I’m just here for the food. The Disney food.

Introduction.

Hey Everyone !! We are back from another wonderful Disney vacation. We battled the crowds during Spring Break again this year and we had another fabulous trip. Here are the details.

Our trip was from April 3, 2015 to April 11, 2015.

Our first day, April 3 was a travel day. We stayed off site at Orange Lake resort the first two nights to burn up some points on another time share. One of those use it or lose it situations.

The remaining six nights were spent at Saratoga Springs Resort in a one bedroom villa..

The cast characters consists of myself and DH

My name is Susan and I design irrigation systems for a landscape architect.

His name is Jerry and he works in management at a chemical plant.

My DS

His name is Nathan and he is 15. He is full of dissent for Disney and it seemed like most days, he just came along for the food. Truthfully, he was kind of a buzz kill at times. But he’s a teenager. What are ya gonna do? I got some decent photos of him this trip though.

My DD

Her Name is Hannah and she is 12. Now this girl is a Disney freak, just like her momma. I did something right with this one at least. She is going through a "don't take photos of me" pahse, so I did the best I could.

I hope you all will stop by and say hello if you are reading along. I’m am looking forward to sharing our trip with you. To me, it is like our trip isn’t really over if I can write about it and share it with people. And for those of you following along based on the title and hoping for food porn, then you are in the right place. There will be food porn. Lots of food porn.

I'm planning our first trip to WDW next February, and am very overwhelmed by all the food options. I am eagerly awaiting your review! :mickeyjum

Sorry I didn't get an update up tonight. I have started a small sewing business in addition to my day job. It helps support my expensive Disney habit. LOL. So I was sewing the cute Disney stuffs. Will try and get an update done tomorrow :-)

Following! I'm always up for more Disney food reviews and trip reports :D And I'll be interested to hear about Saratoga Springs, I've never stayed there. Though, to be fair, I have only stayed at 2 Disney hotels so far :P

Yay!! Thanks for following!!

:welcome:Thanks for following along. We love Saratoga Springs !! But I can honestly say - there isn't a Disney resort I don't like.

Day 1 – Part one.

DH prefers to drive at night and our plan was to leave around 3 AM to avoid traffic. But our insurance would not allow us to get a prescription filled until April 3, so we chose to wait until the pharmacy opened and just get it then. I KNOW we probably could have just picked it up in Florida, but this was important, do not miss a dose, medication that we needed to have so we didn’t want to risk it. So we headed to Waffle House for breakfast around 7 AM with the plan that once we were done eating, we could just pick it up and hit the road.

Waffle House for the food porn folks.

I like the food there, but I call it Awful House because they always seem to be dirty.

The kids love it though, so it is a must do every time we leave town.

Anyway, we got done and called the pharmacy. And OR COURSE their computers were down. So we went back home to wait. Finally, we got it filled and left town about 9:30AM.

DH likes to drive at night. And we see why now. Traffic was TERRIBLE. Bumper to bumper. Stop and go. A trip that normally takes us 7 hours took more than 10. DH was not happy.

But, we got there and checked in. And that was all that was important for that day. We purchased points through RCI many moons ago and every now and then, we need to just use them up or we lose them. They come in handy sometimes and this resort is a very nice resort.

We stayed our first two nights at Orange Lake Resort off of 192. We like it there. It isn’t as great as Disney, but it is top notch. We checked in with little hassle and none of the hard sell we encountered last time we went.

Our room was awesome. Very nicely appointed and lots of room. It was a 2 bedroom villa, about 1300 SF, I think.

Here are some photos.

We dragged all of our stuff up and watched some basketball and settled in with some Mickey wine.

And here is the new journal I bought to write all of my Disney adventures in so I could remember it when we got back.

I'm so glad that this won't happen to us. Thankfully we were able to have the pharmacy set the rxn to fill a few days before the trip.

:rotfl:You too! Depending on how long Little MIss sleeps on the drive this might end up an option for us and while I know that DH would love this one I almost shudder at the idea.

I tried to get it filled early, so it wasn't like I wasn't prepared. But nope, the insurance was firm. Not until the 3rd. But is was a $900 medication that we only have to pay $25 for, so waiting was the most economical option to say the least

It is seriously so gross sometimes. But my family loves the food and I like it as well. But, I just want a shower when I leave the place. :crazy2:

Day 2 – Part 1 - see next post. I am still trying to figure out this new format
