Has anyone considered booking 'Play, Stay, and Dine' instead of the Military Discount? Which is the better deal in your opinion?

    Beach Club
    Standard view
    May 18th - 23rd
    booked 8.23.12

    then changed it

    Beach Club
    Deluxe room - Club level
    May 18th - 23rd
    changed on 11.11.12

then changed it (and I swear this is it :) )

    Boardwalk
    Deluxe room - Club level
    May 18th - 23rd
    changed on 11.15.12

I have no idea why I am having such a hard time making up my mind, but I have had no problems with availability.

The military discount is better for us...we use the 40% on a deluxe. We have AP's so don't need tickets, and we aren't doing the DDP either, it really doesn't work for us at all.

What does the military rate typically end up being? We are used to staying at Shades, but are considering trying a Disney property this time. TIA!

Just Booked Beach Club garden view yesterday for 4/28-5-4. Most room types were still available, I think standard view was the only one not available for the miliary rate for those dates.

Bummed we couldn't get a moderate. None were available! Any idea if all moderates have military discounts or just certain ones? ASMo was the only value available too!!

Downgraded from CSR ($817) to Pop Century ($513) yesterday.
Shades would have been $408 but without airport transfers.

Had my TA compare the military discount vs. the new deal they just rolled out and we are saving $198 by staying with the military discount (30% off value) and discounted tickets from our nearby base. Can't even compare it to what they are now offering for spring. :)

Actually have two reserved, can't decide
    First:
    POP
    Standard (3 adults, 1 child, 1 infant)
    4/26 - 5/1
    Oct

    Second
    Shades of Green
    Standard (3 adults, 1 child, 1 infant)
    4/26 - 4/30
Dec (when Military child offer announced)
moving to POP last day discount only to 4/30.

We have never stayed at either so keep going back and forth. With 5 and needing a crib wonder about the larger size at SOG. Driving and Cruise on 5/2

To those that book with the military rate: do you usually get tickets thru Shades? Not sure if that's cheaper than including them in package. Thanks!!!

It is, when you factor no tax on them.

It is cheaper. We are just getting ours at our local base instead of heading to Shades (without a car). I know you can walk from the Poly but we want to go the parks as soon as we check in and having them already and still saving $ is a plus for us.
