I am never riding Space Mountain again! A Marathon Weekend TR Complete

Continued from previous post...

We were approaching the tallest animals on the savanna.

I got a lot of close ups on this safari!

Some Rhinos in the back.

The King and Queen of the Jungle (or Savanna)

My best shot of the safari...

Now onto the Zebras!

And that is the end of this safari! With that we headed out of the park to head to Disney Springs! That will of course come in the next update.

Up next: Not enough time at the Springs

Wonderful pictures of FOTLK.... WOW! I especially like the ones with the lady in the harness / bird costume ... perfect shots of her in flight!

I love the Safari too, it's always a Must Do for our family. Me and DH do miss the story line they used to have with the Baby Elephant and the Poacher. It just gave it that extra Disney adventure vibe. Maybe someday they'll bring it back. Your pics of the Lions are out of this world -- now those were some good close ups!

Thanks so much! I think my pictures got better as the trip went on.

Maybe they'll develop an all new storyline?

Thanks again, I really liked that lion shot.

That lion shot is AWESOME! Every time I go, they're not very visible, so it's so nice to see that some people get great visuals! Excellent job, as always!

So many great Safari shots! I definitely agree that the lioness shot is the best but I really love the baby Bongos!

Thanks! Yeah its always hit or miss with the lions.

Thanks! The baby bongos were good too!

Great safari pictures! You saw a lot of animals (including babies!), and that lion shot is phenomenal!

We actually had our first bad safari last trip ... it was sad, but it just means that I have to go back and have a better safari experience next time.

Thanks! Yes I thought the animal activity was great.

That sucks! I hope it's better next time.

LOVE the shot of the sleeping lioness. Gorgeous.

A couple of years ago we got held up by some giraffes in the road. Just 5-10 minutes or so, but it was so worth it. Once we got moving, they were still standing right next to the road as we drove by. One of them nearly stuck her* head under the awning right by us. It was so amazing to see her that close up.

*I actually have no idea if it was a her, but I liked to think of it as a her. :)

Thanks! That might be one of my favorite shots from the whole trip.

Yes we had a few animals real close to the truck it was awesome seeing them up close.

Fantastic photos! After taking my daughter to the zoo, I realized how special animal kingdom is.

LOVE the sleeping lion shot! I've enjoyed your trip report a lot-- I'm currently training for my first ever run (a local 8k) and I'm holding a Run Disney event as a someday goal in the back of my mind...

Not enough time at the Springs

We arrived at Disney Springs just before 5:00pm. Our ADR for Portobello was at 7:30pm so we had a good two hours to shop around.

So much has changed here. I really do like Disney Springs and am happy with the changes they are making.

Disney Springs was celebrating the new year!

I didn't take a ton of pictures at Disney Springs because of crowds and what not so the order of things we did might be a little off.

I know we stopped at Disney's Days of Christmas first. My grandma returned an ornament there that she bought at AK. After that we headed to Disney's Pin traders. I bought a WDW 2016 pin and a couple vinylmations.

After that we headed to my new favorite store at Disney Springs, the Marketplace Co-op. We browsed around there a bit and I ordered a custom WDW Half Marathon phone case for my 6+.

Up next was World of Disney.

This is probably where we spent most of our time. My mom bought two antenna toppers as she does on every Disney trip. My grandma bought a shirt and hat for my grandpa back home. Judy bought a couple things as well. I know my sisters got stuff but I don't remember what. I don't recall buying anything myself here. We probably spent a good hour here. While they were still shopping I went back to pick up my phone case.

We continued walking after that as it was getting closer to 7:30pm.

The Boathouse was not finished last time I was here. I think I may have to try this place out next time.

I would totally do this if it wasn't so expensive.

Next we passed by the new Hangar Bar. I plan on stopping in here once I'm 21.

We passed by STK next. I am really surprised this isn't open yet.

Planet Hollywood had closed earlier that week for the big redo and you could see lights for work going on. My sister and Grandma stopped in Havaianas to look at shoes. After that we continued on to the new star wars store where D street used to be. We didn't find much in there that you couldn't find every where else. It was 7:10 so we headed back towards Portobello. My parents wouldn't be dining with us but my Grandma gave them money to pay for their dinner since it was my dad's birthday tomorrow. They went off to find something to eat. We went off to Portobello. We got there and there is a huge line at the door... We get in line but I still go inside to the desk and ask if this is the line if you have reservations and sure enough it was. So we wait and after about 10-15 minutes we got to the desk. We were seated around 7:40 probably. While we were in line though I get a text from my parents. Guess where they went to eat. Boathouse! I'll admit I was jealous. They said there was no wait there.

Here is a photo my mom's lobster roll. My dad got a steak but I don't have a picture of it.

Now back to Portobello. I was bad and forgot to get pictures of everything but I did get mine and my sisters n the midst of eating. I got the Lasagna and my sister Sydnee got chicken.

I honestly don't remember what everyone else got. That's my fault because I didn't take pictures.

For dessert I believe three of us got the berry sorbet, and I know my grandma got some white chocolate dessert. I don't know what Judy got.

After a great meal we headed out and met back up with my parents at the Margarita Bar. It was nearing 9:00pm. I knew I needed to get to bed I had a big day tomorrow. I left everyone at Disney Springs to go to bed. They went to look into another store or two. I got back and laid out my stuff for the half.

Of course my nerves got the best of me and I didn't fall asleep until at least 10:15pm.

Here are my end of the day stats.

Up Next: It's my first Half Marathon!!!
