Is the Fantasy worth the higher price?

    Just wondering everyone's opinions.
We have sailed on the Wonder a couple of times, but I'm really wanting to sail in the Fantasy now. But of course it's more expensive, and their only ship that doesn't seem to have any special offers.

Would you pay more to be on the Fantasy? or just stick with Magic/Wonder for 7-night cruises?

Depending on the time of the year, for a 7n, the Fantasy might be the only option. It is the newest ship and many are attracted to some of the unique features of it - Acuaduck, Animator's Palate, Midship detective, etc...

But many have sailed on the Dream B2B and found it's actually cheaper than the same week at the Fantasy.

I love the Fantasy! The showers are amazing, the rooms are more efficiently organized, the auqaduck is great as well as the water splash area and the Animator's Palette is terrific. That being said, if there were an itinerary I wanted on the Magic - I would go there as well.

We have sailed on all 4, and prefer the Magic and Wonder, so for us I would not pay more to cruise on the Fantasy, and have actually cancelled next March's cruise on the Fantasy as I cannot justify the price.

The Fantasy is beautiful and the Aquaduck was great, so I am glad we have been on all 4 ships, but as of now I have no desire to go again. New ports are more important to us these days.

We are struggling with the same issue. We want to sail a 7-day next summer. Looks like the Fantasy is the only option. Well, the Wonder might be, but I haven't looked too closely at those itineraries as I really don't want to go on the Wonder until after dry-dock. The Fantasy seems to be selling well for next summer, so there must be plenty of people who aren't as phased by the price. However, I'm with you :(

The Aquaduck and Satellite Falls make the Fantasy #1 in my book.

we sailed the Fantasy last August on our 4th cruise after taking all the rest of the ships...we are going again this August:

    1) we decide our cruise by cruise itinerary, not ship...

    2) i was not overwhelmed by the Fantasy...the aquaduck is nice i also liked the aqualab but the pools are slightly smaller and there was no "wow" factor for me after all that was written...

I really did enjoy cruising on the Fantasy and I paid premium prices to be on the maiden voyage. I enjoyed the larger pool area for the adults, Aqua duck, bars and interactive games on board the ship just a name a few of my favorite things. Nevertheless, I do believe it's worth it and you should at least try it once. I look forward to the next time I am on the Fantasy.

I have been on all 4 ships, I do not think the price is justified. I would justify your price on itinerary/flights and dates.

We were a little shocked at the price, but we want to do the Fantasy and we are cruising with friends.

We loved all four ships for different reasons. If they could add a satellite falls, concierge lounge, and a skyline lounge on the magic and wonder they would be better for us. We loved the above three features on the fantasy but generally stayed in the adult area and avoided the middle. After day one when you figure out how to avoid the crowds it is a beautiful ship. Even though we are sailing her again next year I can't really give you a good reason not to sail on the magic and wonder instead because we loved them too. The 16 days on the wonder Hawaii trip were the best time we have had on a cruise, it was awesome.

I too have sailed all 4 ships; I rank them:

    1)Magic
    2)Fantasy
    3)Wonder
    4)Dream (and she's a distant 4)

I, who am against taking kids out of school, am taking my daughter out of school the next 2 Octobers. We wanted to sail the Fantasy Aug 2014 Western w/Jamaica, but I *REFUSE* to pay over $2500 MORE for the same stateroom that we have had on our last 3 week-long Fantasy cruises!!! I'm already paying $1000 more for the same week in March 2014 in the same room we just had in March 2013. I refuse to keep paying more. Instead, we're taking a southern on the Magic (which I am more excited about anyways!).

So, from someone who has taken 3 cruises on the Fantasy in fabulous 5E cabins, no, I will not pay exorbitantly more.

I thought the Dream and Fantasy were basically identical ships, with the exception of Satellite Falls. Why did you dislike it so much?

I haven't sailed the Fantasy yet, but I can't wait!! We've done the Magic and she was gorgeous. But the Fantasy looks amazing with all she has to offer. But I get a bit nervous when I read that people kind of get lost in the shuffle on the bigger ships and don't get as much personal service like on the smaller ones. I am hoping I don't find that true :) We are bringing friends with us this time and have done nothing but raved about the service we received on our last DCL trip.

Very rushed feeling, different clientele (people act different on short cruises when they are trying to jam it all in vs. relaxing on a 7-night), and the crew isn't as engaging because the turn over is so much more frequent. I did like the Waves area on the Dream that the Fantasy does not have, but Satellite Falls, the Aqua Lab and deck 12 wading pool additions help lessen the crowds some.

Thanks. Confirms why I'd love to go on the Fantasy. I enjoyed the Dream, but definitely did not get to relax as much as I had hoped to. And the Southern Caribbean itineraries on the Magic sound like they'd be wonderful too!

The piece I miss from the Dream on the Fantasy is that heated nook off of skyline. We enjoyed sitting down there at night. Rarely was anyone else there, which might be why it didn't make the cut on the fantasy. Not sure how it was heated but it is a meat spot.
