I Can't Do That! I'd Be Too EmBEARassed! A Nov 2015 TR New PTR link 10/13!

I've heard people call that BOG room the Music Room or the library. It is the one we eat in the most because it is quiet and the tables aren't too squished together.

Did they serve you raw carrots with your entree? That is weird.

I love the parade. I'm glad the rain let up and that you got to see it.

BoG I have done twice now for dinner and once for lunch. I really enjoy it for dinner more so then lunch. I've gotten lucky somehow and was placed in the west wing both time I had dinner. Great pictures of the restaurant and with the beast!

I really do love that parade also so I was glad I got to see it.

I actually prefer the lunch for some reason but as long as I can have my chocolate cupcake I'm happy!

I'm sorry you gave up your better parade spot, but you still got some nice pictures!

Glad you all enjoyed your dinner together! The ballroom looks so pretty at Christmastime.

I was kind of bummed that the rain stopped so quick but Main Street was fairly empty thanks to the rain and I had no problem finding a new spot.

I love the atmosphere at BOG especially around Christmas time.

Great shots of the FoF Parade -- the one of Flynn had me cracking up! Yep, he was SO over it ...lol! And Captain Hook making the "heart" sign with his hook!?! Never knew he was such a softie :)

Not sure what was up with that face Flynn was making but it cracked me up. I thought Hook was cute making the heart sign.

I've heard it called a bunch of different names but I have no idea what the official name is. I need to ask a CM next time!

They weren't quite raw, just not cooked all the way. I'm used to thoroughly cooked and mushy.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Part 1

When we exited the restaurant it was raining again. Boo! I still needed to get my wrist band for the party so I headed over near Mickey’s Philharmagic where they had a line. I’m bummed that this next picture is blurry. I was trying to show how well my party band matched with my Magic Band.

I had planned on hitting up Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws first since he started meeting well before the party started. But we had lingered over dinner a little longer than I expected and we were met with this line when we got there.

Mo and the gang decided they didn’t want to wait so they went off to ride some rides and I headed into the line. I got a wait time card to carry through the line.

And also a signature card since Jack does not sign.

I waited about 10 minutes and the line didn’t move once. So I gave up and got back out of line and headed to the second meet I had on my schedule for the night. I wanted to get pictures with the Pooh gang in their Christmas gear. I also had never met Piglet or Eeyore and wanted to add them to my character list. I got in line about 6:50 pm and they were scheduled to come out at 7 pm. I was only about 10 groups back but the line filled up quickly behind me. For some reason, I’m guessing because of the rain, they didn’t come out until almost 7:30 pm. But the wait was quick and it wasn’t long before I was meeting them.

I had missed the parade the previous year due to rain so I was determined to see the first one during this party. So I headed towards Liberty Square/Fronterland to get a spot. It was still raining so I wasn’t sure if the parade would even happen.

I was immediately distracted though by the Country Bears. They were supposed to be doing a dance party in Fronterland but with the rain, they were just doing a regular meet and greet on the porch of the Diamond Horseshoe. So of course I got in line.

Up first was Liver Lips and Wendell.

The CM there told me that Big Al and Terrence (aka Shaker) would be out in about 10 minutes. I wasn’t about to miss my favorite so I hung towards the back of the line until Liver Lips and Wendell left and then I got back in line.

I was so excited that I got to meet four of my favorite bears! Totally unexpected and made my night.

It was still raining but I found a front row spot for the parade right near the Diamond Horseshoe and settled in. They kept coming on and announcing that the parade had been delayed. I was sure that it would be cancelled but it finally started. Since it was raining though, I didn’t get to take any pictures. At least I finally saw the thing!

My plans for after the parade was to make my way to the front for Christmas Wishes. But I really wasn’t in a mood to fight the crowds in front of the castle plus I was on a role with the character meets and didn’t want to get too far from Fantasyland. So instead, I headed to the bridge to BTMR. I had heard it wasn’t a bad place to watch the fireworks. I couldn’t really see Celebrate the Magic but that was OK since I’d already seen it twice. Here was my view once the fireworks started.

It was an interesting place to watch the fireworks and not crowded at all. It was still sprinkling but I did pull out my camera for a few shots. I definitely want to watch from there again someday so I can photograph the show properly.

I stopped in at Peco Bills next and grabbed some water. Even with the rain it was just a little too warm for hot chocolate. I wanted to pick up a few of the party exclusive pins so I stopped in the pin store in Fronterland and purchased these two.

Some close ups of the pins.

Next up on my meet and greet list was Prancer and the Elf. This meet and greet was kind of hidden right outside of the new Sunglass Hut in Adventureland. Because of that, the line wasn’t very long at all. Prancer pranced a bit for me and then we posed for pictures. I know I had a conversation with the Elf but at this point I have no idea what we talked about.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Part 2

I decided to go see what Jack’s line looked like so I headed back towards Fantasyland. For some reason though, I got distracted again, this time by the Winnie the Pooh ride. It had no wait at all and I hadn’t ridden it yet this trip, so I decided to go for a spin.

I finally made it back to the Storybook Circus area where Jack was meeting. The line was about half as long as the first time so I got in. I had a very pleasant conversation with a young girl in line behind me. She was solo also and I’m pretty sure she was a CM but I never asked. I waited about 35 minutes total which means if I would have stayed in line earlier it would have been well over an hour.

Jack told me a story but I couldn’t hear him very well at all so I just nodded along and smiled at him. I honestly have never seen the movie but I wanted a picture with him since he is a rare character.

It was around 11:30 when I finished up with Jack so I decided that I had time for one more meet before calling it a night. I headed over and got in line for Rapunzel & Flynn Rider and Cinderella & Prince Charming.
I’m glad I meet the 7 Dwarves the year before. This year they had them crammed under an awning by the Friar’s Nook thanks to the rain.

It was about 20 minutes before I was meeting Rapunzel and Flynn. Once again I have no idea what I talked about with either couple. That’s what I get for dragging my TRs out for months at a time.

It was 11:55 when I exited the meet and greet and the line for Anna and Elsa was still open. I did consider it for a few minutes but I had met them before and I was tired so I decided to head out. Of course I took pictures the whole way out of the park.

I made it back to my room around 12:30 pm and was in bed shortly after that. I traded for one pin sometime during the day.

I really want to go to a Christmas party at least once.

I can understand skipping that Jack Skellington line.

The Winnie the Pooh characters all together and with Christmas outfits! Must do!

Big Al in a Christmas scarf! Oh man I'm so jealous I love Big Al.

Glad you saw the parade finally despite the rain.

Great pin pick ups. I just love the Disney Christmas decor.

YOU. HAVE. NEVER. SEEN. NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS?!?!

seriously..

you need to see it

now!!!!

I love the new pins! I am still so sad we didn't meet Jack. or ANY character. the kids were go go go as you know!!!

Dinner was a LOT of fun!!! we had a great time together. the kids still talk about you and how they miss you..
We are going to have to re-do a trip together!

Your pic with the Pooh Gang is awesome!

Yay the Country Bears! So cool and great pics!

I'm glad you finally got to see the parade and that it didn't get cancelled.

That's a fun photo op with the reindeer and elf!

I'm glad you did end up meeting Jack after all. Great pics.

Love all the pics as you left the park! Sounds like you had a pretty successful party!

Great Christmas Party Update! Those special edition pins are super adorable too. I could totally go for a MVMCP Hot Cocoa and Sugar Cookie right about now -- even if it is 80 degrees outside! Awesome character photos -- I love the ones with the Country Bears...we never see those guys out and about....good score!

Love all the pics you got at MVMCP! Even with the rain, especially the castle pics as you were leaving the park--just beautiful!

I was wondering where you got your Christmas stickers for your Magic band....looks like My Fantasy Bands maybe? I just ordered from her for our December trip. Any tips on applying them??

You did AMAZING with meet and greets!!! Mom and I waited to meet the 7 dwarves and the characters in their christmas gear by Casey Jr.'s area in New Fantasyland, but everything felt like it took FOREVER. Even though we got in the dwarf line almost an hour before the party started. We will hopefully do better this time--I was able to get tickets for the very last MVMCP on December 22nd!

I've been to MVMCP twice now and I think I'm done for now unless they add some new stuff. Plus it's not really my Mom's thing so I'm not going to drag her this year.

I was happy to finally add Piglet and Eeyore to my list of characters.

I was so excited for the Country Bears. I think that was the only good thing about the rain that night. If it had been a nice night, I would not have gotten pictures.

Nope, haven't seen it. Sad thing is I do have it on DVD, just haven't gotten around to watching it. I definitely will get to it eventually.

Yes, definitely need another trip together!

Not sure why I wasn't feeling the hot chocolate that night. I think with it being so hot that week, I was somewhat dehydrated so water was all I was craving. I don't think the bears are out for meets except at the parties. They do come out for the Fronterland dance party but it's hard to get a picture of them during that.

My sticker came from DVCcentral.com. And as for applying them, they aren't too hard. Just make sure you get them centered before pressing them down.

Have fun at your party! Last year, Jack started meeting around 5 pm so make sure you research that. You still had to have a party band but that really saved time rather than waiting during party hours. I had planned on doing that last year but dinner took a little too long.

Dashing For a Favorite Ride Part 1

I set my alarm on Friday, November 20, 2015 for 6 am but I ended up hitting the snooze a few times. It was day 8 after all and I had been out well past midnight the night before. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I scheduled MVMCP and HS rope drop back to back! I still managed to drag myself out of bed and was out the door by 7:45 am and on a bus to HS by 8:06 am. I got to ride on a regular tour bus with nice comfy seats rather than a Disney bus.

We pulled into HS about 8:20 am.

The lines looked something like this at that point.

I was really excited when they let us in at 8:30. I thought for sure I might get two rides in on TSM. But then I ran into this.

And they held us there until 9 am.

I hustled my way to TSM and got in line.

Mr. Potato Head was missing due to the ride expansion. His whole area was covered up by this wall. Does anyone know if he is back now that the third track is open?

Almost there!

Not a bad score this time around. I’m getting a little better with my accuracy too.

The wait time said 75 minutes when I exited and while I figured it wasn’t quite that long, I decided to head off and do something different. I had some time before my first FP which was for TOT so I headed to the Great Movie Ride to fill the time. There wasn’t much of a line this early in the morning.

This was the first time I had experienced this ride since the changes. The first difference I noticed were the screens in the line with rotating movie posters.

During the pre-show, Robert Osborne a host for Turner Classic Movies, is now part of the clips. They also added a bunch of stuff about the gangster movie genre.

During the ride, Mr. Osborne does a lot of the commentary which I wasn’t all that fond of. I felt that it took away from the CMs who are part of the ride. Mr. Osborne also introduced the films at the very end which included all new film footage. That part was pretty nice.

As usual, I took a ton of pictures on the ride so let’s get to those.

Dashing For a Favorite Ride Part 2

At the very end after the movie clips, there were some new screens.

It was now time to hit up my TOT FP+ so I headed down Sunset Blvd taking pictures as I went.

I never noticed the smear marks on the dusty windows before. Pretty creepy, as if someone was trying to claw their way out.

I got a whole row to myself which was nice.

And here’s the video. The little boy in front of me cracks me up. I don’t think he could get his mouth open any wider!

Just wanted to let you know that they are adding a new show to the Christmas party. It's supposed to have live singing like the hocus Pocus show at the Halloween party.

I'm surprised they were using coach buses, must've been a high capacity day.

Toy story mania waits are down a bit now that the third track is open so that's a good thing. As for Mr. Potato Head he is still gone. When Toy Story Land opens they are going to be moving the TSMM entrance to the Toy Story Land area so the current entrance in Pixar place will go away. It's been rumored they are keeping him until they change the entrances.

I haven't done the GMR since the changes and I do want to check it out. I'm still not sure about how it's a lot of pre-recorded stuff. I liked when the CM did most of the talking. Oh well.

Tower of terror is always fun!

Great park photos! GMR is one of my all-time favs, it's just such a classic. I so enjoy the line queue, the ambiance and movie memorabilia. It totally transports you back in time to the glamour of Hollywood movies. But I too was not a fan of Mr. AMC narrating through the ride -- you are right when you said that his narration takes away from the Cast Members. He's OK in the ride's pre-screening room and then I don't mind him returning at the end. The rest that he does in between ..... we could do without.

It's always tough to get up after a long night, but glad you were still able to get to rope drop! So far sounds like a good morning. I love all your pics of ToT and the queue!

Your pics in line for ToT just made me WISH I was there right now instead of dreary rainy Chicago!

I agree with you on the changes to the GMR. the commentary takes a little something away from the CM dialogue!

Sounds like you had a fun night at the Christmas Party, I have been at Christmas a couple times but this was before the parties started. I always loved it at Chriatmas time, I love the decorations,

How cool that they do a M&G with the POOH Gang all together! I would love that, nice pic

This Reindeer (I think you said he was Prancer?) and Elf are too cute

i wonder what the wait times will be once all the tracks are opened.. Then again with all the construction im sure they will stay pretty high...
GREAT JOB on TSM!

YAY for you pictures! remember ALWAYS LOOK UP!

Thanks for the Christmas party info. I still don't think we will go this year. My Mom really isn't into the parties plus we are trying to be as cheap as possible since we are going to DL soon after.

It didn't feel all that crowded that day so I have no idea what was up with the buses.

Ah, OK, glad to know he will be back eventually. I was really hoping the wait times would go down further than they have. We will need to get a RnRC FP in December since it's Mom's favorite and I don't want to have her do the morning dash. Probably won't be riding TSM.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the recorded stuff that they added to GMR.

I do wish they would go back to the old commentary during the ride. It's almost like the CMs are there just for show now.

It's always tough to get up after a long night, but glad you were still able to get to rope drop! So far sounds like a good morning. I love all your pics of ToT and the queue!

Yep, the new GMR dialog was definitely not my favorite thing.

There are some great meet and greets at the party!

I think its running around 40-50 minutes now which is a little better. Hopefully once the rest of the new stuff opens, it will be even lower.

Yep, so much detail everywhere!

Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit Part 1

I had some time before my next FP+ for TSM so I shopped my way up Sunset Blvd. It was a fairly warm day again so I was surprised to see this next group. I would have been boiling in these.

There was only one meet and greet I wanted to do on this day. I had not met Mickey in his Sorcerer outfit so that was next on the list. He was meeting in the building that used to house the Legend of Jack Sparrow. The line was pretty short and it wasn’t long before I was meeting the Big Cheese himself.

Afterwards I also found a PP photographer near Pixar Place.

It still wasn’t time for my TSM FP+ and I didn’t want to head too far from the area so I wandered into One Man’s Dream. I can always spend time in there.

I still need to figure out how to get one of these to hang in my house.

The last time I had been in One Man’s Dream, the New Fantasyland Model took up most of the farthest room. It was gone now and there were some new displays.

A few movie props. The Honey I Shrunk the Kids series were some of my favorite movies in the 90s.

I was particularly enamored by the display of props from extinct Epcot rides.

Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit!

I didn’t have enough time to watch the movie, I think it might have been a preview for the Good Dinosaur, so I turned around and headed back out and over to TSM to use my FP.
