My husband and I are going on a cruise for our 10th anniversary next year. We are both Disney junkies. Can you give me your advice on doing Disney with no kids? Or should I do a different cruise line? I just don't know if it is themed more for families or is it okay for adults only?

Yes it is great for adults only, we are DINKS and have been on several Disney cruises, and have had a great time each and every time.

I've done Disney with my family twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. I believe that I would enjoy it without children as well. I met other couples-young and not so young and they were travelling without children and loved the cruise. Hope this helps. :wave2:

Yep, great for adults...You will be bypassing the kiddie-oriented bottlenecks and enjoying the adult-oriented activities, which are more civilized and restful. The excursions, without kids will be exciting and fun...

You will be able to enjoy the fantastic level of service accorded to you by the CMs without having to share it all with anyone who won't appreciate it as a treat, rather than as an entitlement.

Not only did my husband and I go on DCL without kids, we're taking my parents this summer. It is awesome without kids. We loved it, and it was always fun. We're Disney nuts, too, and everything about it was great.

Actually, my friend has been on just about every cruise line (he has no kids), and he will only go on DCL anymore. He said that DCL is the best, and they have so many programs for kids and so many programs/areas for adults that you are never around kids if you don't want to be. He said that on other cruises, they don't have the kids programs, so they're all over the place. Hope this helps.

We have only done DCL as adults-we have never brought little kids but our grown children have come-we have no grandkids yet. I am the Disney junkie and my husband tolerates my addiction. I think he has come to favor DCL over other cruise lines and we have done Carnival, NCL and RCCL. You can avoid the kids by using the adult areas of the ship. I would highly recommend DCL if you are Disney junkies-you will love it.

Another set of DINKS here and we love DCL! We have two planned for this year!

I really love the adult areas that DCL provides and they keep them for adults only. Of course being Disney they also focus on the child in us.

We're doing our second Disney cruise--but our first without kids. You have to be a Disney fan to go without kids, but I am so looking forward to it. There were just a few moments we had away from the little ones on the first cruise, but the adult areas were uncrowded. Also, adults without children can be a little less stressed. :goodvibes You can focus on each other instead of wrangling the young ones.

:goodvibes DH and I have gone on 3 DCL all 4 nights. We are in
our 60's and we just love it. There is a lot of Adult things to do
and you don't have to be with the kids if you don't want to.

You will really enjoy cruising with Disney as there is no smoking in
most places and the rooms are great. Plenty to keep you busy.

    P.S. What is a DINK? :confused3

    Yessir-y Bob!!

The cruise was awesome! We did lots of fun things, including the wine tasting, lounging on the Adults only beach at CC, a visit to Atlantis, the late dinner seating, a couples massage at the spa, dinner at Palo's, brunch at Palo's.

We loved it so much that we're doing a 7 day next January

Count DH and me in the group of DINK Disney Cruise enthusiasts!

We've taken two 7-night cruises with DCL and loved them both.

Here's a link to our trip report from October 2005 if you'd like to get an idea of what our experience was like (it's long...I like to write).

You will have a great time on DCL - go for it!!! :goodvibes

DCL does a very nice job with the adult areas of the ship and Castaway Cay. It is quite possible to enjoy the cruise without kids. I'd have to say, however, that unless you are big Disney fans there is often better value elsewhere especially in the area of food which to this adult was quite bland and tasteless. But, I still ate a lot of it!

There is SO much to do without kids....jusk ask the adults who bring kids and don't have that freedom!!! I have done 2 DCL without kids and Hubby and throughly enjoyed them. Only thing they don't have, if it is a must for you, is gambling. Enjoy!!

We were DINKs now we are SINKs, I am a SAH something or another :rotfl2: .

Anywhoo, we have done 2 DCL cruises and enjoyed them both very much. I am not a huge fan of kiddos (well, misbehaved ones, love the well behaved ones!) and I must say on both cruises we did not encounter one 'bad kid'.

As was already mentioned, so many areas are separate that you can easily escape the little critters if you want to. I enjoyed watching them have fun though. Yup, I would not not do a Disney cruise because of not having kids.
    Does that make sense?? :thumbsup2

I cruised with my 70 yo mother and no kids in December. We had a great time. We enjoyed the activities and shore excursions. When we were near or with children they were all very well behaved. Love no smoking and the activities.

We have gone on two DCL without kids and have loved it. We are huge Disney fans and just enjoy the atmosphere. If you need some adult time on the ship you can enjoy the adult pool area and at CC you can go to the adult beach. We also found attending matinee shows like Golden Mickey's is less busy kid wise...I think in the afternoon they must be at the pool or napping.

Since you are Disney junkies you will love DCL! DH and I are in our 50's and will be taking our ninth DCL cruise in May. DD came twice when she was a teen and the rest were by ourselves. We enjoy the cruise much more than the parks. It is so relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. And I absolutely love being treated like a queen for a week!
