head back to the WL whats the chances of being out on the water when the EWP comes by?
What does it do? go past GF & Poly, then over to WL & FW, then back past Contemp? why doesnt it pass Contemp before WL?

The EWP does not go to CR first because it loops around the lake counter clockwise. The barges light up from right to left. So it is much easier to come over the water bridge, go to the right to WL, then continue on to FW. It then circles Discovery Island and comes in right in front of CR.

Does that make sense?

It is done this way purely for the logisitics.
