I Went To Walt Disney World and All I Got Was Soaked! It's Fabuloso!

Hey DISboards! Welcome to my second trip report! If you missed my first one you should go read it here.

My name is Allison, and I will be your host for this three day adventure. Well it's going to take a lot longer than three days to write it, but you know what I mean. :rolleyes2

I am 16, and a proud Florida Resident! I have gone to Walt Disney World close to 20 times, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I am very interested in doing the Disney College Program, and I am constantly pestering my parents about going back to WDW, and yes, they do get annoyed by it :rolleyes1. I live for Epcot, School Bread, Wishes, and Ohana bread pudding!

Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Attraction: The Peoplemover and The Carousel of Progress
Favorite Snack: School Bread, Red Velvet Cupcakes, and Dole Whips
Favorite Restaurant: Ohana
Favorite Resort: The Contemporary

Up next in the cast list are my parents!

My Dad is my partner in crime in WDW. He is always ready to jump in the car for a day trip. He loves the pools, and rollercoasters! He could probably live without all of the parades and firework shows, but he puts up with them for me! :yay:

Favorite Park: Hollywood Studios
Favorite Attraction: Rock 'n Rollercoaster
Favorite Snack: Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie
Favorite Restaurant: 50's Prime Time Cafe
Favorite Resort: Caribbean Beach Resort

My Mom is such a trooper in Disney. She will wake up at the crack of dawn to be at rope drop, and as long as she gets a nap, she can stay out for Extra Magic Hours. While she is the one to always shoot down my trip proposals, she loves to go on vacation and loves the more luxurious aspects of our trips. Nice food and hotels make her exponentially happy!

Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Attraction: Soarin
Favorite Snack: Carrot Cake Cookie and Dole Whips
Favorite Restaurant: Mama Melrose's
Favorite Resort: The Grand Floridian

Now that you know who is coming let's get into the other exciting details!

We were spending 3 days and 2 nights at All-Star Music in a Standard Room from November 10-12th.
We used Florida Resident Seasonal Passes
We were chosen for MyMagic+ testing, so we got Magicbands and Fastpass+
We thoroughly enjoyed the Food and Wine Festival
Our jaws dropped at the Osborne Dancing Lights
There also may have been a Very Merry Christmas Party too... :rolleyes1

In other exciting news we are going back to WDW again in January 2014, and we're staying at the Yacht Club! As of right now there are 3 more weeks of waiting, but I cannot wait to go! It will be the first time in almost 10 years that I will stay at a Deluxe Resort! Eep! :yay:

So now that you are all caught up sit back, grab a snack, and enjoy "I Went To Walt Disney World, and All I Got was Soaked! It's Fabuloso!"

The Day Before Disney

Just a forewarning that this will be a short update, and all the pictures were taken with my iphone so they are not the best of quality. Don't worry they will improve by the next update! Also, my winter break starts in 2 days so I'm hoping to crank out this trip report before we leave for the Yacht Club in 19 days! Now back to the scheduled programming!

The Saturday before we left for Walt Disney World was not a fun one. I had to write a research paper, an outline, study for 2 tests, and other varying busy work. I woke up at 8 and managed to crank out most of the work by 2pm.

My brain was fried by then, so I did the logical thing and napped!

I got up to start packing around 5, and faced a major dilemma! I had way more Disney shirts, bows, and mouse ears that I had days in Disney. Oops. Here's what I was narrowing my decisions down to.

As you can tell I was having a difficult time with this.

:rotfl:

After many distractions I finally finished my packing at 9. Yay me!

I set out all of the things I would need in the morning too because we were leaving before the sun was going to be up.

I also painted my nails. Nothing too fancy, just red.

I watched a couple Youtube videos, and I went to bed at around 10:30. I even had a nightmare that I had overslept and we were going to not make it to the park on time! :scared1: Thankfully that didn't happen, and I woke up with my alarm at the crack of dawn the next morning because it was Disney Day!

Making Our Way to the World

I was up bright and early at 5:20 Sunday morning! I got ready, and made sure my parents were up and ready to leave. For the first time in forever (props to you if you got the Frozen reference :rotfl2:) we actually were pulling out of our driveway when I had planned! My mom is notorious for remembering 10 things she forgot to do right before we leave, but she was prepared today. Good job mom! :thumbsup2

I started our drive with Lilo & Stitch.

I fell asleep about half an hour into the movie as I normally do, and when I woke up the sun was rising. How beautiful!

My phone also alerted me that it was time to enjoy my vacation!

I definitely will WDW Countdown! :thumbsup2

After a while we approached the gates of heaven! :worship:

We weren't checking into our hotel though. We had very important business to attend to first, Epcot! :yay:

There was some confusion about why we didn't have to pay for parking because we hadn't checked in and gotten our parking pass, but the guy let us in nonetheless.

We got in line with all the other cars pulling in, and we parked in Journey 9. We were so close that we didn't need to use the tram :cool1:. Soon enough we reached the gates where we needed to activate our Magicbands.

There weren't any lines for the kiosks, and activating our Magicbands was a breeze! We were ready for Epcot! Well first we had to go through bag check, and wait with the throngs of people.

Rope drop on your first morning is very irritating because you haven't been there in months, and you're being teased by this!

Hello, Beautiful!

How exciting! I loved visiting this time of year. The crowds were very low, and we got to experience food and wine and the Osborne lights!

It's a growing problem! :lmao:

Yay, thanks for joining in! :cool1:

Hi Allison! :wave2:

I was there at this time also! I'm looking forward to your report.

Epcot Adventures and Food and Wine!

Once Epcot opened it's beautiful gates to us we joined the crowds racing to get to Ellen's Energy Adventure! Just kidding :lmao: but we did join the masses of people all the way over to the Land where we jumped in line for, you guessed it, Soarin.

Now I thoroughly enjoy my flight on Soarin, but my Mom LIVES for it. Honestly, if Soarin wasn't in WDW I don't know if my Mom would let us vacation here so often. I know, what a scary thought!

The wait was posted at 20 minutes, but it ended up taking 40 which wasn't terrible.

After we heard the best sound in the world, all of the seat belts clicking, we said adios to the Land and headed across the park to visit a certain purple dragon.

As expected Figment was a walk on, and we learned the importance of our imaginations!

Oh Disney puns!

The best part about Journey into the imagination is ending up at jumping waters! Apparently when my brother was little he was so fascinated by these and they could literally spend hours just watching it! :rotfl2: Even though he wasn't here with us we still managed to amuse ourselves.

My Mom really wanted to be under the water when it went over. :lmao:

Success!

After we were done playing in the fountains we started heading over to World Showcase because it was nearing 11 am aka the start of Food and Wine! :cool1:

I apparently needed my Dad to take a picture of something.

The Monorail! There's probably a rule where you have to stop and take a picture of the monorail at least once per vacation. No? Well then I guess I'm starting it.

After stopping by the cranberry bog we finally made it to World Showcase!

I managed to secure a bench in the shade across from the Greece booth near the Canada DVC kiosk.

We got the little passport booklet earlier even though we never ended up getting it stamped.

I saved our seats while my Mom went to Canada, and my Dad went to Greece. Any guesses what they got?

Up first was the Griddled Greek Cheese with honey and pistachios from Greece. Oh my lanta this was delicious. It looked a little intimidating at first, but the salty, sweet, creamy, and crunchy combination was a winning one! It ended up being my parents favorite dish, and my second favorite! We may or may not have ended up getting it again...

Next was the Filet Mignon with wild mushrooms and truffle butter sauce and cheddar cheese soup from Canada. I'm not a big steak person, but I had a bite and it was really good. I wish I could just have a cup of the truffle butter sauce with a straw! We had heard a lot of hype about he cheddar cheese soup, but we were a bit underwhelmed and thought that it was a small portion for the price. :confused3

When we finished our mini feast we threw away our trash, and made our way to the next booth on our list.

We passed by this practically perfect topiary on our way.

The next thing we got was my favorite thing from the entire festival, and that's saying something because we ate A LOT. What was it? Well I guess you'll have to wait until the next update for the answer. :scratchin

Up Next:

I like your rule about taking at least one monorail picture per trip. I know I usually snap about 10 to 12 myself. We ate a ton at F&W Festival. I'll be interested to hear your take on what you tried. We did try the cheese soup in Canada. I have to admit I liked it quite a bit.
