It's A WONDERful 2015 - Feb Cruise, May WDW grand tour, and France/DLP! NEW 10/25 Nice & End!

seems like mostly a fun morning (other than some "princess" behavior - though no real breakfast can do that ;) )

We've never done BBB but I still get a bit annoyed by the proposed changes to remove the pictures as part of it.

Aria looks very serious getting her pixie dust sprinkled on her

She looks so happy on 7DMT though!

really cute picture of her with Cinderella!

Ach, you got another update in while I was commenting!

Lunch looks pretty darn good (though I agree sharing the small salad was a bit odd) - looks like pretty solid princess interaction for a character meal! And Aria really was concentrating on her wish!

Love how cute the girls were together - great how they remember each other and enjoy each others company!

I've never been a big Duffy fan (felt like the just created him to sell the outfits) but I know a lot of people loved him so not really sure why they got rid of the meet. I mean it was just that one spot - do we really need another place to meet Pluto or Daisy or whomever is meeting there now?

Dinner looks good - I always mix up Tutto Gusto and Tutto Italia but your pasta looks really good!

I will send you a pm. I read through the current TR so I'm caught up! Congratulations on the birth of your new little one. My youngest turned one in April. Nursing is so challenging and pumping and on top of it the stress of her allergies--you're doing amazingly! I lasted longer with this one than I had with my others but I am very ready to be done pumping! I will be looking forward to a possible baby trip to get tips for Violet's first trip. She'll be two--we waffled forever on going this summer but decided to hold off much to the chagrin of my other 3. Anyway, great TR. Love the ADR's and the cute ensembles!!

This is such a wonderful TR! I read i ALL (!) and started to follow the thread as I'm so curious about Your France trip:)

I wish Aria was more outgoing, just because I hate how I have always been so introverted, but maybe Maya will take after Andrew (he is the opposite - can't be alone!).
I understand - I was so shy as a kid that it caused me problems at school, etc. (like I once got downgraded on a group assignment because I didn't talk a lot - even though I did more than my fair share of the work. :sad2:). Interesting that Andrew can't be alone - didn't realize that. Dug is pretty extroverted too, but he also HATES parties/crowds unless he knows a lot of the people pretty well. Hope Maya takes after Andrew. :goodvibes I'm happy that Izzy seems like she's got a good mix so far - she's happy playing alone, but also seems comfortable in a crowd - especially if she is the center of attention. :scared:

Last night I got to sleep 8:30-5:30 without waking up once. AMAZING!!!!! Really makes you appreciate sleep when you go 5 nights in a row with very interrupted sleep haha. Maya was super happy last night and this morning too! Must have been something in the Texas air.
That's an amazing night of sleep for sure! Glad you got that and hope Maya's continued to do well since you've been back. :goodvibes

May 15, 2015 - Lynda's birthday!!
Happy Birthday (today!) to Lynda! :cake: :bday: Hope she had a great one.

I'll be back - I just had to post that much while it was still officially Lynda's birthday. :rotfl: (well, at least in the Central Time Zone, haha)

She spent a semester in Italy during college
Wow, that would be awesome - wish I could have done that.

We also planned on meeting up with @Dugette today!!
:cool1:

Aria would probably choose the multicolored crazy one, but I feel like that is more for older girls so I wanted her to have the princess one.
Smart thinking! I can see Izzy making the same choice. But I think BBB is a long way off - the idea of someone messing with her hair would not sit well with her these days. Looks like Aria was cooperative, though. :thumbsup2

Aria had a little meltdown because the photographer told her to smile pretty and she didn't know how to smile "pretty" apparently.
:rotfl2: I love the random reasons for their meltdowns.

I'm impressed that she was willing to do the poses!

She was at that in between age where she was still supposed to be playing in the toddler area, but wanted to be in the big kids one!
What is the big kid age? Just realized I don't know.

As always, we had a ball. I'll never think of 7DMT the same again after the early morning magic and riding 8 times!
I'm sure! I don't think I've ridden it TOTAL as many times as you did in that morning. :faint:

Great photo! Really captures how much fun she was having!

Another great photo!

And we had our little toddler reunion!! <3
:lovestruc

I am SO sad that Duffy doesn't meet at WDW (or DL) anymore. Aria is too :( She asked to meet him on our recent trip and I reminded her that he had left (for Japan as he is still wildly popular there).
He was on the schedule during our last Aulani trip, so we made sure to meet him there! I hope he at least stays there (lots of Japanese tourists).

I just love this picture. They both look so happy.

At the ride, there was a slight line. Aria & izzy held hands the whole time though. They were just too cute
Plus, Aria was singing "Donald's boat ride..." over and over and Izzy was cackling away at it every time. :goodvibes

Aria whispered to me that she wanted to sit next to izzy <3
Aw, that's sweet, I didn't realize that.

I don't remember where Dugette & Izzy were headed after that though, as we went opposite ways
I think that Dug sent a text photo that made us think he was headed over, so we went to meet him at the IG, but then found out he stopped for a nap at the resort, so I think we killed some time in FW. Of course, that's without checking my TR, but I think that's what happened. :rotfl:

Love all the pics of you two sharing drinks. Somehow I suspect that after 2015, I won't be seeing more of these until Aria's 21. :rotfl:

I did not take photos pf all the food, but my main dish was the pesto pasta with freshly made mozz. OMG. Such a simple dish with fresh ingredients but SO SO good! Reminded me of our time in Italy where the dishes weren't complicated but still just so good due to the fantastic ingredients.

10298772_10100328587989181_4404429191660600710_n.jpg
That does look really good! Yum!

I don't remember ever using the living room to relax and watch TV Lol!
Yeah, we never did on our joint trip either. In general, on Disney trips, we intend to use balconies, etc. and never seem to have the energy. :faint:

Since they did remove the photographers for a short while, and they were back for our trip, maybe they decided to scratch those plans? I agree, they really should stay (including the little photoshoot for afterwards).

She was very serious!

Yeah I wasn't a huge duffy fan either until Aria got into him. Daisy is there now - we met her a couple weeks ago there. And yes pretty silly to have another place to meet her, they should really bring duffy back :-D

Thanks, I changed it out as I wrote gusto but it was really italia lol!

Thank you!! And congrats to you too. 2 will be so much fun (and she is still free!!) sounds like a good plan!

OHH I think you mentioned that before - now I really REALLY have to go to Aulani lol!

I'm not sure what the dumbo big kid age was? 5 or 6 maybe but aria still went up there and had fun.

Funny, I *may* have mentioned to Aria that we should take a Disney visit for her 21st birthday. I'll be really lucky if she still wants to go with me when she turns 21 lol.

Our next day of the trip was actually our last day with Lynda & Aron as they were leaving the following morning. We went to Universal again (2nd day out of the 3 day ticket) and then went to T-Rex for dinner, meeting up with @Dugette and family!

This morning we started out at Universal Studios first (as opposed to IoA) and again grabbed some breakfast on the go at Starbucks on City Walk.

The first ride I wanted to go on was Minions 3D, which Aria and I had to ride stationary because of her height (but it's nice they allow you to be in the stationary seats!). This ride line gets crazy long so we all headed there first.

1908144_10100328588997161_8763380641612145703_n.jpg

Aria didn't absolutely love it haha, but oh well. It is tough on my stomach actually (all these 3d rides are). From there L&A headed off to do Transformers and Rip Ride Rockit (honestly just making that up I have no idea what they rode lol) and Aria and I headed over to Fievel's play area because we had had so much fun there last time! Only it was not yet open! Apparently this area opens later than the rest of the park, which was annoying since we planned to hop over to IoA later. So we kept on walking and hopped on the Simpson's Dumbo ride which is fine.

11400972_10100328589027101_3822153444346384666_n.jpg

I snapped a pic of Aria before telling her to get down...:-D

11390069_10100328589072011_6817460441823252553_n.jpg

We had a nice ride, but with nothing (YES literally nothing) else she/we could ride in the park, we headed to Diagon Alley. there was a very short wait to take a photo in front of the Knight bus so we did that

11401039_10100328589121911_7421984272484354471_n.jpg

Then we found the other photo op with Hagrid's flying bike

11329808_10100328589171811_3929852531364131512_n.jpg

And...we ended up having ice cream as our pseudo breakfast! Can't go wrong with that! We also met back up with L&A as they were getting a bit uneasy with all the 3d stuff too

11351133_10100328589221711_223189796808025021_n.jpg

11350628_10100328589296561_7941660989543660026_n.jpg

Once the ice cream was done (IDK why I got Aria her own cone) we decided to head to IoA via the Hogwarts Express

11350512_10100328589301551_651617074663507320_n.jpg

It was still pretty early (10:30 Maybe) so there was no line for Flight of the Hippogriph, so Lynda & Aron took Aria for two rounds on it!

She looks scared but she really loves it!

11392896_10100328589356441_5471295489329991616_n.jpg

And Lynda wasn't up for any more rides at that point (thank you being in our 30's haha) so we checked out some shops. She told Aria to pick something out and she ended up buying her a purple frog lol!
11393022_10100328589371411_3631817890927533099_n.jpg

And from there since it's a favorite, we went to the Pteranodon Flyers!

11329818_10100328589441271_9071463493351527868_n.jpg

We had lots of time to kill so we enjoyed the ropes area by the flyers ride

11350404_10100328589506141_5434070837784779076_n.jpg

There was also a small splash area

11377209_10100328589605941_2692392201459332431_n.jpg

And slides

11403265_10100328589700751_1057958435636735270_n.jpg

The only other area where we could ride things was the Seuss one, so we headed there next. Nothing had a line, but Aria chose the Seuss carousel first

We also went on Cat in the hat and the One fish two fish ride, and then we were done with the parks. We left by 12:30 or so and let Aria nap in the car while we went to Downtown Disney (ahem, Disney springs...).

Wow, I missed a lot of updates while I was away!

Too bad that Aria got sick again while wearing that same dress! I’m glad she was better by the next day.

I agree that the Poly lobby was better before. It looks nice now, but it’s not the same. I miss the water feature.

I’ve never been to the water parks, but your report is making me want to go! That looks like a lot of fun, and I know that Rory would love it! The patio looks like a great little splurge.

The pirate fireworks cruise looks fun. Maybe someday if my kids outgrow their food allergies we can do that (I think it would be hard for them to see all that food and not be able to eat any of it!).

If Lola ever wants to do the BBB I will be requesting the same hairstyle you got for Aria. It looks a lot cuter than most of the others I’ve seen. Aria looked adorable and those pictures with her posing are too cute!

I love the Duffy dress – so cute! And how fun that Aria and Izzy get along so well!

That is nice that they have stationary seats. I think Izzy would love a Minions attraction (she loves them!), but not sure what she'd think of the 3D.

Cute photo! I should show Izzy - she's obsessed with motorcycles and would love it!

And...we ended up having ice cream as our pseudo breakfast! Can't go wrong with that!
Sounds great to me! :thumbsup2

She looks scared but she really loves it!

11392896_10100328589356441_5471295489329991616_n.jpg
Haha, she does look really scared in that pic! :scared:

Sorry there wasn't more that you could do there, but looks like you made the best of it and had a fun morning.

Sorry I had to run to pick up the girls from daycare! :) Moving on to that evening!

So we headed straight to Downtown Disney, where I transferred a sleeping Aria to the stroller so she could continue her nap, and we did some shopping. We had to park quite a ways away due to construction, and it was HOT - so we were very happy to get in some AC in the shops!

I tried on a pretty funny sweatshirt

11390255_10100328590015121_3298633708465792490_n.jpg

And also visited Basin for my refill of bath bombs! Now Aria likes to pick them out with me, but at this point I did that myself.

Soon Aria woke up and we took a quick pic with the Frozen mural by the Christmas shop

11329937_10100328590060031_7542750924924927880_n.jpg

I was feeling very awkward with Aria in a Hogwarts dress at Disney lol so we went in search of some bathrooms ;)

But on the way Aria requested more photos and I obliged

1908089_10100328590139871_1760625571364406659_n.jpg

And then she got an outfit change and we continued shopping. We visited Once Upon a Toy briefly but ended up at the World of Disney. Aria found some Sofia jewelry

11163768_10100328590184781_1719114357773164587_n.jpg

And Jake & Izzy

11247969_10100328590194761_8477608850479037188_n.jpg

She had Disney gift cards to use so I let her walk around the store figuring out what to buy and she ended up with these and one of the little princess play sets.

We also checked out the Lego store, where Lynda was happy to build with Aria. I think I sat in the stroller at this point as I was really tired!

11351234_10100328590224701_510491557481898323_n.jpg

At this point it was about 4:15 and we were pretty hungry (no lunch today!) and tired so we meandered to T-Rex and found a shady spot to relax. I texted @Dugette to mention we were there in case they were also early (LOL, I really should have known better...teehee) but I think they were JUST leaving lunch at Sanaa?! IDK how they went from lunch straight to dinner lol. Anyway so we killed some time by letting Aria open her new play set and play.

11393075_10100328588817521_6321525469264490196_n.jpg

11393147_10100328588822511_1230842111416406324_n.jpg

And soon enough Dugette and family arrived and we headed over to check in for T-Rex.

Aria and Izzy were so excited to see each other again! This was while we were standing in line waiting for our table

11330015_10100328590284581_7984722272952746653_n.jpg

This was also my first time meeting Dug, despite having gone on a trip with his wife and daughter lol (actually, I guess Dugette hasn't even met Andrew...).

Soon we were led to a large table near the back next to the triceratops mom and baby

11393045_10100328590269611_1896670305745989092_n.jpg

My side of the table was me, Aria, Izzy and Dugette, and across from us was Lynda, Aron and Dug.

I lived vicariously through Lynda and Dugette with their cotton candy martinis

10629883_10100328590399351_3026083237546591102_n.jpg

11329945_10100328590449251_4567539667029407135_n.jpg

My other must have at T-rex is the fried cheese - the cheese sticks are pretty typical but the other melted mozz has a little spice to it and is just delicious! I gobbled my plate up before taking a photo (I was starving!) so this is a pic of Aron's plate - he and Lynda shared it. We also ordered mini corn dogs for the girls as they wanted the same thing.

For my main dish I had a fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. I don't think it was really good or bad, but was fine.

11392788_10100328590494161_8789377250618351320_n.jpg

During dinner Izzy pulled her bathroom antics a few times and I felt bad for Dugette having to keep getting up to take her to the potty. Aria was very confused too lol

We got some photos with the Triceratops nearby

11393172_10100328590519111_1444383608354303464_n.jpg

As Dugette mentioned in her TR, this was a photo spot so lots of kids kept coming up while we were eating.

11329990_10100328590524101_7278686569230976681_n.jpg

I don't think we opted for dessert? Dugette had a gift card so they just ordered enough food for that to cover (remember they had just come from Sanaa lol) and the rest of us filled up on cheese and other food. I think it was all pretty good and overall I like T-Rex way better than Rainforest!

After dinner we went separate ways, I think they were doing some shopping, and we wanted to check out Disney Quest!

Since our tickets also included Disney Quest, we wanted to check that out. L&A had never been, and my last time was with Andrew in like 2010 maybe? IDK. We always seem to have a good time there though. I had done some research into what things Aria couldn't do, and for the most part she could do a lot. We aren't gamers, so we skipped any arcade playing and opted for the DQ things. First up was the Aladdin virtual reality game

11401461_10100328590569011_8840747382848076338_n.jpg

The 4 of us were a team. As I mentioned before, we aren't gamers so Aria wasn't the only one who couldn't figure this game out... :rolleyes1 haha but we had fun

11329786_10100328590608931_2592320930522744003_n.jpg

There was a short line for the Pirates game but we hopped in it and soon were led to our "ship" - basically it's a VR room with a simulated ship. One person is the captain and the others shoot down adversary ships. Aria first wanted to be the captain but mid game switched to shooting.

11391177_10100328590618911_261903844801284801_n.jpg

I had to leave my stuff outside so no pics

11329885_10100328590638871_8654923841321006799_n.jpg

And then we went for the Jungle Cruise where we all had to paddle!

10425379_10100328590713721_1238111971806453889_n.jpg

11147011_10100328590673801_205173430361799994_n.jpg

It was really nice being in a group of 4, because Aria and I wouldn't have been able to do as much just the two of us! PLus it was really fun with Lynda & Aron. Aria really enjoyed this one trying to paddle.

Next we decided to catch the next animation class, which turned out to be drawing goofy. Aria was getting a bit discouraged at this (remember she is 3...) and her pic wasn't really coming out like Goofy but I urged her on to just make it however she wanted.

11107178_10100328590738671_4676986043750202071_n.jpg

I was proud of her for trying to follow the directions.

This was my Goofy. I was pretty proud of him :)

Aria's final goofy. Look how she did some whiskers, ears and even tried to give him a hat

Lynda's goofy

And Aron's

Unlike the old animation academy at DHS (RIP :( ) since these were electronic, we did not get to take them home (I believe they will sell you a print out though...:rotfl2: )

We did some more artwork afterwards

And then I wanted Lynda & Aron to go do my favorite ride which was the Buzz Lightyear astro blasters! Being preggo, I didn't want to ride, and Aria was too short so we watched. Basically one person drives the car around trying to drive over balls and suck them up in the car, and hit other cars, while the other one shoots balls at other cars. When you're shot, your car spins around a couple times and you lose control. Andrew and I were cracking up the last time we did this and had a blast. ;) Unfortunately 1 minute in to the game, it broke down and everyone had to get out. What was weird was the CM made them all leave and get back in line to try again?! The line was actually pretty long for this and while I encouraged them to try again they decided not to.

I guess we were all getting pretty tired at this point so we called it a night. Plus we all still had to pack as we were checking out the next day!

And also visited Basin for my refill of bath bombs! Now Aria likes to pick them out with me, but at this point I did that myself.
Weird question on these - do they keep for a long time? I have one from a trip several years ago and never opened or used it...

Soon Aria woke up and we took a quick pic with the Frozen mural by the Christmas shop

Frozen Fever! Izzy just discovered that short recently and is obsessed! Gotta love all the baby Olafs. :rotfl:

I was feeling very awkward with Aria in a Hogwarts dress at Disney lol so we went in search of some bathrooms ;)
:rotfl2: Good point. People were probably wondering if you were one of those people that thought Harry Potter World was part of WDW. :crazy2:

I think I sat in the stroller at this point as I was really tired!
Surprised there's not a picture of that! (Though, I guess I can see the footrest of the stroller at the bottom of that pic?)

So funny to hear how different your lead-in to that meal was. Yeah, we had a late lunch and you guys skipped lunch - I guess, as a group, we broke even. :rotfl: And, yeah, we were not very hungry for dinner yet - we had a small gap of resting at AKL and browsing a couple shops, but it wasn't enough to work up a major appetite.

Love this one - super cute! :lovestruc Glad you got some pics, as I was apparently too busy chatting with Lynda to think of it.

This was also my first time meeting Dug, despite having gone on a trip with his wife and daughter lol (actually, I guess Dugette hasn't even met Andrew...).
I suspect me meeting Andrew is less likely, given his less-frequent WDW visits. :scratchin

I lived vicariously through Lynda and Dugette with their cotton candy martinis
Thanks for the recommendation! :thumbsup2

My other must have at T-rex is the fried cheese - the cheese sticks are pretty typical but the other melted mozz has a little spice to it and is just delicious!
That's what Dug and I had for our "dinner" - just shared the cheese platter. ::yes:: It was just perfect.

During dinner Izzy pulled her bathroom antics a few times and I felt bad for Dugette having to keep getting up to take her to the potty. Aria was very confused too lol
Haha, I suppose Aria was baffled. :confused3 Guess I should have asked her to teach Izzy all her secrets.

I think it was all pretty good and overall I like T-Rex way better than Rainforest!
We really enjoyed it - and the company made it great! :goodvibes

We've never been there, but the types of things you guys did sound fun.

This was my Goofy. I was pretty proud of him :)

Yeah, you should be proud - great job! :goofy:

For a 3-year-old, that's great. The fact that she tried to follow instructions at all is more than Izzy would have done, I'm sure.

That's kind of a bummer that they didn't have the Fival play are open when there isn't much else for Aria to do in the park at that time

definitely seems like you all got to everything you wanted to in the time you spent at Universal so that is good

I chuckled a bit about your concern of Aria in the HP dress at Disney Springs, though I am sure I would have had the same thought process

to bad about the heat though - but I guess relaxing and letting Aria play with her new toys

reading Duggette's TR at the same time as yours I also chuckled when you discussed calling Duggette to mention you were at T-Rex early ;)

Nice that the girls got some more time together though

We still have never eaten at T-Rex ... the loudness of it and the giant T-Rex at the beginning scare my kids, plus, I always found the food at Rain Forest Cafe to be mediocre and over priced so I never push for it, but good to know you find the food much better than at Rain Forest so maybe when they are a little older

Good think you got to Disney Quest - read a rumor last night that it is closing in August

I think Aria did great with Goofy! I can definitely make out the ears and stuff too!

That astro blasters game looks pretty fun, but too bad it broke down and they didn't let the people just get right back on it once it was working again

Weird question on these - do they keep for a long time? I have one from a trip several years ago and never opened or used it...

I don't see why not? MIght as well try it! LOL I buy them about 1 time per year (sometimes more often) so I think they'd keep just fine.

Frozen Fever! Izzy just discovered that short recently and is obsessed! Gotta love all the baby Olafs. :rotfl:

Did you buy it somewhere? We've only seen the short once during the previews to some movie (I forget which one, maybe that new Cinderella movie?)

:rotfl2: Good point. People were probably wondering if you were one of those people that thought Harry Potter World was part of WDW. :crazy2:

LOL I have had to correct countless people on that front - so yes, definitely did not want to be thought of as one of "those" people lol!

Oh I forgot about your rest (really should have spent a minute looking back at your tr lol)

Oh that's right...

Haha, I suppose Aria was baffled. :confused3 Guess I should have asked her to teach Izzy all her secrets.

Well it had been a long time since Aria was potty training, so she just didn't understand what Izzy was going through.

For a 3-year-old, that's great. The fact that she tried to follow instructions at all is more than Izzy would have done, I'm sure.

I was pretty impressed with her, and it made me want to check out the DHS Animation academy with her. :( I'm unsure whether that will be coming back?

Yeah and we still had another full day "planned" for Universal... :scratchin

I wouldn't say the food is amazing, but there are some good things about it and yes I do think it's better than RFC (although managed by the same people so I guess they are pretty on par). We had SUCH a great experience at the Boathouse though and there are so many options at DS now that it'll probably be a while before we return.

Good think you got to Disney Quest - read a rumor last night that it is closing in August

Boo I was hoping they decided to scrap those plans for that NBA thing they mentioned?!

My understanding is that they have scrapped the NBA plans but still plan to close Disney Quest at the end of August with not specific plan for what will replace it. still a rumor at this point though

I wish they'd just bring it up to date! It's such a neat place to spend some time.

It's on Netflix at the end of a Disney shorts compilation.

Ah boo, I have Hulu not Netflix. I'll look into it, thanks!

Just saw this comment as well and wanted to let you know that Frozen Fever definitely was shown before Cinderella and is on the DVD/Blu-Ray for Cinderella and also on that Disney shorts collection "Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection" - which is a great collection and includes a lot of the recent shorts such as Tangled Ever After, Paperman, Get a Horse, and Feast - along with Frozen Fever

Yeah, it must have been then! I haven't bought the Cinderella movie but should add it to my wishlist :) The short films looks great, too, thanks!
