone would like to try to plan some other meets during the cruise we can do that. During an at sea day meeting pre-lunch can be fun to do so everyone can split off to whatever restaurant they're planning to go to in groups and sit together to visit over a meal. Just a suggestion. Oh! And maybe we could try to meet on the deck 7 "secret deck" sometime! That'd be neat!

So excited! My oldest discovered the surprise. That kid is too clever for his own good sometimes. The youngest still is utterly clueless and, thankfully, everyone is still committed to making it a big surprise for him on Christmas. :thumbsup2
