I am never riding Space Mountain again! A Marathon Weekend TR Complete

Too bad it was raining but hopefully it keep the crowds away!

Cute PP pictures by the tree.

I don't think I've ever read another TR where the first AK attraction is ITTBAB. :rotfl: But we all have our favorites of course.

Love the selfie of all of you in the King Louis/Baloo line.

Finally caught up (I wasn't getting notifications for some reason)! Really enjoying your trip report. The Osborne lights are so wonderful and powerful (that moment when they turn them on is breathtaking) and I am sad to see them go, but so happy I was able to see them three times this year. Great photos of them!

How lovely that your parents were able to surprise you! That is really, really cool. I'm a bit jealous of your 5K character photos, we didn't stop for any characters during that race. Great photos with your sister! And especially love your Tink photos - I have been an AP holder for years and years and we just have never gotten around to seeing Wishes (I know, I know) just because we're typically in DHS or Epcot at night. So seeing all your fireworks and Celebrate photos was new for me, too!

Kimberly and Gail were actually in my 10K corral maybe 10 feet away from me at the time, but I didn't realize it was them until later! As such, we never got to talk to them. I also ran into them in DCA during the Star Wars Half last year when they were dressed as Tink stormtroopers which made me crack up even though I didn't know who they were! And especially dig your Pascal magic shots - he's one of my very favorites. Looking forward to the rest of your report!

Yes I loved the lights they were amazing. I was glad I got to see them once at least.

It was a nice surprise for sure. I figured since the 5K wasn't timed and I wanted to enjoy it we would stop for as many characters as we could or wanted. We hit all of them except two.

I can't believe you haven't seen wishes! I hope you get to see them soon.

I don't know if I would have the guts to talk to Kimberly and Gail, I know they are nice people and they always say to say hi if you see them. They always have amazing costumes though.

Thanks for following along!

Yeah the rain didn't bother me much but it wasn't very crowded.

There was no wait and it's one of the first attractions when you get there so we decided to go there especially to avoid the rain.

I made everyone get in the selfie since we didn't have anything to do while waiting out the rain.

We got to AK at about the same time after the 10k. We had for some reason thought the rain was going to stop so left our ponchos in the room...oops!

We probably passed by each other at some point and didn't even know it.

We didn't have ponchos at all and almost got some but ended up just waiting it out.

I love the last picture in your Celebrate the Magic post...the castle lit up by the fireworks and everyone with their heads looking up at the castle!

The rain stops finally!

I know I won't be able to update tomorrow so tonight will be it. Thanks to @SarahDisney I never posted my Fitbit stats from the day before.

I didn't take my DSLR out for the morning because of the rain so most of the photos are from PP or my iPhone.

When we left the rain cover we went towards Dinoland because we had a Dinosaur FP. It was still raining a little bit but not much like before. There was a CM literally asking people to take pictures with Mickey and Minnie, so that was a no brainer! As you can tell we were a little wet...

After that great quick meet with the big cheese and his gal we headed back out but the rain started again so it was back to shelter we go, this time at the new stage that was built recently near Flame Tree BBQ. We still had some time before our Dinosaur FP so that is why we waited there.

After about 20 minutes of waiting we were on the move to Dinosaur!

The FP probably was a waste since it was about a 10 minute wait if that.

Of course my dad looks thrilled...

After one of my favorites we needed some lunch so we went to Restaurantasaurus next door.

As you can see we all like the same stuff lol!

No complaints about the food but also nothing to write home about either. I had my chicken nugget fill.

Just outside where we were sitting, Donald was meeting! So of course we had to stop.

After some great photos with Donald we headed through Dinoland and made a stop at Primeval whirl, My Dad, sisters and I road the rest sat out.

We had another FP to head to in Asia so that is what we started towards while passing by all of this construction for the amazing new show Rivers of Light that debuts April 22nd. I can't wait to see that show!

My Parents didn't have an everest FP I think or maybe it didn't match up but Judy, My Mom and My Grandma did not want to ride so my dad took my grandma's magicband to get in with a FP.

Everytime we ride this my dad seems to like hand off the side and I don't know why.

Anyways my parents had a Safari FP to get to after this so we parted ways for now. It just so happened a Flights of Wonder show was starting and I had never seen it so we had to go.

Up Next: Look how close that bird is!

Cute pictures with Mickey & Minnie. Nice that there was no line.

It's funny that all of you look so bored on Dinosaur like it was no big deal a huge dinosaur was about to get you. :rotfl:

That is a whole lot of chicken tenders! Man I want some Disney chicken tenders right now and a piece of that chocolate mousse cake.

I'm super excited for the new AK show but I don't know when I'm going to make it back there to see it.

Yes couldn't pass up no line.

I think my dad looks the most bored. Next time I need to remember to do something funny for the photo.

I could go for some Disney chicken tenders right now too!

I don't know when I'll be back for sure either. Most likely marathon weekend again.

Sorry about the rain, it doesn't look like it stopped you though. Love your pic from Everest :rotfl2:

Spectating the 10k sounds like fun, especially since it went right by you, and you were able to meet Sarah.

I really enjoy Animal Kingdom. Your tree of life photos are great, I love the carvings.

You got some great magic shots! Your family’s expressions in your lion king photos are great. Really nice that you have a the whole family with Mickey & Minnie. And no line sounds perfect!

My next Disney trip I leave for home on 4/19th so I will just miss the new show.

Yes spectating was fun. I haven't done that before so it was a nice experience especially seeing Sarah.

I love AK!

Yes we did get some great shots.

You might be able to catch a soft opening of you're lucky.

Oooh...glad you got to see Flights of Wonder! (I know I am more talking about the NEXT post.) Looks like maybe the rain is starting to go away too.

I wonder if when Pandora and all the night offerings open if rides like Dinosaur will end up getting longer wait times as well as the crowds bump up in AK.

Yes you will hear more about that next!

I would assume so. AK will likely get more crowded overall.

I love the pictures with Mickey and Minnie!

Your dad looks so weird in the Everest picture. Why is he doing that???

Looks like you guys had some fun despite the rain, which is always awesome!

Yes my dad did that last time we rode as well. I don't know what he is doing. He claims that he feels he's going to fall out or something but who knows.

The rain never bothered me anyway.

I got caught up on the last couple of updates.

:woohoo: on meeting Sarah!

I love the animal ornaments on the Christmas tree at AK.

You got some great, silly photo pass pictures in front of the Tree of Life.

It has been years since we have seen It's Tough to Be a Bug. I did not warn the boys about the 4D effects and they have refused to go since that visit in 2008. I love being close to the Tree of Life though. We used to take the path that went close to the tree. They closed it after one of the branches fell and I don't know if the path is open again.

Does anyone know?

Too funny that they were begging for guests to take pictures with Mickey and Minnie. The pictures are awesome.

Dinosaur is always fun!

I have never eaten at Restaurantasaurus. The desserts look really good. Cheesecake?

That is great that your parents could go on EE using your grandma and aunt's FPs.

I am really looking forward to your Flights of Wonder update. I have never done this. It is one of the top attractions on my to do list when Mark and I are on our anniversary trip.

:goodvibes:

The rain never bothered me anyway.

I agree, but all of my visits to AK have been in the summer and the heat is a killer there!

:scared:

Yes meeting sarah was fun!

I love the AK tree I think it's my favorite.

That path has never opened back up. I hope they open it some day soon.

Yes there was no one in line and the CM was just like oh hey Mickey and Minnie are in here come on in.

That was my first time there too. The desserts were good but nothing fantastic.

Yes the FP for EE worked out well.

This was my first time with the birds so I was excited to see it.

Until I started going in January all of my visits to AK were in the summer too.

Look how close that bird is!

As I mentioned in my previous update we were walking towards Flights of Wonder and a show was just starting so we stopped in to watch. This was my first time seeing this show so I was excited to see what it is all about.

I really enjoyed the act that this guy played. I think it helps the show appeal to younger generations.

And here was the best part. This bird flew right up in front of us!
