I am never riding Space Mountain again! A Marathon Weekend TR Complete

A short morning in the Magic Kingdom

Once back from what I consider my warm up to my runDisney weekend my sister and I showered and got ready to go. When we did get back though everyone was still sleeping... It was 8:00 so I guess ok whatever but I was at least expecting them to be up when we got back. My sister and I were done before everyone and then Sydnee soon after. My Grandma and Judy were still moving slow though and I was ready to get our day started my adrenaline was still going from the 5K. After waiting a while longer I said why not meet us at MK when you are ready? They agreed so my sisters and I were off to have some morning fun!

Before you know it we were walking into the Magic Kingdom!

This was my first time seeing the completed hub and it was really nice.

Off to Tomorrowland! And right onto the Peoplemover!

To be continued...

A short morning in the Magic Kingdom Continued...

Since my photo pass photos are separate of my own photos I keep forgetting about them! We took these as we entered the park.

After enjoying our ride on the Peoplemover we headed for Space Ranger Spin! I believe it was around a 15 minute wait. Buzz was behind curtains in the queue seeming to be getting some work.

I rode with Sydnee and Jordan rode alone.

After that we got a phone call from Grandma that they had arrived in the Magic Kingdom and were in the Emporium. So we headed that way as we would be having to leave soon anyways. We met them in the emporium and looked around a little bit but I said we would have to be leaving soon to make it to WWoS for Sydnee's Mickey Mile!

We headed for the monorail and to the Polynesian since I wanted to see the new lobby. The Star Wars wrapped monorail passed by.

Soon enough we were at the Polynesian. I like the new lobby despite the cries for taking the old one away. I never had much of tie to that anyways. It really opens the area up which is better, I will agree that the water feature could have been a little better though.

Once I was done taking pictures we headed for the expo bus stop as we had to go back to WWoS for my sister Sydnee's Mickey Mile. Her race started at 12:30.

Up Next: Hey look! thats....

I'm just catching up and joining in. Looks like you had a wonderful trip. I have fond memories of running around DL with my siblings--so it's great to see you and your sisters enjoying WDW! So nice that all three of you could participate in runDisney! It's also cool that you get to enjoy it with your Grandma! Such a great trip! I know you enjoyed it.

Great move on heading out to MK and meeting up. That's a great strategy when not everyone is ready at the same time! I'm enjoying all your photos!

Did you get early acceptance for college, or are you waiting until April for acceptances? Good luck, I know you will do well in college!

All caught up!!! I stopped getting alerts on my trip reports so I missed a lot here, but it was nice to get a large chunk all at once Love your pictures though!!! My favorites were the 5k selfies and the Osborne lights! I'm so sad I missed them!

Thanking for joining in! It really was a great trip!

I have been accepted to two college so far still waiting on two more.

Glad you got caught up! I really enjoyed the lights it's unfortunate you missed them.

Sounds like a great morning at MK! I really don't understand sleeping in at Disney ... but I guess it's a lot easier to sleep in if you haven't been up since the middle of the night...

I also like the new Poly lobby - I never saw the old one, but it's such a beautiful space and I love how open it is.

Sounds like you had a nice short morning at MK. I agree I like the Poly lobby, it's to bright and open. I'm interested to hear about the Mickey Mile.

Yeah when I am at Disney I stay up late and wake up early. So much to do and so little time.

The old one was nice but it obviously wasn't very open.

Mickey Mile will be up next, along with something else...

When we were young we did the same. Of course Pleasure Island was open at that point - and we weren't quite as young as you.
Once we started going with our daughter we wake up early but quit early. (She is not one for late nights - even at 12 years old.)
When we go on our own - we STILL get up early and stay up late....but we take a LOONNNGG nap in between!!! I think we were out until 2 AM for 3 nights in row in 2014 when we did our "no kids" trip.

I don't like taking naps. I don't mind a mid day break but it's not something I plan into every day. Everyone does what fits best for them. I'm sure my plans will change as I get older but for now I always am out and about.

Once you get up there in age, you'll miss all those naps you didn't take when you were younger lol. I know I sure do!!

That's my point - you are young - don't need a break. Don't tell me your Grandma and Aunt were going dawn to dusk every day!

For the most part they kept up with us pretty well. They did need some time to just take a break though once in a while.

I set my alarm for 3:15 AM and just to be safe I set three alarms on my phone, an alarm on my fitbit and my sister set an alarm. I was making sure I got up for the race! I always have a weird feeling that one day I am not going to wake up to my alarm and miss the race. It just so happens I woke up on my own before my alarm even went off...

All I can picture is the classic Seinfeld episode where runner Jean-Paul misses the NYC marathon start.

I love all your photos from the race- especially the one with your sister in front of the sign before and after the race. The photos of Spaceship Earth is stunning and all of your pictures with characters are awesome.

I'm not a runner, but I absolutely love the idea of running through the Disney parks. I can't think of a more interesting, fun course. I am occasionally tempted to join a C25K program, but so far I have been able to resist the urge.

:goodvibes:

AWWWW!!!! Great picture!

The People Mover is an interesting first ride, but I love that attraction. Really, really fantastic pictures from your ride around Tomorrowland!

The castle Photopass pictures you got are excellent!

I haven't been to the Poly since the renovation, but the lobby is so pretty in the pictures I have seen.

::yes::
