I hae to say, I was really excited to log in this morning and see an update from you, Queen! :goodvibes I love reading your TRs.

FoW does sound really interesting, and that eagle was gorgeous. It's something I've been meaning to see.

I can't believe KS had that long of a wait, maybe the rinos were being stubborn even while you waited for a vehicle. :rotfl:

Glad your lunch was yummy and escaping the heat for a bit is always a wonderful thing.

(If the rumors are true about FoTLK, I think I'll spend a day in mourning. How can they take away the best show in WDW?:sad1:)

Sounds like a fun morning at the AK but a 2 hour wait?! :confused3

I've heard the rumors about FOTLK ending too. I guess because of Avatar Land coming? So I'm making sure we catch it next week just in case it really does end. :worried:

I love Shan's Toms! So cute! I'm sure Caitlin will need to buy another pair during our trip too :)

I love Yak and Yeti, your lunch looks delicious.

I have yet to do Flight of Wonder, I guess I'll have to start planning another trip just so I can experience this. :scratchin

Great update! I've always enjoyed FoW show, and I'm chuckling just a little at the thought of you and Shanleigh tricking Jeff into the show next visit!

Had Yak 'n' Yeti counter service, but never the table service restaurant. Looks yummy!

It's hard not to sing aloud during FOTLK!

Hahahahaha I need one of these!

I, too, was thrilled to see an update. Sorry things have been so crazy busy. Sometimes that happens!

Loved the update. What a great morning in AK. You got some lovely pictures. I can't believe your wait for the Safari was almost 2 hours. That is CRAZY! So glad you met a nice couple to talk with and pass the time.

I am so glad you liked Flights of Wonder. That show would probably be too much for Jeff. He would be flipping out. If he ever wanted to do an immersion (or whatever its called) to get over his bird phobia, that would be the place.

Yum - the shrimp lo mien looks super yummy!

Hi Queen! I too have been neglectful! Being back into the swing of things at work after 2 months off is always tough. But........I HAVE A TICKER!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 My husband and I are doing Disney for the first time without kids and are expecting a much different vacation at the world. We will be dining at Yak and Yeti which we love and for the first time - Kona and Ohana! Cannot wait. that on top of Food and Wine.....
So a quick question for you. When we were there last there was talk of strictly enforcing the return times on the fastpasses to the times that are on the ticket. Is that happening now? That will determine some of our park time I am thinking.
This trip is very much needed as we had no away time this summer, our Bombers are bombing and my beloved Jets are sidelined :crazy2: along with the rest of the NHL. But we have our Goldeyes to rep the city thank goodness.

Yay for the Goldeyes!! Bringing the Win back to "Winner"peg.....we had the chance to see a few games this summer and they played great ball! Sadly I think it will be a long winter with no NHL.....sigh
And FYI yes they are enforcing the FastPass times now.....it's all in prep for Disney's new FastPass system.

We'll mourn together....there will be some serious crying in our house!

I was trying so hard not to be irritated but it didn't work! I felt like we wasted our whole morning there!

Please think of me when you're there, I'll be with you in spirit!

Aren't they adorable! She does not regret her decision to buy two pairs...not that we ever thought she would right? I can't wait to see Caitlin's!

Me too! It has become one of our favourites and I really can't emphasize enough how great Khan was....exceptional!

Isn't it great how there is always a reason to go back!

Hee Hee, we're a wee bit on the evil side....and I will defnitely capture that experience on video so I can share it with all of you!

It was so yummy! It will be on our list for next trip!

Glad I'm not the only one that sings there;)

WHAT???? Oh my goodness, I am having heart palpitations...you must see it next trip! I think you would love it!

I felt so bad that you've been waiting to see them! Glad you love them!

Hey girl! So...what are we gonna do about this lock out??
You're right....but we're gonna torture him anyways! My nieces can't wait!

Hey there friend! I can't even speak of the Bombers right now, still crying over the lock out and the GOLDEYES ROCK!!!!

How exciting for you...please tell me there will be a TR when you return!

I see Geodoc answered this and yes I can confirm they follow those times to a T!!!

Let me guess...a post at 1:00am...you must have been on evenings???

That's okay. I can't believe I've fallen so far behind in reading them! I have (after this one) four more chapters on three other TRs I have to get to. But I'm getting to this one first!

Do you remember when it didn't matter if she had other plans or not... cause she wasn't old enough to make her own decisions?

Hmmmm..... does that mean you never did? Hopefully it's because you were having too much fun! :)

But you could pick a plan and not be usurped!

Or is that 'dethroned'... perish the thought!

Ah yes... Disney vacations.... you know, the kind where you come back exhausted! :lmao:

I like the bicycle tires on it.

    Is that EE or Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Wow! 2 hours! I better be able to pet a lion for that kind of wait.

On second thought, maybe not a lion.... I'm not ready to be called 'lefty', yet.

OMG! I don't believe it! Something we had done that you hadn't! That's a first! It is a good show, isn't it?

Right. The bird. Uh huh. Sure.

    :lmao: Please, please take videos!

ps... do not let him hold a fly swatter.

That picture is amazing. It looks sooooo good. Yummm.... shrimp. I would order that for DW and myself... of course she's allergic so I'd have to eat it all by myself.... but it's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make... for her... of course.

    Really???? That's nuts!

You still haven't told her that that's why we have kids in the first place?
"My parents embarrassed me when I was young... now it's your turn."

    Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Hi! Great update :thumbsup2 Glad things are well and that your time away was just due to life being busy...I can so relate!

That's too bad that the wait was so long for the safari, but glad that you enjoyed FoW (we haven't seen it yet but it looks interesting) and lunch. We enjoyed Y&Y counter service so I'm sure the sit down restaurant is amazing!

Love the Lion King show :cloud9: I am very much hoping that they simply move it somewhere else in the park when Avatar land comes...the thought of it going away completely is just not good.

Glad to hear Shan is off to a good start at school!

Yay update! Real life just gets in the way sometimes, doesn't it? I'm glad Shan is doing well at University, but I figured she's a smarty pants. She has that look about her. Must take after her mother. ;)

Growing up in Disney is the best way. It's great to have such memories to look back on and pictures to document it all. Our Disney trips have been some of our best times and we have so many stories that we talk about all the time. I can understand why you would get misty.

Wow, 2 hours for KS? That's crazy!

I would pay money to see Jeff get all crazy watching Flights of Wonder. Like, really really pay money. :scratchin

Thanks for still reading along even tho I've been very neglectful!

Thank you so much! The only problem I see is the lack of Disney Vacations now....and that makes me so sad! Maybe I'll just have to tag along with my sister and her family next time they go!

You are so funny! If we did have that awful four letter word happen, we did not see it! I saw on the weather network that Kenora had some snow falling. We had horrid winds here tho ... I was keeping my fingers crosses that the big tree we have in our backyard was still going to be standing when I got home from work and it was!

Perfect, I'll let you know when the next trip is :rotfl2:

Another week has passed and I do recall saying something about things slowing down...I lied! It was one of those weeks and yesterday was spent with Shanleigh at the hair salon, then the grocery store, then home to laundry, dusting vacuuming, then had my sister and her kiddies over (Geodoc was working evenings) and Shan went out to a makeup party! So much for a relaxing Saturday!

Anyhoodle, any day that I get to spend with my daughter and my sister and her family is a great day so I'm gonna stop complaining! I thought I should finish up our AK day so here goes!
After standing and sitting for 2 hours we decided we should stand and walk some more and Shanleigh was dying to do Pangani so off we went. I gladly gave the camera over to her as she was in a mood to take pictures. Forgive me, I can't for the life of me remember what this species is called and someone is still getting their beauty sleep so I can't ask her either!
Ok, this one is easy....see the turtle everyone:rotfl2:
Neither of us could get over the size of these frogs!
Shanleigh thought this bird was beautiful and I loved how the picture turned out with the fish!
Then it was off to see these magnificent creatures! We spent over an hour here, neither of us could get enough of them!
Shanleigh was concerned this one had passed away as she couldn't see the chest rising and falling but all was well, he was sleeping!
Look at that face.....isn't he something!
We then went to the other side where he came wandering down and was people watching, we thought this was so funny!
    Another one joining the party!
Then we saw Lily, she made her way up here and then fell out, she was too cute!
    Could she be any cuter
    [IMG]
She made her way over to the container and started playing it like a drum...at that point everyone came over to watch and I'm sure you all know what happened. People are so incredibly rude and think as long as I get my shot that's all that matters! We just waited it out ......
One of the females came over and decided it was time for a treat so off she went up the tree...Lily followed at first then decided to come back down.
Isn't this the cutest picture of her...waiting for her lunch we thought! After our fill of the gorillas we headed to the buses! It had clouded over so we decided no sense in heading back to the resort to the pool cause it looked like rain. Shanleigh thought we should take the bus to the Yacht and Beach Club and have our own little treat at Beaches and Cream so that's what we did!

We made it to the bus without the skies opening but by the time we were almost at the Yacht Club it was pouring! We got off the bus there and thought we would just enjoy the lobby until the rain subsided! Then it was off to one of our favourite little places on property!

I was surprised the place wasn't packed but it worked well for us! We were going to spllit something until Shanleigh decided she just had to have a peanut butter sundae, not the No Way Jose, she thought that would be too big for her to eat on her own!
I decided on the Milky Way Sundae and really didn't care if I could finish it or not, I love that sundae and it didn't disappoint! It hardly looked like I put a dent in in at the end but I enjoyed what I had!
Shanleigh's peanut butter sundae....we had to sit with one seat between us, then she was to hand sanitize and not come near me until she does!

We had such a great day and now the sun was starting to peak out again so we headed to the boat! We decided we would just take it to HS and then the bus from there!

Those pictures of the gorillas are great. They were so active the day you visited them, and Lily is just too cute! We have a baby gorilla at our local zoo, and I catch myself spending all morning just watching him play and explore. :goodvibes

Good decision on heading to the Yacht Club. Can't go wrong with Beach and Cream, and you ordered my favorite! The Milky Way...it's nearly impossible to finish by yourself, but it's a lot of fun to try. :rotfl:

Hey girl! I'm on my way back and getting all caught up!
I'm on my phone so I can't see the pictures really well, I'll come back for those later!
Sounds like a great ak day, how sweet that lily came out to perform for you! I didn't get to see her :(

Okay, just let Shan know that we all have unfortunate looking years. I will find a picture of myself and scan it in for you guys just to prove that. She can have a good laugh. Now, mind you this is back in the early 90's when plastic glasses were all the rage.....:crazy2:

Shan went to a makeup party? How do I not know about these things?!

Dude, those frogs are HUGE! French chefs would love those......

Beaches and Cream. Not eating a No Way Jose?! That's a travesty. Although the peanut butter sundae does look pretty good.
