    and paid....

    $33.29!

I saved $66.63!!! I haven't done that in ages. My $105.92 bill came to $33.29. If I was paying attention I would have been able to buy an additional $5 for free since I had a $5 off $75 but after club savings it came to $70. Still did pretty dang good if I do say so myself! :cool1: :bounce:

    Wow!
    Great job!
Is that using the grocery game? Or did you do it on your own?

    Thanks!

I did this on my own. I signed up for The Grocery Game but about 2 weeks into it I realized I could do better on my own.

    LOL. Sorry about that!

    Lets see.

I do my shopping on Saturdays. Before I do I pick up the Sunday paper (I walk to the store) and get the coupons from it.

I took advantage of the a loss leader and bought Triscuts for $.49 (They had another loss leader but I got it for free). I also had a $10 off $50 store coupon which helped.

    I also bought:

Cattlemans BBQ sauce for free (2/$4 on club) bought 1 for $2 - $1 doubled = free
Kens maranaid 2/$5 on club- $1.00 off doubled = $.50
    Duracell batteries for ($2.99) - $1.00 doubled = $.99
Free box of 24 crayola crayons with battery purcahse (I needed the batteries)
    Deodrant $3.50 on club - $1.00 off doubled = $1.50
    ziploc bags $1.99 x 2 on club - $1 off two = $.99 each
    GM cereal 3/$6 on club + 1/$2 - $2.00 off + $1.00 = 4 for $5
    Colgate toothbrush $2.50 on club - $.75 doubled = $1.00

Those were the big savers. I don't eat meat and I cook a lot from scratch so other items I bought were on sale via club (cheeses, sauce bases, soy milk). I buy all my produce from a farmers market (cheap and fresh).

I enjoy grocery shopping and take my time comparing items and prices.

    You did great!
I only wish that our stores would double the $1 coupons, but they'll only double up to 99 cents.

    Thanks guys!

Jcemon, a loss leader is something all stores use to get you in the store. It's an item that a lot of people use on sale for really cheap. They are normally in the back of the store so you have to walk through sections and will hopefully buy more stuff.

You are lucky they double at all. I remember double coupons up in NY at Shopwell, Food Emporium, Waldbaums, Grand Union, etc. I think they all did. Really saves a lot. Where I live in Florida there is no such thing.

And kudos to the OP for some savvy shopping!

    That's great!

I'm another who is jealous that your store doubles $1, my grocery bill would be almost non-existant if our stores had that policy!
