Girl uses 22 year old ticket

I'm glad she had fun, but it's not that unusual. The CM who helped her must have been fairly new (maybe a CP?), because we see those on a semi-regular basis. Good that it worked out for her. :)

We used a remaining day on one a few years ago that was about 20 years old. Didn't seem like a big deal at the time...

Silly things people make articles about these days. As Ravenclaw said, they are somewhat rare, but hardly unseen and it doesn't require much of an act to honor the tickets - they are of course still valid.

We had some of the really old tickets that had the free meals on it. So old that the venues had since closed. They still let me use it at the new places. I was surprised. This was the 80s maybe? or early 90s.

That looked like fun.

We all have one day left on a non expiring ticket from about ten years ago. With the high cost of one day tickets, I am saving them in case we want to stop by for a single day. It may be 22 years before we get around to using them.

Now that's great planing! Who knows how much that one day ticket will be worth then! If it were me, I'd probably lose it before then!

I wonder how old some of the tickets on this forum really are. There's usually someone posting about how to make sure their old ticket doesn't get used yet or if they can use an old ticket..

very cool that they still had it.. /me goes to call my parents to see if they have any ticket surprised stored away in the basement.

That was the best ticket buy we have made. It was a ten day ticket. We added the water parks for about $45 per person. We do one water park visit and still have a few left. We paid for a single day at Disneyland and could hop between parks because our tickets had park hoppers. That saved us $250+ compared to buying single day tickets. (I believe this cannot be done anymore.)

I have a comp paper 1 day park hopper ticket from 1992 that I have held onto all these years-always go for multiple days at a time (live up north) so I just keep holding onto it-it is now in a shadow box frame with a picture of me and my mom at Epcot. Some day I will eventually use it lol

On a related note, what, if anything, can be done with the old A-B-C-D-E tickets? Would you get some nominal dollar amount for them towards another ticket?

That's awesome. I hope they let her keep the ticket!

I don't see why they wouldn't let her keep the ticket. The article doesn't mention specifically, but I'm guessing Guest Service gave her some other media to enter the park. In the old days, they always let you keep those fully used tickets as souvenirs. I probably still have mine from the early 90s.

Otherwise "To Chelsea's surprise, the Disney World staff told her the ticket was still valid!"

OMG!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Disney actually honors one of their long standing policies. A non-story if ever there was one. Just another "Look at ME!!" social media story.

That's a good question. I don't have any left from my WDW trip but I have some from a DL trip a few years before that. They are in my scrap book

True but they have been taking a CS beating on these boards lately. It's still nice to see a positive outcome, even if it was standard procedures

In searching, it seems like they will give you face value.
Or If you have a complete book, you might get a full day admission.
Chances are, a Disney collector may pay more for an unused A-E tickets then Disney will reimburse.

Wow! All 3 parks! I wonder if they'd let you into AK with that... :D (Sorry sir, the passport is only good for 3 parks, not 4 therefore you can't come into AK... the Moose should've told you out front!)

I think I read in the Unofficial Guide way back then that parkhoppers bought a certain amount of time before AK opened (maybe a year) would NOT be good for entry into AK. You'd have to pay a small upgrade fee.
